U.S. is about to become full participants in Yemen's genocide

Two months ago Bernie Sanders failed in his attempt to end our participation in the Saudi's genocidal war against the people of Yemen.
Since then the U.S. has gotten more and more committed to the Saudi war effort, and their war crimes.

Hundreds of men swept up in the hunt for al-Qaida militants have disappeared into a secret network of prisons in southern Yemen where abuse is routine and torture extreme — including the “grill,” in which the victim is tied to a spit like a roast and spun in a circle of fire, an Associated Press investigation has found.

Senior American defense officials acknowledged Wednesday that U.S. forces have been involved in interrogations of detainees in Yemen but denied any participation in or knowledge of human rights abuses. Interrogating detainees who have been abused could violate international law, which prohibits complicity in torture.

So we are torturing again (still?).
That is bad enough. This would never be allowed by a 3rd world nation, or any rival nation.
Yet the WashPost has spun this in the most Orwellian way.

This was in addition to an op-ed that summer by editorial page editor Jackson Diehl (6/26/17), which not only ignored the US’s support of Saudi bombing but actually spun the US as the savior of Yemenis, holding up Saudi Arabia’s biggest backer in the Senate, Lindsey Graham, as a champion of human rights.

In recent months, however, the Post has charted a new course: vaguely acknowledging Washington’s role in the bloody siege, but insisting that the US should remain involved in the bombing of Yemen for the sake of humanitarianism.
...
When one reads closer, it’s clear that while the Post wanted Trump to moderately roll back the most egregious war crimes, it still lobbied against the Lee/Sanders bill that would have actually ended the war.

The Trump Administration seemed to take the failure of the Sanders bill as a free pass to escalate our involvement in Yemen.

The Trump administration is weighing an appeal from the United Arab Emirates for direct U.S. support to seize Yemen’s main port for humanitarian aid from Iranian-backed Houthi fighters, according to U.S. officials, a move they worry could have catastrophic effects on the country.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has asked for a quick assessment of the UAE’s plea for assistance such as surveillance drone flights to help a Saudi-led coalition retake Hodeidah, which currently serves as a vital lifeline for the country’s 29 million residents, U.S. officials said.

What will it take to make the U.S. stop being the Saudi's bitch?

I don't understand this

Saudi King Salman has threatened to take military action against neighboring Qatar if the nation follows through with a plan to install an anti-aircraft defense system. Salman said he would take military action to “eliminate this defense system.”
Saudi Arabia and many of its allies severed ties with Qatar last year, based around a false media report claiming the Qatari Emir wasn’t sufficiently hostile toward Iran. The Saudis have since suggested they’d channel out the entire Qatari border, turning it into an island, and dumping nuclear waste in the area.

Around this ever growing Saudi hostility toward Qatar, the nation made a deal to buy S-400 air defense systems from Russia. Russia says that plans to deliver he missiles have not changed, despite the Saudi threats.

A truth of the nuclear age/climate change: we can no longer have endless war and survive on this planet. Oh sh*t.

We wanted decent healthcare, a living wage and free college.
The Democrats gave us Biden and war instead.

is bombing a people considered humanitarian aid? Don't these reporters have any sense of decency? Being paid to lie is one thing, but living with your own demented history takes some extreme un-self consciousness.

@QMS

Isn't that the reason we're usually told whenever the government decides to invade or bomb some country?

"Gaddafi's troops were raping women and he gave them viagra in case they needed it". Libya is now a hell hole of a country where people are being sold as slaves.

"Assad used sarin gas on his citizens, we have a right to protect them." Many Syrian cities have been completely destroyed. Kerry told congress that the Saudis told him that if we overthrew Assad for them then they would pay for it.

I don't remember if Obama told us why he had to start helping the Saudis commit genocide in Yemen or if he just decided to do it on his own. Or maybe the Saudis offered him money to help them.

I've said this many times before, but what happened to "Never Again"? Are Jewish lives more important than Yemen lives? Or Korean, Vietnamese, Afghani, Libyan, Iraqi, Syrian or the lives of the people in other countries that we don't even know our drones are operating in? Because "Again" keeps happening!

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

Voting is like driving with a toy steering wheel.

it's already illegal, they're doing it anyway in the face of the American people and Congress to show us there is nothing we have thought of to stop them. Congress is nothing. It is inert. We, including myself, are paying our taxes and signing off on the 21 trillion dollar debt which makes this genocide and all our crimes against humanity, and our regime changes yielding failed states, all possible and profitable. If we don't decide how to stop them, we will be held accountable along with them.
