New here and I must say, this blows away a Conservative Orange site!
To see on the FRONT PAGE Jill Stein in a POSITIVE light!
Amazing. Not having to bow down to the Orwellian Big Brother Party and to support its double-think is unbelievable. To see honest debates and discussions of the corporate-owned two party system without the "Your a right-wing troll" insults is highly encouraging.
I have long contended that the multi-national corporations and uber-wealthy set up both parties and purposely use wedge social issues to keep the people divided and pushed into serfdom. To be able and state freely that Hillary Reagan Clinton is actually to the RIGHT of Reagan today and not be censured for it is a breath of fresh air.
Quite frankly for the middle-aged and older people here like myself, we should be able to recognize that HRC is more conservative than Reagan (economically, more of a war hawk, Reagan supported amnesty, HRC supported deporter in chiefs policies)
We can NOT afford as the 99% to have HRC in the Whitehouse for eight years (Note: Bernie gave a MILD suggestion that Obama drifted too far to the right and should be primaried in 2012, the HRC supporters still use this to degrade Bernie). Should HRC occupy the whitehouse for eight years, the overton window will shift even further rightward.
Who here in the middle-aged or older bracket would have thought in 1980 that the DEMOCRATS would run a candidate to the RIGHT of Reagan?
Yes, HRC is more liberal on social policies, which is why a term coined by republicans in the 90s, a term progressives widely mocked, is now very appropriate. HRC is a "compassionate conservative"
After eight years of HRC, in 2024 a candidate like Martin O'Malley will be seen as an extreme left wing politician who has no place in the Democratic party, and the Democratic party will be nominating someone like Ted Cruz and the Democratic party will tell us to vote for him because ...wait for it ... Lesser of two evils!
Lesser of two evils have brought us a candidate to the RIGHT of Reagan, I can NOT be a part of that! I won't!
#BernieOrBust
#ImWithHerJillStein should Bernie be continuously cheated by a rigged system in the Democratic Party!

Welcome
It's nice to have you here! Your political analysis is spot-on correct, and...wait for it...
wait for it....
do you hear it?
It is the sound of guilt-mongering, cynical, insufferable Hillary trolls NOT trolling you!
It is indeed a refreshing change from the dank confines of DK. Have a look around, there's lots going on.
....aaaaaaand....
...now I have to go listen to Les Miserables again, thank you so so very much.

um sorry?
Wasn't really my intention to allude to that, but there's worse things to listen to on a June day, particularly if one is feeling anxious about the future....
Welcome and enjoy!
Welcome and enjoy!
Yes, you are not beholden to the random
rules of a rampant Rockefeller Republican.

Why do I have a sneaking feeling
that that designation is actually a bit unfair to the Rockefellers?
I think Hillary and her faction may actually be worse than the Rockefeller Republicans.

Allowing Jill Stein
Allowing Jill Stein disgussion is also something that seperates this place from "Kossacks for Sanders," because they banned me for defending her first letter. They still embrace the name Kossack afterall, and won't allow any non-dem views.
If thats the place I am thinking of
I just didn't like the technical layout of the site (reddit), as such I never bothered with it after glancing it.
I hope this comment doesn't cross some meta line. I am just saying the technical layout of the site I don't like. I am saying nothing of its content either way.
When I was a kid, Republicans used to red scare people, now it's the Democrats. I am getting too damn old for this crap!
I, also, have my problems with anyone using reddit.
I've made that clear several times hereabouts.
reddit attempted to be all things to all people, and (of course) failed miserably at it. (As Facebook eventually will, for the same reason.)

reddit works, but not as a blog
at least not a useful one.
To the extent it is designed:
It is best suited to one liners and sarcastic quips.
Sarcastic quips are my forté
but I still find reddit inscrutable/unusable.
I'm a regular there as well as here, and I can't see why there'd
be a problem with any critique of another site here that extends beyond format. (mods, correct me if I'm wrong, please) One of the things I appreciate most here is knowing I can speak my mind without self-censorship, mindful always of treating others as I would wish to be treated, even in disagreement.

I have never seen anyone
I have never seen anyone banned for meta. I personally think the domination of the left by partisan dem sites is as legitimate a topic of discussion as the rest of the corporate media, and personalities like Rachel Maddow, and Chris Matthews. I have only seen people banned for attacking mods and guilt tripping us for not supporting Hillary.
People have been banned from here?
I didn't know that.
I think it's extremely, extremely rare, only if it becomes clear
that they are trolls or spam.

Yeah,,,
i know.
No advocacy for 3rd party candidates is on the list of rules
on the right of that site. That reddit subthread, as its name implies, was created (in a hurry, as another lifeboat with a narrower purpose) specifically to support Sanders' campaign, so it's not hard to see why discussion of Stein would be a problem there. Even the person who threw together the site regrets the "Kossacks" part of the name, but there are issues with Reddit in changing it. There's been much discussion about that.
This site is much broader in purpose and scope. I find both places complementary. Together, they allowed me to cut my GOS habit with no withdrawal symptoms. But I can see why the format and other aspects there wouldn't appeal to all. It's designed for short and quick communications and responses, not essays and conversations, and it suits that function well, I think, as c99p suits lengthier postings and comments and creates a different sense of community.

Synergy is lacking elsewhere
Without cross-talk how can we hope to synthesize a potential path to a viable political movement. Bernie knows this: That's why he keeps welcoming those of us that are less likely to insist upon loyalty to the democratic party. It is oxymoronic to expect a bottom up movement to be directed from the top.
These few sentences of your comment
approximate my personal gospel, inasmuch as I have one. Or, well, maybe not the whole gospel, but these are a few of the commandments:
Thou Shalt Not Place Loyalty to an Authority Over the Honest Operations of One's Own Mind
Despite That, Thou Shalt Not Squelch Dissent, Honest Disagreement, or Debate
Despite *That*, Thou Shalt Not Tolerate Trolls. Thou Shalt Bar Him From Thy Presence, and Send Him Howling Into the Depths of Sheol, Or the Corner Office of Some Political Consultant.
All That Being Said, Thou Shalt Remember That Thy Mind Does Not Always Possess the Truth.

You can thank (blame) me for that rule.
I left as soon as it was posted. I couldn't see staying somewhere that continued the censorship we were fleeing. it is a very good site for what they do, but it is not conducive to open discussions.
I thoroughly enjoy c99 as I can play devil's advocate and get healthy responses. Also, i am learning a lot here which is always a plus in my book.

Totally understand that being--or just feeling--censored is a
reason to leave. That's why I left TOS, along with the not-so-tacit support for abuse of flags and gang behavior.
Just want to point out, in case it's of interest to news hounds: It's easy to swing by that reddit subthread and see links to news stories, read, and leave without comment or up/downvote. I get all kinds of election-related news there more easily than I would if I tried to read all the pubs and blogs others cull and post from. And I've promoted c99p there. Cross-pollination at times can be mutually beneficial; it expands the genetic pool with new variants and possibilities.

I keep two subreddits bookmarked
For World news and for Politics
I particularly like those two because I get a much broader picture of what is going on. For example in the Politics section I found something which I have not seen at all in the mainstream media that could spell some problems for HRC:
From Hillary wins anti-gun endorsements, wears color of gun control, orange
I wouldn't have known to look for this one without the World link: US Launches Raids On IS From Aircraft Carrier
Agree: new ideas and viewpoints are essential.

Guns are the DNC wedge issue for 2016
A great way to divide urban and rural poor, while also hitting Bernie. As is typical though, anything approaching a principle on Clinton's part has been sold-off, and the way she and Bill collect loot from arms merchants to spread wars makes her impotent ans implausible claims of doing something about gun control seem like just more lies and pandering.
Bots don't connect dots or
Bots don't connect dots or understand facts and hypocrisy regarding anything $Hillary, gun control vs arms deals, included.
It boggles my mind. They would be the ones screaming, "Heretic!" at the news the earth was actually proven to be round.
I don't understand the intense anger
and territoriality that comes from some Bernie supporters in response to Stein's overtures.
If the past is prologue, which it may or may not be, the Dems will continue to screw us over and Bernie will arguably be screwed out of the nomination. Until the nomination is decided, it makes no sense to leave the party, I agree. But the Dem establishment seems to be in an Anybody But Bernie mood. They cannot abide populism and the New Deal regaining a hold on their party. They've already proven they're willing to go to great lengths to prevent that. Nevada proved that.
If they *do* screw us, and Bernie, over, then what territory are we protecting from Stein? We won't have territory at that point: we'll have a lot of energy and a motivated, large movement that can *take* territory. If the Bernie movement flooded into the Green Party, it would probably change the Green Party more than the movement, because the energy, and the numbers, would be with Berniecrats, not with the Greens who have been fairly stagnant for years. The only way the Green Party would change us more than we changed it would be if the Green party has a structure as corrupt and unrepresentative as the Democratic Party: an entrenched establishment that refuses to change or share power. If this were the case, the movement would not tolerate it, and would immediately leave and build its own structure.
But there's no harm in trying.

So glad those gizmos were rejected at this place. They're too-easy opportunities for anonymous bullying and silencing of dissent, or just an honest difference of opinion. Echo chambers pose dangers to the capacity for critical thought, even our own enlightened (of course!) version.
