Economists have no idea how capitalism works

The experts have been asking these exact same questions for at least five years, maybe longer.
At a certain point any unbiased critique would have to conclude that the experts either don't care what the answer is (in which case they aren't experts at all), or they are completely incompetent (in which case they aren't experts at all).

Friday Night Photos - unauthorized version

Hi all,

I can't 'host', as I will be in an out, and have no freakin' clue about how this is supposed to work, but since I don't see a thread up, figured I put a place maybe where some could toss some pix. Since I like seeing everyone's photos so much... So just have at it and I apologize if I am stepping on a foot... Here's a couple to get it going...

The Logos of Odysseus - A Veteran's Anti-War Speech.

So, thanks to the work of Shahryar I have managed to get ahold of a digital copy of The Logos of Odysseus. I have deliberately avoided as many spoilers about this, and literary analyses, to better understand the piece without the gilding of ages. So, first of all, a HUGE thank you to Shahryar for the hard work, and link to a Thesis which contained Antisthenes work in toto. It's much appreciated and this essay is my way of doing a bit of homework on the piece.

Divide and conquer with aggregate statistics

The Atlantic has long been on my list of faux left publications. Nevertheless, because it was getting a lot of comment, I read the piece by Matthew Stewart, The 9.9 Percent Is the New American Aristocracy

I found it to be a blatant attempt to divide the leftwing, and to give more credibility to rightwing stereotypes about "liberals", by using aggregate statistics. That is, using averages and correlation to imply causation and intent.

Use “3 Birds, 1 Stone Strategy” if you want to live.

The Two Parties and the Media fail to serve our interests. Actually, work against them most of the time. If this doesn't change, and real soon, they're going to take us over a cliff. And real soon.

That these "3 Birds" are corrupt, self-serving, and divorced from reality is an assertion few "everyday people" would even try to refute. Not least because it can't be done.
