This Was My Initial Reaction to the Purge

Posted to the op last week:

Markos, I read your edict, and if you would agree that you had thrown down the gauntlet and issued an edict to the members of your forum, then edict it shall be. I’m never gonna hear “Oh, no, that was just a suggestion.” from you. That was no suggestion.

If you agree that it was an edict, then, you are asserting unilateral privileges that accord from your position as Creator. I winced at the guy who referred to you as “boss”, because I didn’t think that was your preference. But now I see you betraying your own past, your book, which convinced me of the direction I was to take. Bernie Sanders embodies that Spirit like no other. He knows that a win for Bernie Sanders is only half the battle, we must awaken to our spirit to keep alive the flame of the blessings of liberty.

Here’s what I’m saying: let’s pretend the owner of this site sided with the members. Wow, the Love, huh? It would be amazing. Like if some other owner, not you, were all “Wow, so you guys want Bernie huh? And 2/3s of us are like “Hell, yeah!” and you’re all like “OK, let’s check that shit out brah!” and we’re like “faaa..” and different things happened…

Healthcare was provided through the government in the European model, or Medicare for All.

College is free for our children, based on merit, academic merit. It’s like soccer or a soapbox derby except that it involves STEM and our competitiveness in the technological world.

Jobs return to America and young men have an alternative to joining the army.

The Army doesn’t need people because we have less war every day.

You choose this, or you choose the opposite. For all of us. Your condescending tone was not lost on me, nor was your exasperation at having to house a lunatic asylum at times. Mostly, in a Democracy, you have to allow the cacophony of voices to arrive at the truth. Like the time that the trusty FishOutof Water debunked that scary “earthquakes are coming because Los Angeles is polluted”.

I would advise you, my friend, to stop with the edicts, and get on board with your own website.

I’m your friend, are you mine? Listen to me then.

I've been there since 2004, that's a decade ... hard to see the bull shit that's going down, guess I'm not surprised, just disappointed. Don't think I ever put Trust in Markos Moulitsas, don't think I ever really trusted him to hew to the ideals, values, and tenets of progressiveness and democracy. It seemed ultimately like an entrepreneurial pursuit in the end. Pity.

It could have been so much more.

Bernie is a win-win.

I went over there today, briefly. I saw a block quote of the PCI APO's post saying that he had taken money from both campaigns but that Bernie had paid way more. Paraphrasing a bit there. I thought that was interesting. Bernie paid more for the email list I'd guess.
If that had been a gwbc it would be right up there with the very best for sure.

PCI APO (probable cia psyops operative) It's my personal favorite acronym for you know who Smile

to sprinkle rainbow sparkles on the current rec list. All traitors to the edict. I would expect more survivors swimming ashore here. Gentle nudges or suggestions have been made by others. 11 years for me. My first divorce. Widowed IRL.

Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.

I like it. Of course he has no power beyond his website, which is only one website. I was a registered DKos user since 2006 but in truth I didn't invest much time and effort because my blogging is mostly on a local Utah site.

"We've done the impossible, and that makes us mighty."

have declined 90% since I came here. And most visits are just that, a drop-in to scan what's on the page. Most times, I click nothing. When I do, I'm usually disappointed or downright disgusted with the content of the comments.

For those of you who are still posting over there, please consider cross-posting here. It's high unlikely I'd read your piece on the other site, simply because I refuse to provide any useful metrics to the owner.

Kos over-reached horribly, and the condescension (as Bluesee so aptly put it) was unforgettable. Not that I'm the kind to forgive and forget, anyway. That's for people with short attention spans. Smile

And after 3/15, no log ins.
I did look a few times at the news round up, but the selections are now so pro Hillary, they didn't even mention Bernie's sweep on Saturday. The wreck page? No thanks. The comments? So rancid, it makes my friend's bachelor fridge look both spic and span in comparison.
