Snopes Confirms "Internet Rumor" that Shawn Lucas, who served Fraud Complaint on DNC, is Dead

Shawn Lucas, the man who served process on the DNC (i.e., a copy of the complaint and other associated pleadings required by court rules) regarding a class action lawsuit alleging fraud against Bernie sanders contributors by the DNC and DWS, has been confirmed dead by Snopes.

Odd that no major media outlet looked into this story. Snopes reported on it because they initially saw it as an "internet rumor" that required exposure as a hoax or confirmation as true. Well, I guess we can stop calling it a rumor at least.

The rumor spread on Facebook, Reddit, and Twitter, where many users were concerned that Lucas' death may have been connected to his role as the process server for the DNC lawsuit. Some versions asserted Lucas was the "lead attorney" on the case, but we were unable to corroborate that claim. Lucas was named in a motion [PDF] filed on 22 July 2016 by the DNC, seeking to dismiss the suit on partial grounds of improper service.

We contacted Lucas' employer on 4 August 2016 to ask whether there was any truth to the rumor. According to an individual with whom we spoke at that company, Shawn Lucas died on 2 August 2016. The audibly and understandably shaken employee stated that interest in the circumstances of Lucas' death had prompted a number of phone calls and other queries, but the company had not yet ascertained any details about Lucas' cause of death and were unable to confirm anything more than the fact he had passed away.

Another link from, to me a heretofore unknown news outlet: http://www.morningnewsusa.com/shawn-lucas-confirmed-dead-found-lying-on-...

No other traditional media outlet shows up on Google with coverage of this story, not even his hometown paper. Go run a Google search on his name. You would think there is some kind of media blackout or something, but that would obviously be tin foil hat territory that we should not go into. #snark

this year regarding people associated with the DNC or the Clinton campaign in some way, including the murder of Seth Rich, who worked for the DNC as a "self-described" data analyst. There are a number of unusual things regarding his death, including the fact that none of his personal items, including his wallet, was taken by whoever killed him, despite the motive for his homicide initially being described as an attempted robbery.

The person I spoke to yesterday who sent me the information on how Ryan Hughes acted while director of the Michigan campaign initially was willing for me to publicly identify them, but upon hearing of Mr. Lucas' death called me back before I posted that testimony asking for anonymity. That person was clearly afraid after learning of Mr. Lucas' death. I cannot even tell you why they were so spooked, but know that I was given a very specific reason by them that they stated justified their fear. It was not a tin foil hat reason either. If I told you the reason that person could be identified easily. That's all I can tell you.

Shot in the back multiple times, with bruises indicating he fought for his life. Killed apparently walking home at about 4:19 am. Supposedly, was on the phone with his girlfriend when he was shot. At about 4:19 am??

https://heatst.com/politics/dnc-staffer-seth-rich-shot-dead-conspiracy-t...

If the killer(s) took anything from him, no one knows what it could have been.

Related? Coincidence? ¿Quién sabe?

We may never know.

How an idealist could work for the DNC in the first instance is a question in my mind.

Police have not identified a suspect and say there is absolutely no indication that politics were involved in the killing.

Why the hell make a statement like that? There is no indication politics were not involved, either. Police are supposedly thinking it's a robbery gone bad, but there's no evidence of that, either. Nothing was taken.

http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Man-Shot-Killed-in-Northwest-DC-...

Rich lived in the neighborhood, police told a news conference Monday. He worked as a voter expansion data director for the DNC, whose chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz issued a statement Monday.

Snopes is one of the sites that has sought to debunk evidence-less claims that Rich was about to collaborate with the FBI or was bumped off by a Clinton “hit” team. Heat Street is another.

People in the US from 15 to 44 years old have about a 1/1000 chance of dying in any given year.

Top causes in these age groups include poisoning, suicide, homicide, accidents (weird; I wonder if poisoning includes drug overdose?).

So, if young people working around the Clintons number about 3000, then 3 deaths per year is about what you can expect.

would be reported like this? Or would we have tremendous sympathy and that's all, because we don't expect the Bern organization to break the law? Actually technically, the paper server is a Bernie supporter.

And a baby that looked like Bernie died. Aww! http://www.cnn.com/2016/03/03/politics/bernie-baby-dies/

But that's all I can find on Google right now, as most is devoted to Shawn Lucas at this point.

Anyway, I agree with other posters that each death of unknown cause, particularly of a young person, should be thoroughly investigated. I just don't think we have to panic.

about this case.

I am wondering how long it will take to get an autopsy report that one could consider "reliably reflecting the facts".

The darn thing is that sometimes you can't even trust the labs to do their jobs professionally or unencumbered by outside pressures.

Just wonder how well the camera man knew Shawn Lucas.

I hate all this stuff. I hate the internet and I hate the fact that everything can be manipulated, falsified, drowned in the digital mud and people are just hopeless to ever know what's true and what's not.

if an autopsy will even be done, or if so, the report made public.

I've seen autopsies refused in similar cases until publicity in major media resulted is forcing the authority's hand.

This story is literally only getting attention in "fringe" outlets or on social media. I suspect the reason for his death will never be made public absent a great deal of MSM publicity, or the family hiring their own forensic expert to perform an autopsy.

Only if there is reason to suspect suspicious circumstances. Here's a list for Florida:
https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20060630075119AA51gJT

Obviously, Mr. Lucas was not a child, so his death would have to fall under one of the other circumstances, such as those indicating suicide, homicide, evidence of the reckless of negligent conduct by others that led to his death, etc. So far we've seen no indication any of those circumstances were present. The only one that you can hang your hat on is "unexpected death by otherwise healthy person." but that is left to the discretion of the Medical Examiner who generally do not perform autopsies if they believe (or are led to believe) natural causes are the explanation for the death:

An autopsy is not normally performed when the death appears to be from natural causes, adequate medical history exists, and there are no indications of foul play. The Medical Examiner often receives such cases only because the attending physician is not in Florida and cannot sign a Florida death certificate or the person has never been to a physician.

As far as I know the police have yet to release any report that would indicate reasons requiring an autopsy. Lack of media coverage, of course, would allow them to just wrap the case up as a death by natural causes. That would be the easiest, quickest way to dispose of the case and get it off their caseload.

The family could pay for an independent autopsy. Whether they will or not depends a great deal on whether they can afford it. The longer one waits to do an autopsy, the more likely evidence of foul play would be so degraded it would be impossible to detect.

There's nothing "tinfoil hat" about this at this point, though the news blackout will, in fact end, now that Snopes has weighed in. The ridiculing of suspicious ex-Democrats will begin shortly.

Occam, people. These people are all connected to an organization where we have seen demonstrable proof of election fraud, over and over and over.

If all the principals die, there's no more investigation of election fraud. If one or two more people turn up dead, nobody else will pick up the case and run with it. Because you just never know what might happen to you....

What difference does it make? Keep repeating the same lies, refuse to have a press conference, try to scare people, rinse & repeat.

He said things like she did not intend to betray the US or something of the kind.

Since when is that a standard for mishandling information that was "above top secret?"

As far as not intending to violate the law, that is also bs. "Ignorance of the law is no excuse" is another way of saying that you don't even have to know the law exists in order to be found guilty.

His attempts to exonerate her were downright laughable.

"That's really the bottom line here. And I have said during the interview and many other occasions over the past months, that what I told the FBI, which he said was truthful, is consistent with what I have said publicly," Clinton explained Friday. "So I may have short-circuited it and for that, I, you know, will try to clarify because I think, you know, Chris Wallace and I were probably talking past each other because of course, he could only talk to what I had told the FBI and I appreciated that."

I doubt they could drop it at this point. Not unless they want 2 million people suing them. Seems we have an binding agreement with them now to represent us! I doubt they would really want to drop this suit. This has got to be a cash cow for them! How could they lose? It will probably never go to trial and the DNC will come to some agreement to settle out of court, but either way it goes, I expect it to cost them a large sum of money and the attorneys surely wouldn't want to miss out on their cut!

to get back to the links. I take my whole comment back. I don't know why you linked to those videos. They had nothing to do with my reaction.

I understood your comment to mean that the person you called the "nutter, who made the video" as being the videographer Ricardo O. Villalba, the man who filmed the "serving the papers to sue the DNC with the class action suit for fraud."

Then I understood your words that you believed that I may believe that that cameraman has something to do with the death of Shawn Lucas.

In my mind that connection you had made (at least that's how I interpreted your comment) enraged me.

So, I am now more confused what you did refer to with the "nutter who made that video" and to which video you referred.

For me this is over. As I already said, I apologized to you, because it seems that I misunderstood your comment.
