It's not a bold statement to say America is in decline, or that most Americans live in denial.
But it took reading this article for me to gain proper perspective.

Afghanistan's reputation of being the Graveyard of Empires is actually a new thing.
You could say it started with Mahmud Hotak in 1722, when his Afghan army marched into Persia and ended the Safavid Empire.
Next came the British.

The United States has by far the largest military in the world, but Vietnam proved that sometimes that's not enough. An empire needs other nations submit or at least cooperate.
That becomes difficult when you're extremely unpopular. That's where America is today.

Historians will one day note that September 24, 2018, was the Beginning of the End of the U.S. Dollar Hegemony.
