It's become quite obvious to me that the tech world will always be denied to me in terms of career or livelihood, and all because of things I deal with on a daily basis that are well beyond my ability to control. I started seeing this years ago, yet I chose to live in denial all that time. And I went through quite a bit only to find out the barrier to entry is impossible to break.

How the Professional Class Kills Desire for Decent Employment

I recently started re-reading an old 18th century Chinese satirical novel called 'The Scholars', and I can't help but draw parallels not only between the blatantly corrupt literati of the Qing (or Ch'ing, depending on who you ask) Dynasty and the American Professional Class today, but the insane standards of both that made people waste their entire lives just to live up to them only to die trying or come up short.

Raise in minimum wage, a poison pill?

Just saw a youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2ucpEeBfQg which offered 3 points. first, when the minimum wage was raised business for fast food joints skyrocketed. This was seen as an unabashed Good Thing. Working people had more money to spend and they spent it. But apparently they were spending it on fast food. Why? Were they buying a Big Mac on their way to their second job?
