Been 22 F for over 24 hours. Ground is frozen. Headed to the 40's later...heat wave!
Will check the garden later. Bet the cabbage, collards, arugula, and mustard greens are sleeping under their covers. The freeze somehow makes them very sweet, so I hope they've made it through the cold weather. Got young seedlings almost ready to put in the ground.
Chestnut trees due to arrive today. Will stick them right in...holes are prepped.
Y'all stay warm...spring is about a month away!

We have a few left coming up. Lost two of the
old guys last year. Termites cored them out.

starches into sugar, hency some crops get sweeter if frozen before or after harvest
