Please, Bernie Supporters...

I'm begging you to watch this video.
There are too many here perpetuating the untruth that Bernie has lost. It isn't so.
THe democratic party has stolen the primary from the man we wanted, the man who won.
This is far from a long shot for Bernie.
Please watch this video. I have work to do, but I wanted to get this here for us all. I can't wait to talk about this with anyone interested, but I will not be convinced that this is over. Please join me.

Still weeks from the Convention, much can happen
and tickles in every day. I am willing to Stay the Course, but know that alternatives must be discussed and begun. Multi-pronged, bottom-up strategies, as many as possible.
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
I agree with you, Riverlover,
Just not to the exclusion of truths that we absolutely have to talk about right now.
Thank you.

wow who the fuck is this woman and how have I missed her
I had the very same thought when I heard that Jill was not allowed to speak. And when I listened to Naomi Klein I was so disappointed in what she was saying that I had to stop before the end.
Yes, they stole the election and installed Killery -- why are we not talking about this.
I am way more afraid of her than drumph. I know what she has done and believe that she will continue with regime change and more war and so much more.
How and what can we do to continue? There are so many people who want to, have the energy to, believe that we must.
Santa Cruz county was the ONLY county in CA that went for Bernie the night of the election. The only little island of Bernie on the map. We worked our asses off and we informed every NPP voter we could on how to vote for Bernie. We had people trained as poll workers who helped NPP voters vote for Bernie the day of the election. We made our own fliers on how to vote if your were an NPP and fucking stapled them to every door hanger. We did a lit drop at 4:30 am on Tue morning to make sure again that people were informed. We were fucking awesome. And I rarely use that word.
And we really can't just stop and say: Killery cause FEAR. fuck this shit

Debbie releases a monologue most days. I enjoy her take, but like the rest of us she has her own views.
Naomi Klein has done a lot of great work. She doesn't just pontificate, she does stuff. She's Canadian. Are you familiar with their LEAP manifesto?

It is an out and assault on the people. We all know California voters were all in for Bernie.
They do these things right in front of our eyes. It almost seems like they are trying to provoke the people. I see the pictures and videos of our militarized police, all spiffied up with actual military tools, a gift from our government, and wonder if they are itching for an excuse to hurt a whole lot of people. I'm afraid of them.

Trump is a decoy.
Debbie was good, but it needs to be noted that "Omigod Trump" is in complete ignorance of Donald Trump's failed campaign and the zero-percent chance he'll win:

Republicans were attracted to Trump because their own party is a bunch of idiots funded by the Koch brothers and Trump presented an alternative. Now that they're out of the way, Trump is revealed for what he is: the entertainment world's gift to the Clinton Foundation.

I have to agree, Cassiodorus,
I have no references, but am hearing rumors that that is was planned this way. Between Billy and Donny.

Exactly Cassiodorus
Trump is a decoy. There is only one party. Party of Greed, Corruption and War.
I'll still fight for Sanders... but having my vote stolen right out from under me due to registration fraud has me .... beyond angry that we even pretend there's such a thing as an election. And it's not just me. So many people have not been allowed to vote.
It's not an election. It will be a coronation of corruption. I fear what will come next.
I want to have hope.. but right now we're just planning to prepare our home. Live a more sustainable life and lifestyle.

Who is the person in the video, and what is her point?
A quick summary would be nice. Not just "please watch this video." It's 21 minutes long, and whoever is talking doesn't state her case up front.
"We've done the impossible, and that makes us mighty."
Point
That our people's revolution movement should not just consider changing Dem Party from within, but also should put 3rd party on table. Came out of Jill Stein of Green Party being banned from recent high profile People's Summit.

OK, I'm just gonna come right out and say it
any "People's Summit"--high profile or not--with people who "ban" the GREEN PARTY, those are not honest actors, IMO. Either that, or they see Jill Stein as a bad actor.
Because that just made no sense to me when I first read it. There are LOTS of bad actors out there. We need to get a lot better at seeing them, because divide and dilute has kicked in these last couple weeks. We've seen that movie before.
Hi Lunachickie,
Do you ever worry about not trusting the right people and ending up completely wrong?
I do. It seems so hard after being let down over and over again to believe anything but my instinct, which I can't be sure is fair. I'm getting to where I often form an immediate opinion about people. I don't want to shut anyone out, I just don't want anyone to fuck with me anymore.
It angers me that Ms. Stein was excluded.
'Well, I've wrestled with reality for thirty five years, Doctor, and I’m happy to state I finally won out over it." Elwood P. Dowd "
It angers me too
it angers me that nobody saw that for what it was. The Green Party has been established for years. Why on EARTH would the top of that party ticket be excluded?
When you see stuff like that, you run, as fast as you can, away from the bad actors. And you keep trying again and again and again until you get it right.
Nobody said this was going to be easy. In fact, it's going to be terribly challenging. But most importantly, you have to be willing to "shut out" those who claim to be good for you, but in their actions, do the complete opposite. No matter what they try to tell you. And if nothing else, you must try to harness your anger to the point where it galvanizes you to work harder, rather than get angry and give up. That's what TPTB want you to do--GIVE UP.
BTW, instinct is important. Your GUT is important
as a barometer. Sure, you can be wrong, but there's no shame in that. Thing is, if you really, truly are in touch with, and trust your instincts, you're usually not.
My instincts have done me well over my almost 60 years. It's usually not "instant", though the older I get, the easier it gets to see repeat patterns of behavior and even word usage patterns. The latter is the subject of a dissertation I very much hope to be able to write for an accredited program if I can find one that'll have me at this point in my life

Please forgive me, rmwarnick,
I have some limitations with my thought processes after a stroke. I have a difficult time organizing details the right way if I try to form a more in depth essay of any good length right now. I don't know why, but am slowly improving.
Guess i will practice more before I do this again. I also missed that someone else had already posted this video. I was afraid people would react this way.

Sane Progressive is exactly right.
You'll never 'fix' the Dem party. It is too crooked now. And Bernie ain't getting the nomination clearly. So it's time to start getting the word out to vote third party. If all of Bernie's supporters vote for the same third party, it could win. Why wait for this sham, rigged convention?

Hi CitizenofEarth,
This is the whole point I had for this essay. "And Bernie ain't getting the nomination clearly"?
It certainly isn't clear to me.
I cannot focus my attention on what I will do since Bernie is finished, because he isn't. And you will be hard pressed to convince me otherwise. I am, however, a teachable person and would be willing to digress if anyone could prove I'm wrong any more than you are right.
Be gentle, I'm not as smart as you are.

So what kind of a role should elections play?
If you criticize elections for being fraudulent, as Sane Progressive does, then you must believe that the people voting in an accurate and honest process is essential to good government. You would suppose that Government is meant to be not just for the people but also by the people. I'd like to suggest that that is a very, very new idea, at least as a serious political direction. (And even among the ancient Greeks, who gave us the term "democracy", the idea didn't last too long in the real world.) So the framers installed "representative democracy" which puts a "representative" between the people and the state (between the people and power.
Our government institutions are by this time well past their sell-by date. That includes not just the congress, but also the courts, and also the political parties (dem and rep).
There's a wonderful little story by Kafka called "The Judgement" in which the dutiful son lives at home caring for his ancient, frail and wobbly father. The two are locked together as father-and-son, yet they circle carefully around one another, each wary of the other's power. One night the son puts the father to bed, tucks him in, and the old guy asks "Have you got me covered?" (Multiple meanings intended by Kafka.) He repeats the question until the son answers, "I've got you covered." Immediately the father jumps up onto the bed in an astounding display of vigor, places one hand on the ceiling to steady himself and points at the son with the other hand, screaming, "No! You just thought you had me covered!. . ." Soon thereafter the son throws himself off a bridge, with his last words declaring his love for his father. (Very brief synopsis, sorry!)
The point is that even old, decrepit institutions don't give up their power despite being well past their sell-by date. We love them, after all. (Sane Progressive sees this.) And all those old, decrepit institutions, like the father in Kafka's story, though no longer "vigorous" are still very dangerous, dangerous for us. They can trip us up and lay waste to all of our best-intended plans. We bypass, dismiss or ignore them at our peril.
I would agree with most of Sane Progressive's criticisms of the People's Summit. From the videos, it looked and felt like just another "convention" and we've had too many of those. This was not the incubation of a Third Party.
But I think that Bernie may be about to make a rear-guard action. The democratic party won't be "transformed" into a party of the people. Jill Stein is right and everyone paying attention knows that. But that doesn't mean that the democratic party is now harmless. None of our discussions thus far is looking at the power of money. If the People's Party is to develop, it will be outside the established duopolies, but AT THE SAME TIME these existing institutions have to be held harmless, prevented from doing their usual stuff to neutralize ("absorb") the people's energies and will. These tremendous party machines, the political parties, also have to be prevented from giving rise to a real "shark"/dictator/autocrat, which we can watch coming about in the rep machine today. Bernie is to this extent an "insider" and that's good, good for progress.
I suggest that he sees his role going forward in this capacity, and not as a "leader" of a new political party, because that's for the people to do. Of course, if the snowball doesn't melt in hell and Bernie is nominated by the Dem's his job would be easier. (Another literary reminder--at the very depths of Dante's Inferno, where we finally find the prince of darkness himself, it's frozen, icy cold.)
(Apologize to C99 folks if this comment is too long! *unkw*)
It is in no way too long, EyeRound,

Shorter:
Actually, I thought it was a brilliant comment.
What's her point?
to use the electoral process, and by extension Congress, for change? I'm a speed read, it doesn't work well with videos.
That we should be...
screaming election fraud and consider a 3rd party. My take anyway.
My trick on these videos is to play them while I wash clothes, sweep, cook, ...inside chores. Works for me anyway.
“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
Thanks. Ya, there should be some good discussions about
third parties and their validity in this corrupt unrepresentative political system.
That's the way I have been most
of my life, Big Al. Have had some cognitive issues that have me more involved with videos these days.
To me, because I have followed Debbie for a little while, she hashes out some of her thoughts right there in the video. Sometimes I get her better as she continues to fling the hash, maybe even in her next video.
I seem to follow along well with her, and and HA Goodman. I like the way Tim Black puts things together, plus he is funny, that's always a plus in my book. I come across more here and there, and have forgotten many for the moment.
Also, to be honest, I love her because of the direction she gives my thoughts, and her points are less important to me than my own bunny trail mind adventures. Though I'm usually right there with her.

I didn't watch the video because
1) I am offended when someone names themselves the "sane" one in the room. That's not an assessment one can make for oneself. And it implies that anyone who doesn't see things your way is not sane. Which is a manipulative tool of persuasion. I wish we'd stop using this kind of rhetoric. Also, it's ableist. People who actually live with with mental illness don't need to have their conditions minimized and mocked liked this.
2) she says "crisises" and the word is "crises" - I know that one's petty. I was already put off by the "sane" proclamation.
That said, I agree with what people are saying the central message was: think about building a viable third party.

I can't do this now...
It's i:30 AM and I am wiped. But i want to say thanks & I'll read this tomorrow.
Sanders hasn't indicated that
he plans to continue what he started. At all. My guess is he's making "back room deals" with Team Clinton to get a prominent speech time - Prime Time - and get some of his ideas on the Platform. To get that he's going to need to snuggle up to Team Clinton - which includes "support" of HRC if not an outright endorsement.
That doesn't mean raising the white flag of surrender. It just is what it is. The "Bernie Movement" never was about Bernie. He said so himself. And meant it. Nobody I know has given up. Including Bernie. Those that have just weren't up for the fight. This is a four year deal. At least. Likely eight years or more. There's work to be done. Those that were simply hoping Bernie would win and we'd all get a pony were smoking something. Bernie or no Bernie 2018 awaits. As does 2020. Let's make Her Highness a one termer.

How about we keep her away from even one term?
And please, can we just dispense with these types of proclamations?
Nobody was "simply hoping Bernie would win and we'd all get a pony".
Maybe not, but there
have been a bunch that have given up once the going got tough. This was never going to be easy. Many bailed after the NY loss. Another bunch bailed after Cali. And Bernie hasn't exactly encouraged anyone to hang around. The MSM believes it's over, that the inevitable happened, Bernie's "revolution" a bust, a joke. BernieBros everywhere crawling back to mommy. But there still are enough of us left to prove them wrong.

giving up
that bunch you see giving up are maybe, as you say, looking for easier ways to mild the harsh. Most of the supporters I see are not in that bunch. Yes, we see it is a tough position, Most are realistic as to the short term punishment. The big but here is we are not giving up, giving in, nor squandering our enthusiasm for real change on a bunch of polls and msm hype. There is going to be a change, call it revolution or revolver or whatevah. Our goals are seeing improvements by sticking with the fight. That's the reward.
The idea that X percentage of them are factually
giving up, because some pollster said so, is completely unbelievable. And silly. Thank you for saying this so well:
Not to mention, perpetuating the bullshit "Bernie Bros" meme, as the commenter above did, is pretty disgusting, too....
Oh, there's no doubt
that there was a huge drop off in interest after NY. More after Cali. Hell, it was as if the Bernie Movement died as those Cali returns came in and it was clear Bernie was getting his ass handed to him. The silence was deafening. BernieBros left in droves. But, like I said, we have enough with who's left. And I wear my BernieBros badge with pride just to rub it in.

Agreed there are more fighters than riders in our corner. Tough to trip the big horse hill at this point, but we can find a way to make it stumble.
Just as important as Bernie being in it until the convention
is Hillary knowing that she can not win the general election without massive, massive election fraud. She has to know that we will vote for Jill Stein in large enough numbers to make it impossible for her to win if she is the Democratic nominee.
Beware the bullshit factories.
Oh, she'll beat the Trumpster
like a drum. Won't even be close. The good news about a blowout is the excellent chance of getting the Senate back. Hell, maybe even the House! But the Senate practically guaranteed. Which means McConnell can stick it up his ass, we'll have our SCOTUS.
That, sadly, is pretty much where the good news ends.

spend the money needed to win. Simple as that. The GOP honchos know it, the high rollers know it. Short of a high roller sugar daddy bankrolling his campaign the Trumpster is in the dumpster, stuck at 42%. Tops.
