(Oh look! What a co-inky-dink!) Hillary Clinton Campaign Says She Would Reschedule Marijuana

Hillary Clinton Campaign Says She Would Reschedule Marijuana
Making weed easier to research

While the Drug Enforcement Administration denied a petition early Thursday to remove marijuana from its Schedule I list under the Controlled Substances Act, leaving the drug lumped in with heroin, LSD and other elicit substances, the Clinton campaign thinks that rescheduling the drug serves a higher purpose.

*

The DEA’s decision to keep pot as a Schedule I drug affirmed the federal government’s belief that there is insufficient evidence to show that any “specific benefits” the drug might offer would outweigh any of the “known risks.”

*

“As president, Hillary will build on the important steps announced today by rescheduling marijuana from a Schedule I to a Schedule II substance. She will also ensure Colorado, and other states that have enacted marijuana laws, can continue to serve as laboratories of democracy,” Harris continued.

That's a damn lie that the feds think cannabinoids have no medicinal value. I've already posted that the feds patented it for their belief in it's 'medicinal' value. She should damn well know that.

Here it is again.

***

Patent No. 6630507, held by the United States Department of Health and Human Services, covers the use of cannabinoids for treating a wide range of diseases.

Under U.S. federal law, marijuana is defined as having no medical use. So it might come as a surprise to hear that the government owns one of the only patents on marijuana as a medicine.

The patent (US6630507) is titled “Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants” and was awarded to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in October 2003.

It was filed four years earlier, in 1999, by a group of scientists from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), which is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

As per a lot of what has been said by Killary, and regarding the TPP article where she avows to stop it, I am not falling for it. Most of us know she is a vote seeker, and saying these things is to get folks to vote for her and not Jill. Once her Nonesuch is in the WH and enthroned, she will go full support for the TPP and other agreements, and continue the war on Marijuana.

This year we saw her and her cronies stomp all over Democracy, or any illusion we had left that we actually had one. Time the Establishment, corporate ass kissing parties took a hike and died off like the dinosaurs.

So long, and thanks for all the fish

during the primaries/caucuses she repeatedly said she wanted to make pot illegal again, even in colorado & washington--which probably had a lot to do with the margins she lost by in those states.

it should be fun to watch her surrogate-hacks try to square that circle.

We find that Hillary's spokesperson ALSO made this little announcement...

We applaud the steps taken today by the Obama Administration to remove research barriers that have significantly limited the scientific study of marijuana,

Yeah, I know exactly where this road leads. Isolate, Patent, Monopolize, Criminalize.

Corporate slime see much benefit, but only if THEY are the ones controlling the gates. They did it in WA, where the price has increased tenfold, right across the damn river... (From what my WA friends tell me, so grain of salt is appropriate. In addition it's harder to get medical since now the price has increased for a medical card as well. Same Source)

Edit: The anecdotal evidence I quoted was not verified when I searched online. Struck it out, since I can't verify.

for the retraction.
Prices in Washington, even with their high taxation system, are very reasonable compared to states with no medical or recreational laws.
Was just in Colorado a couple of weeks ago. Awesome bud at ridiculously great prices. When top shelf is going for around $200 an oz, what's the problem?
Unless of course you grow your own.
It's fun and not that hard.

back in 1968 we could usually get the very best bud for $10/oz, and that would have been through the underground, with everyone raking off a little profit. Granted, everything has gone up and there are lots of readily-accessible new weed varieties, but it should be possible to do better than $200/oz even with taxes.

from 1968 is $70 now, and the grass is up to (possibly over) 20 times as strong. plus, indoor growing ops, where a lot of the best of the best grass is being produced, are a bit more expensive than growing on a couple of acres, with a smaller yield.

i'd love an ounce for $200, the last oz of good nugget i bought was almost the size of my head and lasted me probably 8 months.

However, from what I understand, Clinton's stated policy on this seems to drop pot to a schedule II, which is still heavily regulated, and under a prescription/abuse watches. (Assuming of course we can believe her and that she won't simply continue Obama's policies)

Which is absolutely ridiculous, and an obvious power grab over the stuff by Corporate America. I imagine Pot being on the same level as addictive substances like Morphine and a bit nervous, because Cops still kill people they suspect of being high on schedule II drugs, and the propaganda machine has been out in full force for quite some time about "Prescription Drug Abuse"

Hope this is a bit clearer than my exhausted and angry rant last night.

I don't believe it for a minute. She only evolves on a subject when the wind blows a certain direction. That direction is when it benefits her chances of getting elected. Switching to Schedule II does nothing to in anyway reduce the people being thrown in for profit prisons. Just last October she was even hedging on the perceived benefits of medical marijuana saying we still need more research to see what/if benefits are actually valid.

When it came to legalization, she answered a flat "No". She would never allow legalization and she has stated she believes the criminal justice system will always have a role to play in marijuana use.

Like every other positions she claims, this one is just another in long stream of lies and obfuscation. Weasel words from a pathological liar. Her interest in marijuana is limited solely to how it benefits her friends in the pharmaceutical industry.

“Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.”
George W. Bush

What is generally meant by this is that a state or small group of states will "test" the theories of law enforcement and public experience over such a controversial subject (think gay marriage, for instance, or open abortion back in the late '60s), so that the problems and advantages can be compared long before every state gets into the situation. It's a poor choice of words, but it does tend to describe the experimental nature of allowing some states to "practice' before everyone has to get involved.

The minute it becomes a Schedule II drug she's going to up the penalties for anyone caught using it for recreational use, not let them alone.

She's a fucking liar and just the other day she was applauding Obama for his stances on marijuana and the raids.

Fuck. Her.

There's rumors in the industry that we soon will not be allowed to sell high CBD because the Feds or FDA. I'm on a break from work so not sure what the hell is going on.
