I am really looking forward to this one. I wonder what topics they are gonna touch on besides the obvious.
I don't see Dr. West taking a "kid gloves" type of approach to the discussion and I am wondering if maybe she is going to be naming him as on her short list for a running mate? That would be quite a coup for the greens if they can start poaching such well known progressive Democrats away from the party.
The Greens and PIP both need to gain as much legitimacy as possible and one big step towards that is getting well known progressive champions to back our side.
On a side note, I volunteered to run as a PIP candidate for the 2018 cycle in Florida. I hope with my organizing and history of holding upper level elected positions in AFSCME/AFLCIO and public speaking experience that they consider me.
I am done with sitting on the sidelines waiting for some good candidates to step forward. That is just lazy on my part, if I have the necessary abilities and drive to do so I shouldn't expect others to do it for me. 
Anyway, I hope to see you guys here for the press conference, hopefully it is a juicy one!

I am from practically everywhere, Kinda like Clinton, lol!
I was Born and raised in NJ, then escaped to Lake Tahoe in the very early 90's.
Lived in California for a couple years too, then went back to Northern Nevada when I took a job working in Corrections.
After sustaining an injury to my spinal cord I could no longer retain my certification as a peace officer under POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) so I was forced into a medical retirement after 13 years in the system and relocated to SW Florida.
Fear of trying new things or starting over someplace thousands of miles from my friends and family has never been an issue for me. I never had much trouble making more friends and when you live in Florida you would be surprised with how many friends and family now come to visit you! (My house is jokingly referred to as the Casa de Dego resort by my friends, lol!)

I was the assistant press secretary for Robert Reich in Boston
before Romney became Gov., and am familiar with Fla., and could be useful in a similar press capacity.
Considering I know absolutely nothing about the actual
day to day of a campaign and whatnot I would be honestly grateful for whatever help or advice I can get.
If PIP takes off hopefully I will be running under them, if not then maybe as a green, but whatever tent I am in I will be running for something even if it is only a city/county level position.
I absolutely will have to get some professional advice on what races/positions would be the most viable choice and whatnot.
There is a lot I need to figure out before the end of 2017 that is for sure.

I was privileged to meet Cornel West
when he came to Occupy Tallahassee and spoke to us. He is a genuinely warm human being. Even though he was on a tight schedule he still found time to talk to us as a group and with us individually before giving a speech at Florida State University. Dr. West's sincerity and passion impressed the heck out of me. I agree that he was motivated by his beliefs to endorse Dr. Jill Stein.

That press conference was the equivalent of inviting someone to
dinner and then handing them a single leaf of lettuce when they arrive.
No wonder the greens have been spinning their wheels for so long, they really are gonna need a lot of help from us but this just reaffirms my belief that moving past 2016 our goal needs to be to build a new party.
We can still form a coalition with them and aid them with growing but this is a perfect example of why they have a reputation of being an amateur hour outfit.
That doesn't mean I don't agree with their policy, I just think they need a massive amount of support, particularly in media production and press interaction.

I am not mad at them for it, just saddened that at the level they are playing they have so little production and preparation. It does not bode well at all for the race.
This could have been a MAJOR opportunity for Jill to put together something that would have gone viral.

You know what really sucks with stuff like this
in politics (in particular)? You can't just decide someone's unprofessional or unprepared anymore. Shit like this can happen from sheer incompetence--or it could be a hack, half-assed sabotage, well-poisoning or dirty trick. Who the fuck really knows anymore?
In such an event I would feel it would look better to make a
quick "This is what happened, we are trying to fix it but will reschedule the Press conference for X" rather than something that could only reinforce the public perception (warranted or not) that the Green party is ineffectual.
A new party won't have that initial preconceived notion to overcome at least.
Labels are important and what that is at best is a live announcement with a sole interviewer, but not even remotely close to an actual press conference.
It doesn't change my plan to vote for Stein but I really hope the Berners media brigade gets on board with them soon after the convention, there is a LOT of talented people out there that she can tap into, so it is still early to prejudge her entire campaign on this one event for sure.

What angers me about it, is the fact that they just could have set up both in a studio, taped the interview of both, make it a press conference and post it on the internet after having processed the videos. Why does everything need to be live streamed? The world will survive it, if the event is posted a couple of hours or a day later. And if you have a mini townhall meeting style Q&A session, at least they should be equipped to set up the microphones in a way that you can clearly hear everybody.

it actually doesn't need the polish, but it needs sound ...
video polish is often used to manipulate the emotions of the listeners and I am quite sensitive to a way people cut a video. Visuals are a yuuuge tool for manipulation. In that sense I prefer non polished raw material (if I can get it) than the polished final product, cause I trust video editors as little as I trust skilled manipulative word smiths. Propaganda is propaganda. Both Stein and West have never really gone that route. They have their own voice, very distinctive one, imo.

I think it may be on my side and I just need to attach extra speakers on my laptop. I am in the middle of a chaos and my regular PC, which has a bit better speakers, is packed in a box. And I do know that the lack of broadband for the live stream was not a thing the Revolutionary TV outlet was responsible for. So, peace and love and hugs to all who want all of it.
