Why I hate Trevor Noah

On 16 August 2012, police in South Africa massacred 34 striking miners without warning. This is what it looked like.

So what do you think Trevor Noah, a native of South Africa, might think of that?
See for yourself.

I'm not sure which part angers me more.
The fact that he thought the massacre of 34 people is good for laughs.
Or that he decided to carry the water for a murderous police force.

Remember that this was the same guy that liberals loved when he wrote this op-ed in the NY Times.

The experience of stepping into Jon’s shoes brought on enormous culture shock for me. In South Africa, where I come from, we also use comedy to critique and analyze, and while we don’t let our politicians off the hook, we don’t eviscerate one another. If anything, my stand-up shows back home are a place where we can push away the history of apartheid’s color classifications — where black, white, colored and Indian people use laughter to deal with shared trauma and pain. In South Africa, comedy brings us together. In America, it pulls us apart.

I guess that depends on who "us" is, Trevor.

I really do hate the wealthy elites that are today's late night comedians.

Hate? That's a little harsh. How about disappointed, discouraged, dismayed, dissolutioned? Can't cross those boundaries.

Thank g-d you didn't put this on the Twitter. Only Mob rage could follow.

Glad you're here among friends.

Do you think it's unusual for someone who thinks shooting down strikers is funny is a disgusting person?

FYI:
The nearly 100 wounded SA strikers were then arrested and charged with murder (of their fellow strikers) under an apartheid-era law.

I used to watch him too during the Bush administration as faithfully as I did Rachel and Keith and stopped after being disgusted by their support of Obama who was doing the same things that they criticized Bush for.

By the way Bill. Hillary had to cheat to win and it's possible if she didn't ask the media to ignore the other republican candidates and only cover Trump, he might not have won the primary. Just saying ....

I'm sure that would leave an impression on Bill. The guy made a great point at the end. Bill gets to go home behind his security gates and doesn't have to deal with the mess that both parties have created. The closest rich people came to experiencing what many others are is when their homes were threatened by the mud slides. Oprah, Ellen and others whose homes were ruined by the mud. But then they just went and lived in one of their other homes.

Haven't now seen much, but one segment he addressed the charges of cheating against Bernie in the primaries and dismissed it as it effected both candidates, which was utter bullshit. Over-all he seemed anti-Benrie. And his recent interview with AOC he was pretty attached with repeating the word "socialist" as a smear--a number of youtube/bloggers made a point about that interview.

From what I can gather the French ambassador wrote a letter to Noad about some segment where he said Africa won the World Cup. The ambassdor said the players were French. The segment was like saying Africa won the NBA championshp. By itself just stupid except it played into the racial card and politics American and UK commentators were trying to use against the Russians during the World Cup.

Just like outlets such as MSNBC, CNN, TOP, and TYT are pushing Russiagate hysteria to make a buck, so are the comedians in mainstream late night and other comedy shows. They are Rome's comedians to the Empire.

First as NHK said... Trevor's jokes or people laughing at them... which is worse? Then the same for the Maher bit and the audience's laughing. He was stupid, not funny. Guess Trevor wasn't on the poor working people's side. Clearly Maher thinks he can tell us how to think. R.I.P. comedy, poisoned by neolibs, 2016. I hope someone finds a cure. All the late night people sound like Neera Tanden and Robby Mook wrote their jokes, maybe some help from Podestas or the Clintons themselves. It is all out war within a razor thin narrow 1 degree field of topic matter, whilst everything else is ignored. Maher complaining about Goldman Sachs in Trumps Cabinet whilst praising Hillary (and therefore Obama) that are both wholly owned by them... gadzooks. He thinks we are stupid, which makes him so, since we're not.

Trevor, Bill Maher, Sam Bee, S. Colbert, all establishment mouthpiece sellouts for the money. Which predicates one becoming unfunny.

Remember the laugh tracks in the shows from the 70's? Do people have to buy tickets to his show? He should have to pay people to go to them.

How many more people like Bill and Rachel and the ones you mentioned are just parrots for the PTB? I used to think that they sold themselves out, but what if they've always been like this? This makes more sense.

Amy Goodman is the one that surprised me the most. I don't believe that she has always been a sellout. Is Juan still on her show?

that share their worldview. Because, if Bill really wants it, I'll happily provide a piece, in his style, which he might understand...

Bill, shut the fuck up. Your writers have people to make their lunches for them. Not only have their lunches made for them, but to their specifications. On Demand. Every Single Working Day. They can pay for that. You can pay for that. I can't, and I don't find your joke about how slow the guy is funny!
With that in mind, how dare you try to understand physical labor, when apparently all you can muster is half hearted toss every night where you try to show us all how manly and edgy you are. Hell, at least masturbation provides a moment of relief, when all you do is grunt like a man who enjoys cheese and not hydrating.
So, Bill, take your opinion, your firm, hard opinion, and try munching on a little of it yourself. I guarantee that it will not taste as good as it did when you were digesting it.

All that's left is nihilistic crap, and they keep taking the shows I enjoy out of circulation.

Right now, Hulu and BritBox are all I use, and mostly for Cartoons and Doctor Who.

When I watched this video, I was horrified.

Did anyone else notice the dissonance between the striking workers sitting peacefully on the hill, clanging their metal instruments to make noise and voicing their demands, and the "OFFICIALS" claiming they needed to end "the violence?"

I'm sorry: WHAT FUCKING VIOLENCE?

And many of the interviewed "officials" aren't white.

If this doesn't illustrate the issue of oligarchy and social control, I don't know what does.

nor any other comedian. They are not relevant for real life, just relevant for bamboozling purposes. The only sad thing is that they don't seem to know about their own irrelevance. As most bloggers forget about their own irrelevance from time to time.

Me thinks you failed with this attempt to excuse your hate.

I try to love those who try to do something relevant and useful. The comedians have their place in that. As do the authors of blogs and newspapers.

So, love each other. Sometimes it's useful. And if you can, don't destroy your babies and the young and yourself along the way. That's a kinda reasonable suggestion, isn't it?

I started to never watch comedian shows after I saw the performance of Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart at the Washington Mall during the 'Rally to Restore Sanity' in real life, live. Clearly they have not been successful in restoring sanity. Too sad. So, I don't watch anymore. Bill Maher always triggered me to shut off the TV. Always. He makes money being an .... He is successful in that. I throw my bubbling up revenge hate in the garbage, where I believe it belongs.

Peace.

PS I sometimes watch Lee Camp. He is cute. Hah, did I gottcha or did you got me?

(added words for clarity)
article of Khaled A Beydoun and the video by Trevor Noah. I think Noah made very valuable points in it and very clear.

Standing with Trevor Noah: a World Cup for France is a win for Africa too - Khaled A Beydoun

I hate to explain it, but rest assured having been married to a french speaking African living in Germany and the US, I know one thing:

If you are a black African (from the french speaking African regions) and married to a French woman, the African becomes a Frenchman. And if the African help the French getting some glory in sports or something else, he becomes a Frenchman.

If you are a black french or English speaking African (from french and english speaking African regions) and are married to German woman or win some glory in a German sports team for the Germans, you stay African and never are considered a German. (You have examples of that today).

In the US you become something hyphenated, whatever that might be. Noah Trevor just made that clear and it is true. I can speak about it, because of my decade long observations and experiences. So, I stick by my question in my comment here:

I think we have three sorts of brothers or sisters:
1. ideological brothers in arms (or sisters)
2. ethnic brothers and sisters, who we feel we belong to
3. your own family brothers and sisters.

I happen to believe that betrayal of all those sorts of brothers and sisters cause pain and hurt, on a personal, political or community level. Therefore I quit thinking about if one brother or sister is worse than the other one. It never helped me to do so.

One formerly colonial nation caters to the ideological status of his fellow African, one other former colonial nation caters to the ethnic/racial status of his fellow African, and the next one in line of emperial nation caters to nothing much at all as long a the money is right and they can keep their weapons.

Noah is my brother and child. No reason to hate him. He has not done anything, certainly not ridiculed the killed Africans in the miners strike by his comedy.

And for those who can't get over the "official voice" in the video from the miners strikes.
My African french speaking niece would have said: "Wake up and smell the coffee". I just wonder who is naive. Not the Africans, I would say.

Shute, this conversation and article has spoiled my Sunday Morning coffee.

and a South African black woman. Even as a small child or young teenager he certainly was aware of the "apartheid laws". Apartheid laws ended in the early 1990ies. Noah was six years old. Read his bio. His comedian career developed out of "coping" mechanisms. So who are you, to say "fuck you, Trevor Noah".

If he had been born to Swiss white mother and a South African black father, would it make a difference to you? Are you aware that it makes a difference? Context is everything. And contexts are complex. Not everyone takes the effort to try to understand the contexts. Noah did.

Bunch of baloney. Sigh. Why do I even get into this? I am an idiot. Sigh.

and it doesn't to a bullet, then where is your "context" for all those dead black miners?
Or are you really saying that Noah's skin color matters so much that we should overlook with his laughing at the murder of 34 other black men?
Why exactly is Noah's skin color more important than the lives of dozens of black men?
