Nina Turner's FB page is interesting this morning

Nina Turner posted an article about her possible run with the Green Party and the Stein ticket this morning on her FB page. I think she might be testing the waters.

Please, go send her some LOVE on her FB page, and counteract what looks to be the CTR concern trolls there.

***UPDATE***

It appears that post from earlier this morning was taken down. I have no other information.

Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.

Not on fb, but good to read what's happening.

Nina and Tulsi are my heroes. Strong, honest women. So we aren't surprised the Clintons are afraid of them.
Thanks again for the links.

Here is the article that Nina Turner linked on her FB page.

Filmmaker Josh Fox talked about the cultural differences between the supporters of the campaigns. He nailed it: the Clinton delegates were dressed in suits and expensive dresses, while the Sanders delegates were in shorts and t-shirts.

It makes some really good points and also an observation I made here yesterday. Below is my observation.

And what struck me was how the Clinton delegates all looked alike. It did not matter if they were male or female, black or brown or white, young or old. They all looked alike, beautifully dressed to the nines with perfectly coifed hair and makeup for the women. They all looked like very financially successful business types or politicians. It was in stark contrast to the Bernie people who looked like regular people you would see every day on the street or in a store.

Interesting observations. I keep getting these signals, both in policy and rhetoric, but also in a more intangible way that we are fighting back two Republican parties. The bat shit crazy one that hates anyone who doesn't look like a Norman Rockwell character. And the one who SAYS all the right things, but is just as greedy and powerful as the other one.

The conventions only brought those signals out into sharp relief.

This article and your comment zero in on the the split in both parties. There is a professional class and working class. Populist messages have resonated in both parties and Americans are wandering in the desert on which direction they should take in the future. The limousine liberals in the Democratic Party share the same economic philosophy with the Republicans. They split on social issues.

If a candidate can get a broad message on economic justice and a unifying way forward, they will win this election in a landslide. 2010 and 2014 were Congressional elections, but a populist message of change drove those elections. We have four choices, two are for change and two for the status quo.

Let's spread the message of choice and change.

I follow the link but get her main page.

I do not see a story on her considering running as Green in any election.

Don't know why. I posted to it and then shortly thereafter found I could not post replies to Hillbots. Then when I reloaded the page I got the page could not be found message. Make of that what you will.

It was there at 7:30am. Now when I go back to some of the replies I got on the post in my notifications, the screen is blank.

Hmmmm...that's disappointing. I wonder what happened?

Thank you for the link to the article. Those video interviews were powerful, informative.
Especially thank you, I'd never have found that article. Have almost stopped looking at the "usual sources" and now building up a new bookmark collection.
Thank you.

Hi,

Here is the story on US Uncut

She has been offered VP and is considering it. Convention starts Thursday, so answer will be soon.

Potentially tough decision for a young politician. Huge opportunity/profile point if they can swing it...but could be D-Party suicide for further offices unless GP or other new coalition party forms to oppose the D's.

If she chooses to work from within the D's she could easily get US congressional seat or more with Bernies inside revolution. But is that a lost cause?

Inside the gate, or outside the gate? as Brother West would say.

Nina is as sincere as you can find. She went with her conscience--and will refuse to abdicate it for a part of the D party. Furthermore the Queen Bee will never allow someone who can speak so forcefully against her, anywhere near the Party.
Fine with me. Run, Nina, run...Let's have some fun.

She's on Clinton's shit list, her political career is done unless a) Clinton goes down in flames or b) Nina builds a new career outside.

Just what I was about to say. Of course, that's if The People permit Clinton to cheat her way in, in which case the world is going up in flames either shortly thereafter or more gradually, over decades, from global corporate extraction of everything from everywhere and everybody else, and of unlimited industrial pollution...

this morning with a quote that has no link to the article and can be taken out of context.

Jill Stein claims, "If you have to lose an election in order to establish your power, you have to do that."

I have no idea what she meant by this because there isn't a link to put in context. But the diarist decided that it means gloom and doom and all the bots agreed with him in the comments.

I love it when someone like Jill Stein calls for a revolution in which their own life and comfort is NOT AT RISK. This type of attitude reads to me like, “If it can’t be a flawless, pure and perfect representation of my opinion, then people other than me should die for the cause.” Call me intolerant, but I hate fundamentalism and the quest for ideological purity.
How many women's deaths, with the loss of Planned Parenthood and the Affordable Care Act under Trump, would it take to extinguish the raging fire of Jill Stein's willful ignorance?
Are we to ignore the catastrophic and long term risks to the environment that Trump poses?
Since when is the elimination of all environmental regulation an acceptable outcome?

Many of the diaries about Stein say that she will get things done by using executive orders, but then think that a president Trump is going to accomplish these things by himself while congress just sits by and lets him.
I have already debunked her being an anti vaxxer but they came up in the comments again.
Sigh, when all you have is fear of the other candidate, then imo, your candidate is very weak.

that Christian Conservatives and Tea Partyers used to consolidate their power within the Republican Party. Until they got their way on social issues, they were more than willing to sit out elections and let their party lose. So, they lost some elections internally and to Dems externally but it was a price they were willing to pay. Notice how they didn't succumb to scare tactics about Democratic boogiemen, they were playing the long game.

This is what Liberals have always not had the guts to do and how we positively re-inforced the rightward movement of the Democratic Party by always voting for them as the lesser evil. The vote that was the MOST loyal to the Dems was the scorned progressive element, because we have always been the biggest suckers.

I don't know if it will make the MSM but my wife had the local news on just a little bit ago and they had a piece on about how our county elections registration office has had a surge the last couple days of people switching their party affiliation.

I didn't see it on their website yet but if I do I will try to remember to post a link to the story.

The repeating refrain from "The man on the street" interviews boiled down to, "People are pissed".

Then they switch to the head of the local democratic party and he was all, "Unity" "Great to see the party coming together finally and getting behind Hillary" etc...

The level of denial in the Democratic Party goes from top to bottom...

It's their Big Lie PR routine, setting up for their General election cheat, if they get away with the blatant and provable nomination cheat.

you changed mentions of Jill to Hill. Of course the TOPbots will say that Jill caused their loss to the Orangeface--deflecting some blame from Bernie, whom they will most certainly blame for HRC's hopeful defeat.

I looked it up and we don't have PP here, so I can feel good about not donating to them any more. The local health department does birth control, family planning and all that.

PP is not the only possible game in town. Absolutely, if healthcare was a right, and if the lousy laws that allow doctors to get away with refusing to practice medicine were rescinded, then PP would not need to exist.

Of course, those are a lot of IFs.
