If Bernie is going to endorse her, he owes his millions

of supporters to not do so standing alongside Hillary where we have to see her. She repulses me. I can't stand to watch or listen to her.

He should be by himself and talk to his supporters and tell us why he chose to not keep his word and take his campaign to the convention.

If he does drop out today, one theory I have is people have convinced him that all the marches in Philly will be too dangerous, and if he drops out, less people will participate.

I have a very high opinion of Bernie Sanders. Unless proven otherwise, I will, as I have in the past, attribute a noble motive to any decision made by Senator Sanders. In my opinion, he has earned that. He is not Hillary Clinton or Mitch McConnell, whose motives are almost always suspect. Bernie is one of the few politicians I trust. At least for me, my "default position" is that Bernie acts with morality.

If "we must stop Trump" is the upshot of Bernie's remarks, then I can live with that. I echo your sentiment....please, no joined hands, raised in triumph. If he feels that Trump is that much worse than her (if so, that's probably the only issue where Bernie and I part ways.) then make it anti-Trump, make it a tepid "Hillary is the best way to stop Trump". But the "raised hands" image that you conjured up is hard enough on my brain...I can't imagine having to look at the real thing.

The problem with that

is he would just reinforce the lesser of two evils and you have nowhere to go visegrip that has brought us to this place. He knows that. Frankly, there is nothing Sanders could have said in support of Clinton that would not diminish my respect for him. That is not to say that I have lost all respect for him, just that when it came to the final push, he chickened out. This is the problem that has eviscerated the left- the ultimate bourgeois cowardice at taking a strong stand. So sad to see Bernie succomb to it.

This is the fifth time Sanders has been put on notice, and each time, the list of flagged contributions has grown. In February, the FEC’s letter was just 95 pages long. By April, it had hit 650 pages, and the FEC’s letter for May—which was also filed Sunday, a bit late—reached 778. While it’s hard to pin down exactly how much money Sanders might have to return, a rough calculation—the total amount donated by the cited contributors minus the legal limit for each—indicates it could be in the neighborhood of $500,000, a relatively small sum for a campaign that’s raised nearly $230 million.

As Russell Berman wrote in May, these notices don’t mean the Sanders campaign has done anything illegal. It’s more likely a symptom of his quick and unexpected rise—the donations flooded in before the Vermont senator had the infrastructure in place to handle them. Yes, Hillary Clinton hasn’t had this problem, but she's more experienced—and more reliant on big-money bundlers, who collect donations from like-minded friends and are intimately familiar with campaign finance law.

First thought upon waking this morning is that today is THAT day

Sigh...

Thankfully, my second thought was about the hungry kitten who is always STARVING by the time I rouse, so off to get his food to him. He now has a full tummy and has spent 20 minutes running in delighted circles, so he's ready for his first nap.

My Dad died this year the day ahead of Super Tuesday (when we voted). It helped that I was able to see Bernie in town a couple days ahead of that while I was waiting for the news (he lived half a country away). My input, assistance and emotions have been anathema to the better part of his life. I believe there will be amends in whatever the afterworld is.

Today feels like another death is looming - of hope and fairness and of having someone understand the challenges of my situation in the abstract if not in particular... My heart is heavy. I am ashamed of how my country is behaving. We (collectively) are acting against our own best interests, and that of the world.

Bernie has a hope too...

He's said from the beginning that this isn't about him, but us. "not me, us." If you all will allow me to speculate on the man's thoughts, He's hoping that we'll get out, get active and get involved. Many millions have but we have to continue to be that hope. It's up to us- Bernie will still be Bernie- he holds some serious cards still in the Senate and hopefully has traded up for more with this endorsement, whatever form it may take. I've been so torn since it became clearer that he would not be the nominee(still a path, however narrow, but it's been ever narrowing). Point being, we have to continue hoping for what he fought for- we have to be that hope.

PS lost my father earlier this year as well. Quite a year: so full of hope and yet sorrow at the same time.

Hope is the thing.

Yes, we must keep up hope. I hope that people who are disappointed that Bernie will most likely not be the nominee, that there was clear and open hanky-panky by the Hilary side in the process, and that Bernie will be working more or less with Clinton's people to assure it is not Trump on the throne, will remember that Bernie is still Bernie. He is not doing anything for nefarious reasons. He is pushing, reaching, arguing until the end for the Best he can wrest from the Party machine, he will continue the fight, he is a man of his word and he gave that word up front (not to run Independent, to be a "good" Democrat, etc.). Bernie has not abandoned us, the revolution, his principles. He is fighting as hard as possible and will do so until the day he leaves this earth. What each of us does is up to us.

My great sympathy and empathy for your loss Kurichan. I lost my father some years back, as well. My mother, now 87 years young, will most likely outlive us all (her grandmother lived to be 96). Best wishes to you.

Funny, I had a dream last night...

it was Hillary who stood up and ended her campaign in the best interest of the country. She spoke about the division, the forth coming investigations and even the impeachment hearings the republicans will surely bring against her. She said she was stepping down and asked all of her supporters to rally behind and support Senator Sanders, that he was the one who could bring true to change to our country. And then I woke up...

Back to the reality that Hillary Clinton wouldn't step down from what she thinks is "her turn". I tried so hard to go back to sleep and pick up that dream where I left off. No such luck. Reality overtook me. But it felt damn good while it lasted!

we've all been hijacked, period. Why blame the guy who got cheated? He didn't do it.

I'm pissed that he won't stand up for it and put his life on the line if he has to, but the fact that he won't rather indicates exactly how bad things have gotten. Our government is completely fucked, and none of us has much time to cry about it at this point, if we're to fight anything. Otherwise, we might as well all just give up and stop paying attention at all.

sure are talking about Trump a lot. I guess Bernie will do the same. We'll see. It can't just be positive about Hillary. Have to talk about scary Trump. I think I just heard Shaheen say "He wants to spread nuclear weapons around the world." and "It's scary."

They couldn't be more obvious.

That is exactly what they are doing. Insofar as I know, this has never happened before.

ABC, right? the least objective of all the openly biased networks. They've clearly been in the tank for Hillary from the beginning. Yet the support for Bernie is overwhelming.

Hopefully someone got what was really going on with their phone and we can hear it all on youtube or some such.
