I've been noticing an increase in the number of fake accounts posting on various websites and Twitter, and I've noticed what seems to be a coordinated media effort, especially among local outlets in ND (print and broadcast), to disparage and undercut the water protectors and stir up resentment and racism toward them. It's been happening all along, but it seems to be getting worse.

False stories are being circulated about elders being tied to chairs at the Oceti Oyate Camp, about the killing of deer near the camps, about the court cases, and more. Please be very careful where you get your information and what you pass along.

Like many other psy-ops, there can seem to be kernels of truth in what is being said, especially when disguised as "news." And with the individual accounts, sometimes the undercutting is subtle, with a "concern troll" approach. "Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that the water protectors are not who I thought they were" kind of crap.

The following list is just from today's posts. I'm not encouraging you to click on any of the following accounts, but if you see anything from these folks or anyone reposting anything from them, be very very skeptical. If you see others spreading disinformation in your travels around the web, please add them in the comments.

There are also many websites that are trying to raise money or to sell stuff in the name of the water protectors -- and a lot of those funds are being diverted away from support of the protectors. NTVS clothing has a "do not buy" list.

At this point, cash is preferred to stuff, since deliveries have been problematic, with the exception of large shipments of propane (tanker size) and wood (truckloads).
