Trump taps ex-NSC official involved in NK diplomacy as under secretary of state
U.S. President Donald Trump has nominated a former White House official who was involved in diplomacy with North Korea during his first term, as under secretary of state for political affairs, according to Congress.
The finance minister and current acting president, Choi Sang-mok, testified at Assembly hearing Feb 6 on the note passed to him December 3, while he was speaking to Yoon directly. Yoon said "refer to it." Choi claims he doesn't know who gave it to him, he didn't read it, that it was already folded, and put it in his pocket.
He couldn't be more out of touch.

Remember how Trump was supposed to be The Most Dangerous President Evah? And how Trump was going to start wars all over the globe?
Well, this happened today.
If there is one thing that scares Washington more than anything else is an uncontrolled outbreak of peace.
In May, Trump cancelled summit talks with North Korea.
In August, Trump cancelled high-level peace talks with North Korea.
By fighting against peace on the Korean peninsula, Trump is carrying out a 70-year long American tradition.
North Korea is playing the Long Game and has scored a significant victory against the US. Trump is ill suited to be running US foreign policy at this time. Any competent leader would understand the situation and negotiate a face-saving long term treaty for peace on the Korean peninsula. Instead, Trump is blustering and threatening and in the long run will have to declare bankruptcy, screw his creditors and claim victory... as usual.
