Thinking In Music
When I went to write this, I noticed I had an essay that I wrote in July but never published. Re-reading it, I think it is half-decent so I will update and publish it tomorrow or Saturday.
Now, on to today's ramble.
Songs come into my head as I experience life. When I am having conversations, lyrics will often come to mind. Sometimes these lyrics are voiced but most are just sung inwardly.
This one came to me last night while I was watching my alternative journalists subscriptions on YouTube.
Information Overload - Living Colour
WARNING: There are a few graphic/disturbing images.
Also there is a 1 minute 10 second black screen (just music) starting at 3:34.
Some of the lyrics.
They say the future, it's on a microchip.
Don't you know, we're all on a sinking ship.
Only 10% control all the rest.
Only 10% decide what is best.
At that time, it was 10% but we now realize it is just 1%.
When this was released on Living Colour's "Times Up" album it was 1990 and we were experiencing the 'joy' of the first term of the Billary presidency.
Unfortunately, barring a major October surprise that blows enough minds to make her election (read 'coronation') impossible, we will be experiencing Billary 3.0; in effect a third term to my mind.
While many are waking up, how long will it take for the American public to reach the tipping point?
I have a coworker who told me the other day, that she has a friend from Haiti who told her the truth about the Clinton Global Initiative and Haiti. Despite this, she feels that Trump would be worse. Typical.
The next day an argument broke out with this coworker having fits about Trumps taxes even though the other coworker pointed out that it was legal and Hillary is just as bad. The Hillary supporter cried out repeatedly "I hope she wins!"
This is the same person who just the day before was upset about how poorly Haiti was treated by the Clinton gang.
I finally had to tell them both that they can't talk about this here at work and to wait until they were off the clock (we are under the Hatch act as USPS employees).
Thinking about this event makes me wonder if it is even possible to reach a tipping point. If somehow we do reach it, will it be too late by then?
Probably.

Comments
Music keeps me sane.
Well, maybe.
(very loosely paraphrased from "Frizzle Fry" - Primus)
Yaldabaoth, Saklas I'm calling you. Samael. You're not alone. I said, you're not alone, in your darkness. You're not alone, baby. You're not alone. "Original Sinsuality" Tori Amos
Wow
My first time with an extra mystery comment. Is there an automatic first comment for the writer of an essay?
