Many forces are arrayed to block any chance of peace around the world. Forces like the MIC, big oil, the banksters, war whore neocons and neolibs, the EU vassals, Zionists, the deep state graft machine, the five eyes, media propagandists, and more. No wonder there's forever war all over the globe.
So a 28 point Ukraine peace plan has been leaked...most of which seems unrealistic to me. Perhaps it will serve as a starting point for conversation and reconciliation. Just returning to normal relations...like we had during the entire "cold war", would be an improvement. Things like having functioning embassies, direct flights, trade...would be a step in the right direction. Meanwhile in SW Asia, we have the Gaza (and West Bank) genocide continuing under the cover of a supposed ceasefire. Many continue to think a new conflict with Iran is in the offing. The aggression against Venezuela seems to be in a holding pattern. Perhaps someone has explained to Trump what an utter shitshow an invasion would be...at least I hope so. Here at home the government reopened with a whimper. The unclassified Epstein files were voted to be released, to which Pam Bondi declared "new information" has caused her to reopen the case and classify most of the documents. Nothing to see here...move along! The big news here locally is MTG has resigned. Many speculate she's planning a presidential run?
To my mind, the primary story continues to be the fall of the US empire and the rise of the BRICS+ alliance. The repercussions of the empire's death throes appear to be war and more war amid economic collapse. Seems to me, the possible (likely?) illegal Venezuelan war is a distraction from the rapidly approaching loss in Ukraine, the on going Gaza genocide and Zionist aggression in Syria and Lebanon, the economic misery of so many US citizens, and the revelations in Epstein files. I find it amazing how the people are fooled time after time...WMDs in Iraq seems the same lie as drugs in Venezuela...we are lied into war time after time.
We spent last week as agritourists at Will Harris' White Oak Pastures in the small town of Bluffton, GA. I'll write an essay about the visit next month, but since I featured our local farm, Windy Hill, last week, we'll give farming a break and briefly look at at the current state of geopolitics below the fold.
Our local monthly paper has been featuring a series of articles on regenerative agriculture. I was asked to write one of the articles. It appears below the fold. It features one of the farms we frequent. As a bonus I've added an interview with Thomas Massey about his cattle operation and pending legislation. Trump isn't making peace, he's breaking it across the globe, and instilling ill will for the US around the world. He's on the brink of an illegal invasion of Venezuela, possibly Iran, and escalating the Ukraine proxy war with Russia. As a finale for the political circus ring master, there are tariffs and sanctions here, tariffs and sanctions there, tariffs and sanctions everywhere...all bound to boomerang right back to the US. Looks like the Don's goal is to hasten the end of the US/NATO empire...that certainly appears to be the inevitable outcome to me.
Palestinians continue to be targeted and shot. The Zionists have hired Islamic terrorist gangs to do their killing in Gaza. Hamas is shooting back and protecting the Gaza residents. Israel claims it is Hamas who is breaking the cease fire. They call for Hamas to disarm. When has Israel ever abided by a cease fire? There's still talk of attacking Iran soon. The situation in Ukraine is equally farcical. Russia continues advancing and destroying Ukrainian troops and equipment. I look for the possible meeting of Trump and Putin in Hungary to be as fruitful as their Alaska summit, which is to say, "empty". In the Caribbean, the US navy continue blowing up boats claiming they are shipping drugs without a particle of evidence nor legality. Then there's an announcement of a CIA operation to kill Maduro in Venezuela...I guess it is covert turns overt? So not much peace in the western sphere.
The decay of US empire is all around us...crumbling infrastructure, increasing poverty and homelessness, and an economic system in decline. We used the power of the dollar to sanction and bully other countries to the point they united and developed a new means of exchange (BRICS pay) bypassing the USD and SWIFT system. The FED has for decades cranked up the presses to over produce dollars, increasing the debt to the point the interest on the debt is about equal to our GDP. Much of the currency creation has been to finance the endless war - profiting the MIC, the bankers, the oil industry, and the elite. In fact, over spending on the Vietnam war caused Nixon to take the USD off a gold standard because we didn't have the gold to back all the dollars created. Since then it has gotten worse, and the wars more numerous in an effort to prop up the failing system.
Did you hear the speeches at the Generals and Admirals gathering. Trump suggested training the armed forces in US cities. We have met the enemy and he is us...WTF. War abroad and at home. So on the target list we have Venezuela, Iran, Russia, China, and democratic party led cities? Quite the list for a peace president. You can't make it up...
As the Turkish proverb goes: “When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn't become a king, the palace becomes a circus”.
...It is the start of the season, the fate of US empire, and the future of the U$D. Autumn is off to a lovely start here in NE Alabama. The wildflowers are outstanding this year. Peak leaf color is at least a month away, but you can already see the start of the change. The US empire belittles itself almost daily. Many are wondering why Hegseth has called all the generals and admirals (some 800) together next week. Is it a new war strategy against Iran, or Venezuela, or ...? Or is it to get them to swear a loyalty oath like Hitler? Perhaps we'll find out next week. As to the dollar, I do most our our grocerying and every week the cost is higher. The Italian wines I like have really jumped in price. I wonder if it is the tariffs. Well, all that and more below the fold.
