Philadelphia: A City That Inspires

A week in Philly was a massive dose of swirling inspiration and energy! So much of the protesting took place where this guy looked down on us as if he was an angel protecting us. William Penn's spirit still lives in our sacred national documents. When he set up the colony of Pennsylvania, he planted the seeds of free thought, individual conscience, and personal divine inspiration. From those seeds grew the ideas of Ben Franklin, George Washington, Thomas Paine, and more.

I am starting with him here because I believe he would approve of Jill Stein speaking below his image. I watched as she got onto the Occupy DNC stage with Black Men for Bernie and she gave hugs all around. This city of brotherly love was the perfect setting for her message.

At The People's Convention, she spoke in the Arch Street Meeting House which stood on land given to the Quakers by William Penn. Again, a fitting place for her words of peace and progress.

Nina Turner was there as well and respectfully took time to mingle through the crowds on Penn's gifted garden.

But what was the most powerful force through all of it, was that the political revolution has gotten even stronger. I could feel it in the people, the protesters, and just walking through the streets. We are bound with the voices and spirits of America's first revolution -- and I believe it will continue to get stronger.

The DNC has made many mistakes. But, their biggest was to draw the protesters to Philadelphia where we could partake of William Penn's fruits. It was an invigorating meal for our cause and strengthened our fortitude.

I intend to expand further on these ideas in the coming weeks and I look forward to your lively arguments and comments.

...and so were the protests. The DNC is clueless and they have lost the next generation of young voters. I hope the young folks mostly go green! Some people suggest Jill came out the winner in Philly.

“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”

But this country would do well to take a heavy dose of Quakerism. It wold be a huge improvement to walk away from war and towards equality of all mankind as the Quaker readings suggest.
