This is a video by Canadian band, The Tragically Hip, entitled New Orleans is Sinking. The song and video were done in 1989. It was announced today that the band's frontman, Gord Downie, was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. He is only 52 years old.

You may say "Sirius...what does this sad story have to do with the election and Bernie in particular?"

Everything. Or maybe nothing at all.

This little known band here in the USA got little to no airplay but the video tells of the despair of our nation's veterans. Think about that for a moment. How can the world see but many in this country can only pay lip service and vomit platitudes? Bernie has worked tirelessly and unselfishly for our veterans as a former Chair and current member of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee. What has SOS Clinton done lately for our vets except send them off to ensure profits flow for the MIC? What can we do to make the contrast with Clinton and remind the voters that tRump has co-opted the veterans and scammed off of their good names? I'm not a veteran myself but many in my family are and I'm damn tired of them being used as political fodder. The news today of Gord reminded me of this song and with the holiday upcoming, I just cant stand this bull any more.
