Trump will not turn over power to Biden?

All righty then let's put this to rest:

People are freaking out that Trump will not accept a peaceful transition of power because he doesn't believe mail in votes are valid. He has plans to take it to the New and Improved Supreme Court that he has swung in his favor and the country will erupt in Civil War.

BullPukey! I have been saying all along that the person who wins the election will be sworn in the minute the clock says he is supposed to and Trump's powers are gone. He will no longer be president. Oh he might still be trying to do things through the courts, but maybe that is his right. Don't know, don't care. Biden wins then he will be president. Period.

Top Republicans Promise ‘Peaceful Transfer Of Power’ After Trump Wouldn’t

McConnell states it best:

Top Republicans on Thursday vowed to ensure a peaceful transfer of power should President Donald Trump lose the November election, a day after Trump refused to commit to doing so.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who almost never publicly pushes back against Trump, said whoever wins the election will be inaugurated on Jan. 20.

Other republicans chime in and say the same thing. When you have a Cheney turning away from a power grab then I think that dawg can be said not to hunt:

Earlier Thursday, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wy.), the third-ranking Republican in the House, promised that “America’s leaders” would carry out their duties to the Constitution by guaranteeing a peaceful transition.

This tweet was in response to McConnell's tweet:

Well, that might not necessarily be true. Biden could win the election only to have Harris be the one inaugurated.*

*Yes, I'm aware she'd be part of the winning ticket, but that would still be a bait-and-switch by the DNC.

Democrats have been making noise about this and I have said that I am keeping an eye open on this story:

Democrats are laying the groundwork for revolution right in front of our eyes...

All this enthused Joe Biden, who threw subtlety to the winds.

The former United States Senator (for 26 years) and Vice President (for eight) has not once, not twice, but thrice confidently asserted that the military will “escort [Trump] from the White House with great dispatch” should the president refuse to leave. Another former Vice President, Al Gore, publicly agreed.

One might dismiss such comments as the ravings of a dementia patient and a has-been who never got over his own electoral loss. But before you do, consider also this. Over the summer a story was deliberately leaked to the press of a meeting at which 100 Democratic grandees, anti-Trump former Republicans, and other ruling class apparatchiks got together (on George Soros’s dime) to “game out” various outcomes of the 2020 election. One such outcome was a clear Trump win. In that eventuality, former Bill Clinton White House Chief of Staff John Podesta, playing Biden, refused to concede, pressured states that Trump won to send Democrats to the formal Electoral College vote, and trusted that the military would take care of the rest.

The leaked report from the exercise darkly concluded that “technocratic solutions, courts, and reliance on elites observing norms are not the answer here,” promising that what would follow the November election would be “a street fight, not a legal battle.”

Hillary opened her trap and told Biden not to concede the election. So who has been fear mongering more?*** Trump or the democrats or are they just playing one more game to stoke fears of the electorate? I say yes that is exactly what they are doing. I recall one member here posting this nonsense well over a year ago that Trump will not go quietly into the night if he loses and I hit back against it from day one. Now we have the republican's words that if Trump loses they will not back whatever play he has in mind.

*** link to today's DK fear mongering diary. It follows how Rachel Moscow does her shows on Russia Russia ..... there is no other side to the story even though the opposite views are all over the net. Fear mongering.

Aprop of nothing except to see how far Biden has declined since he debated Paul Ryan. It should que to the spot the debate starts.

Yeah there's that. But on Krystal's point of Biden doing well in his debate with Bernie, I think Bernie threw it. He did not go after Biden the same way he went after Hillary. And I still think that it was filmed earlier and his bad spots were edited out and Bernie had agreed to it. Yep. I will go to my grave thinking that.

There are just a few crucial states: Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin. Who are the secretaries of state in these states? Are they corporate Democrats, honest Democrats, never Trumpers or honest Republicans? (honest meaning willing to accept the actual vote if it goes against them)
The scenario that everyone is talking about is that Trump "wins" on Nov 3, but loses after the mail in/absentee ballots are counted. (reality: historically absentee ballots are not usually counted, even when they change the election day result, in fact especially to prevent them from changing the result) The "conspiracy" is that Trump is planning on this happening, while the Democrats are hoping that this happens. The assumption is that Trump is betting on the Supreme Court voiding the election if his scenario happens (he will be in for a rude awakening) while Biden (the democrat's owners) assume that the army will enforce the "result" if the result goes against them (they will be in for a very rude awakening) All this is binary thinking and therefore unlikely. If the tea leaves are right McConnell is speaking for the SC and saying that they will not void the election for Trump on conspiracy grounds. As for the army enforcing the ambition of Joe Biden and the MIC... what do they think this is, Seven Days In May? You think you can rewrite the ending?
More realistically if Biden wins McConnell will be just fine ruling in opposition. He had a much better time blocking Obama, and Biden is a drooling idiot and Harris is Obama with even less integrity. Meanwhile the Democrats would prefer to rake in the dough from fearmongering and not risk exposure as the fascists they are.
For everyone except Trump and Biden the status quo - as dystopian as it is - is just fine with them. Both sides would prefer to lose.

Warning US Democracy Under Threat 'Like Never Before,' Sanders Outlines Plan to Stop Trump's Authoritarian Takeover

Sen. Bernie Sanders on Thursday delivered a speech warning that President Donald Trump—with his preemptive assault on the legitimacy of the upcoming election and refusal to commit to a peaceful transition of power—poses an existential threat to U.S. democracy and must be soundly defeated in November to stop the nation's descent into authoritarianism.

"This is not just an election between Donald Trump and Joe Biden," the Vermont senator said in a speech from the nation's capital. "This is an election between Donald Trump and democracy—and democracy must win."

Noting that the nation is currently facing "an unprecedented set of crises"—from the ongoing pandemic and mass unemployment to widespread lack of healthcare and soaring inequality—Sanders said he never in his "wildest dreams" thought he would be forced to address the public on "the need to make certain that the president of the United States, if he loses this election, will abide by the will of the voters and leave office peacefully."

Well duh....

If there were democracy in this country, the DNC and the Dem Party elite wouldn’t have been able to rig the nominations in 2016 and 2020 against Medicare for All and Bernie Sanders. Bernie would have been the transformational president that we, and the world, so desperately need.

"Let us be very clear," said Sanders. "There is nothing in our constitution or in our laws that give Donald Trump the privilege of deciding whether or not he will step aside if he loses. In the United States, the president does not determine who can or cannot vote and what ballots will be counted."

So why go there?

yanking chains. Dem pols because it brings in the bucks and they hope and pray it will also bring in the votes. Trump does it because it's what he's been doing for years.

If Trump loses, his last act will be to issue pardons. Lots and lots of full and complete pardons, including for himself. Might as well formalize the tradition of US Presidents and Congress not to go after past Presidents. Seems to be a peculiarity of English speaking governments.

This has been reported in the New York Times, Boston Globe, and many other sources. The Democrats have made sure that their war games scenarios were well publicized to be used as another scare tactic for the electorate. This is unconscionable.

The Democrats have done far more harm to the democratic institutions in this country than an army of Russians could ever do. After cheating Bernie twice and spending four years and continuing with the Russiagate hoax, the Democrats have cooked up another fantasy to excuse their complete lack of policy, in case the "Orange Man Bad" campaign fails them again. By doing so, the Democrats are already deligitimizing the election, regardless of the outcome.
