Sarah Palin's hubby in intensive care
Submitted by PastorAgnostic on Mon, 03/14/2016 - 3:16pm
According to multiple reports, Todd was involved in a snow machine accident and is in serious condition.
As a result, Sarah cancelled her Meat the Meet with Der Fuehrer in Florida.
I have thrown a lot of trash aimed at the 1/2 governor, and find her positions, self-promotion, and greed disgusting.
However, when we see life and death issues arising, how we behave is what sets us apart from the Reich side, especially with Trumpenstein. Therefore, I send my sincere condolences to the Palin Family and wish him a speedy return to good health. Please join me in these wishes. It is the human thing to do. It is the right thing to do. And it clearly shows the difference between us and the GOP, to boot.

As a former Alaskan, I will join
you in sending my best wishes to Todd Palin and his family.
They are blessed with living in one of the most beautiful places on earth, which is one reason a lot of folks there, enjoy snowmobiling. We lived in Interior Alaska, considerably north of the Palins, so we never really got into the sport/pasttime.
BTW, 'welcome,' PastorAgnostic!

I spent two years there with a major corporation
My kids had the time of their lives and I got to travel from Anchorage to Fairbanks, Kenai, and Kodiak. It was a great time! One we will always remember.
"Snow machine" or "Snowmobile"?
Various sources are using different terminology, so it's a bit difficult to sort out. Probably a snowmobile, but a rogue snowblower isn't ruled out by the vague wording.
There is no justice. There can be no peace.
In Maine they call them snow machines if you ride them
otherwise blowers. Either way best wishes to the Palins that Todd recovers

Here in Canada it's called a sled. Unless it's wrapped around a
tree, as my brother-in-law did to his best friend's snowmobile last week, in which case it's a f*cking sled.

almost everywhere, they are called snowmobiles.
Alaskans (and apparently according to a Mainer above, Mainers) call them snow machines. I get the feeling that, at least in the Alaskan case, it's some sort of spiteful machismo thing.
If you aren't Alaskan or a Mainer, then you should call it a snowmobile, because the only thing that could be worse than a pretentious Alaskan snowmobiler would be a poseur using Alaskan lingo so as to appear too cool for sled school, and if you call it a sled 99% of your readers will be thinking Rosebud, not Polaris.
(PS: When I was a kid, they were usually called ski-doos, but Bombardier seems to have successfully reclaimed that trademark from the commons.)

Guess I didn't get that memo, Untimely! ;-) Seriously,
we called them snowmobiles.
Of course, no one in my inner circle actually owned one. We lived in the Interior, and in 'the city.' Of course, we also didn't hunt or fish. The only 'shots' we took were with a camera; we loved camping and hiking. (But in places like Chena Hot Springs resort, etc.)
IOW, we were probably 'outliers.'
I had only seen about 5 or 6 inches of snow in my entire life, prior to moving there.

Those "snow machines" are dangerous critters
Some asshole is now in Big Big Trouble after driving one "blackout drunk" at the Iditarod and wiping out one dog team and harming another: https://www.adn.com/article/20160312/snowmachiner-says-he-killed-iditaro...

I always felt sorry
for Todd Palin. I honestly felt that he was very uncomfortable in the political arena and would be happy just to live his life in Alaska doing outdoor things. It is sad to hear this and I hope he will be okay.

I can think of at least one much, much bigger reason
than that to feel sorry for Todd Palin.

I am honestly sorry
To hear this. As someone who spent most of 2008 gleefully dragging Sarah's skeletons out of the closet on a blog based out of Alaska. Todd appeared to be a pretty stable normal guy other than his choice of a wife....
I have come to believe that John McCain took a dive in 2008 and used unsuitable Sarah to do it. Had he won this country would have hung the great recession around the collective republican neck. It would have been Hoover all over again.
I'm sorry.
That's bad news. I hope the guy is all right.
