'There is now more than a theoretical chance' of no Clinton Nomination (WSJ opinion piece)

I'm not seeing this in the feed here - have I missed it?

There is now more than a theoretical chance that Hillary Clinton may not be the Democratic nominee for president.

link

and then they say:

The inevitability behind Mrs. Clinton’s nomination will be in large measure eviscerated if she loses the June 7 California primary to Bernie Sanders. That could well happen.

A recent PPIC poll shows Mrs. Clinton with a 2% lead over Mr. Sanders, and a Fox News survey found the same result. Even a narrow win would give him 250 pledged delegates or more—a significant boost. California is clearly trending to Mr. Sanders, and the experience in recent open primaries has been that the Vermont senator tends to underperform in pre-election surveys and over-perform on primary and caucus days, thanks to the participation of new registrants and young voters.

Then they point out that folks are stepping up to participate because Bernie.
And that Bernie does better against Trump.
And the IG says Clinton broke rules.

Pretty sure I must be dreaming to read this in msm.

So, they also mention that there could be an attempt to swap in Biden... and then they say the same about Kerry - first I've seen of that speculation.

At any rate, happy reading and sharing!

  • Right click on article link. In Google Chrome, I open it by clicking 'open link in incognito window.' The article opens in a separate window.

The various mentions of Biden over the last few months do nothing but make me roll my eyes. He's just another status quo shill but with a kindler gentler face to put things on. We know how well 'kindler and gentler' went before.

No thanks where Biden is concerned.

this year's primary slog. My biggest fear is that something happens to Clinton after she's named her VP choice, and the DNC says that the VP should be the one to be the nominee in that case. So we could have someone completely untested. And if Trump has to step down because of either tax issues or the Trump U. lawsuit or whatever, the GOP could be in the same boat.

F'cked election ever. Already both candidates are under investigation for various types of fraud or possibly under the espionage act if they were following the actual laws of this country, or under the RICO acts because of the pay to play money laundering scheme of th CGI. Paying to get access to foreign officials to be able to get lucrative contracts. Foreign governments have given it plenty of money, and it f Bill is on her economic staff, what types of pressure could they bring on him? Even though he wasn't in government at the time he made the money, it still stinks.
And then there's Donald being investigated for defrauding people.
Nice election candidates this year.
The world's leaders are probably laughing at us.
Then there's the choice to elect a candidate that isn't under investigation and is speaking about the values and issues that the democrats used to stand for before the Clintons destroyed them with their DLC and now they only care about money and power just like the republicans do.

This article has the trailer and a description of what is in the book. The author describes what the Clintons did during her time as SOS , the collusion between Bill, the state department and their foundation is 100 more times worse than watergate.

In the most headline-making, eye-popping deal of all, the Clinton Foundation made millions while Russia gained control of over 20 percent of the U.S. uranium reserves spread across Wyoming, Texas, and Utah. This was made possible by Hillary Clinton’s State Department, which approved the deal despite its obvious potential to threaten American national security. It all adds up to an ugly conclusion: Mrs. Clinton sold out the U.S. to enrich her family to the tune of $153 million in speaking fees alone — and at least $2 billion in the coffers of their foundation.

The fact that these two horrible people are so close to returning to the WH is beyond belief.
I just finished reading an article about the Honduras coup that stated that Hillary went behind Obama's back during the coup and goes into detail about how many country's leaders are upset about the actions Hillary did there. Remember that Obama has said that his biggest regret is invading Libya.
And they have been involved in behind the scenes in Honduras since 2001 making deals that benefit both the Clintons and many of their friends. Especially Lanny Davis.
Let me know if you want the link to the article.

The book I have read is "The Clintons' War on Women" and they do cover some of this material. If even 10% is true, is very damning to them...lifelong patterns...too prevalent to be just a right wing conspiracy. I can not in good conscience assist in any way with those two getting back into a position of power.

I have ever used the word "charismatic" in the same sentence with Kerry (until now). However, becasue he has run before, i would not past the Dems to consider him as an option.

I will go way beyond pissed if it is anyone else besides Sanders. The Dems really have no clue he is going to save their asses. Sure, they may have to give up a few bucks from special interests, but I believe one of the changes he has in mind is to get rid of that begging for dollars thing they currently have to do.

I was thinking Kerry lost by a landslide, so his running before doesn't mean much; but I just looked it up and it was actually pretty close. But anyway yes, I think it will be serious in the streets protests unless the nom is Bern if it's not Hill.

("cutting off their noses to spite their faces" come to mind) it would have to be with someone who has nearly instant name recognition which narrows the field quite a bit. They would still have to appeal to Independents, so charismatic or not, they would need the right policy credentials, and there aren't any that also have the name recognition.

It has often been said that certain groups vote against their own self-interests. it looks like the Dem Party has backed themselves into a corner on this one.

Yes, those would be great choices IF only they would become "real" Democrats. They all seem to be part of the anti-MIC, anti-corruption, pro-labor group that the "real" Democrats are so very afraid of. I don't think any of them would choose to override the electorate's choice of Sanders.

If he thought the voting machines were rigged, he most definitely should NOT have been a "gentleman". We need to stop voter disenfranchisement however it occurs. He should have done more than complain, he should have sued and hired investigators to dig until the truth was uncovered. It's not "his" election, it's ours. I'd never vote for an HRC replacement no matter who. Well I'd be tempted if it were George Clooney, but no. After all the work of this campaign Bern has more than earned the nom. If Hill is the nom and gives me some nice progressive talk, I imagine I'll vote for her. But if they give it to anyone else other than Bern? They can talk and otherwise make nice until they're blue. They will have clearly disenfranchised us, and I will vote for a third party and hope to overcome any third-party disadvantages so progressives win. If it doesn't work, then let the Dems whine when Trump wins because of their crap.

But speculation: If Hill withdraws, who do you think they'll ask to step up in her place?

if Hillary is bumped it would turn the "political revolution" into something serious. And...we know those in power will stop at nothing to preserve their wealth, power, and status. It is beyond my imagination to envision the DNC trying something so stupid as displacing a Sanders candidacy in the event of Hillary being outed as the corrupt fool she is.

Is it possible that the DNC would outright deny the wishes of 48% of the Democrats, and over 50% of the independent voters to trash Bernie? The DNC would be supplying the gas, and the matches to burn the "Party" down. I believe that it may be necessary, but would prefer a revolution to occur in the voting booth, rather than in the streets.

Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton's campaign signalled on Wednesday plans for a big assault on Republican Donald Trump even as she battles to hold off rival Bernie Sanders in California.

Clinton, a former secretary of state, is to deliver what her campaign described as a major speech on Thursday in San Diego to underscore what she feels would be the threat posed by Trump to U.S. national security if he is elected president on Nov. 8.

Her language to describe Trump has grown more aggressive by the day. On Wednesday, she seized on testimony released in a lawsuit against Trump University in which some former workers said they believed Trump's for-profit school was fraudulent.

It's good to be remembered fondly from a place I used to spend a lot of time over the years. I don't go there often anymore. It's too depressing to see what they've become.

Of the remaining Bernie supporters vocal enough to still post there, the gang flagging is out of control. After 5 years, I lost my "trusted user" status from 2 time outs within a week. The first one I may have deserved when I suggested that in terms of money and corruption, the only difference between both parties was being fucked in the ass with a "2x4" vs. a baseball bat, and if Hillary is elected, I better stock up on the Vaseline. They basically lost their minds in response. Ok. But the 2nd time out was utter bullshit when I sarcastically addressed a brand new diarist in yet another one of their 'I used to be a Bernie supporter but now I'm for Hillary" diaries, and told the diarist that I passed along their story to Hillary's campaign and they really liked it! Markos actually responded to the comment himself and said that accusations of paid shills was against DK rules and I was put on another timeout.

I'm looking for a new home. I've signed up over at Kossacks for Sanders on Mahakali Overdrive's sub Reddit to get daily news but the format doesn't really allow long diaries. With all that is going on, it's good to see more than a few survivors over here.

P.S. I remember your posts and diaries very well. And fondly too!

Problem is that someone with the same SN who uses the exact same graphics has a few other inner tube accts... On one of them I read that they celebrated their birthday in 2014 and it seemed to indicate it was the 30th birthday (rofl)

Sent all that stuff to the DK help desk asking them to investigate if this was a Phoney member. Haven't heard a word back. Don't expect to.

I doubt the GOS cares about fake accts any more.... Given the c99 states and the latest GOS stats I doubt they want to lose a single person. Even an obvious fake person.

There is always Music amongst the trees in the Garden, but our hearts must be very quiet to hear it. ~ Minnie Aumonier

"Sure, she's corrupt, and controlling, and too incremental." But then she goes on to say that her Presidency will tell little girls that they too can become President, or some such. Har har!!

Yes, little girls, become controlling and corrupt to get ahead. That's inspirational, all right.

Was a female of a certain age, well provided for with little to do, and spending waaay too many hours in the warm glow of TOP surrounded by other well provided for "liberals". I'd sure like to see them working minimum wage trying to raise a family.

So, yeah. Go Team Hillary!

Peace out, tmp.

a certain amount of indifference.

When I heard that Hillary had pledged to make her cabinet 50% women, I thought, Why not 100%? I'm sure it's doable.

And across the aisle she's inspiring people to vote against her with vehemence.

Quite an inspiration.

"Inspiring a certain amount of indifference" and "inspiring people across the aisle to vote against her with vehemence". Wish I'd thought to respond to the commenter with these!

is to marry well, and then when your husband cheats on you publicly multiple times, look the other way, because he's still your ticket to success!

Although I try not to judge her marriage. Everyone is entitled to the arrangement that suits them best. It's OK, I think, to have a purely political/financial partnership, if that's what both want. Maybe it was an open marriage all along and she just didn't like that arrangement becoming public since it's not the norm.

You know, Bill has an easygoing façade. It causes me to wonder, in thinking it over, if Hill were not the driving force - perhaps he became President because of her? In which case, could she have arrived at about the same place with just about any man she married?

Thanks for pointing it out.

Hillary is becoming an embarrassment to honest citizens who want integrity in government.

When will "her" superdelegates see it? When will "her" superdelegates see that endorsing her becomes a blot on their own integrity to voters? When will she go from being an embarrassment to a taint?

of racketeering is my favorite. It actually appears the U.S. government could seek justice for something. The question is why, it's got to be political considering the crimes committed and being committed in D.C. Evidently Loretta Lynch is a Clinton crony so it sure doesn't seem like it would come from Obama and Lynch but anything is possible at this point. At any rate, it's out there now, Clinton is criminal and should be disqualified from the nomination. A tell will be if Trump and/or Sanders latches on to the racketeering angle, I haven't heard yet. If that's the case I can't see how she won't be toast very soon. But Trump himself is facing racketeering charges.
The Presidency should be handed to Sanders now and we can get on with things.

industrial complex. She has compromised at least two of their "counterterrorism operations" and apparently may have exposed the name of an operative, as well as letting the whole world see info about the movement of North Korean nukes. And she did it either because she's so fucking arrogant she thinks the rules don't apply to her, or b/c she wanted to hide her dirty arms deals and pay-to-play from the rest of the govt and was so stupid she thought an unprotected private server was the way to do that--would work for most of the government, but not for the NSA, CIA, or anybody in intel.

So we've got the military (non-industrial) part of the Deep State hopping mad, and the industrial and financial side of the Deep State wanting their favorite CEO to continue to manage these pesky Americans for them. A quarrel. I think the military wins this won, because the industrialists/financiers can find another front man pretty easily (Bankruptcy Biden is a good choice).

Obama is at work in this, but in a complex and clever way--I'll lay out what I think/imagine his role is in an essay I'm gonna write tomorrow (finally got past 3 days of writer's block!)

The only way I know how to find it is to click on his username and look at his diaries.
Hopefully some day there will be a way to search for diaries, but the site is still growing and it needs more money to keep up with the number of people who are joining.
