Commenters Say the Darnedest Things. About Russia.

I've probably mentioned an untold number of times that I spend a lot of time reading comments that are attached to anything I read or research on the Internet. Somehow this really works for me. I come away with a context that becomes another pointer to the knowledge I store, but that's the least of it. So often, I find the most extraordinary information placed there by passers through — things that influence me more that the article they are attached to. True also, the comments can reveal interesting new trends and topics, and every once in awhile a fascinating participant will stand out who I'll remember to look for next time I return.

A conversation from the Youtube Comments

So, been a while since I've posted an essay on anything really, and let me warn you right now that this isn't going to be one covering any major issues. No, this essay is simply about a conversation I recently had on a Secular Talk video with someone I assume was intending on passing themselves off as an anti-establishment progressive, but just couldn't help but deviate from the script.

poligirl's Tour de Force at DK

I have just spent hours, yes hours, going through the comment thread at DK to poligirl's terrific Spiking the Football diary. Even now at this hour (1:34 A.M. PT) comments are still being added. I had to come up for air. Good points were made on both sides but it seemed to me that the Hillaryites, paid and unpaid Trolls, and DINOs more often used ridiculous arguments to bolster Her Majesty's case than did some of Bernie's supporters there.
