Reflections

The sky was so unusually clear and blue for a good part of today, that It could have almost passed for late summer. What a welcome shift, even if not long lasting. Our days though are growing longer, and I welcome each minute.

As I was folding laundry (dried on the kachelofen) I was happily reminded of how satisfying the most mundane activities can be. One benefit of being home for the entire winter is relearning the tricks of everyday life in this climate of lots of rain and occasional respites while thankfully enjoying days of increasing length.

On a different track … what would it be like had we collectively chosen a different path of development while the opportunity was more available - one that honoured human and natural appreciation at least as much as anything else. I guess we’ve always had choices each step of the way, but maybe can only appreciate or understand upon reflection. I wonder if this time of insulation and change will encourage more reflection of the future we want to see.

Nice reflection and nice music. I have taken the liberty of cross posting Reflections to Talking Poetry and Sharing Stories in Louisville.

But for going in the opposite direction! Wink LOL I watch with relish the duration of the days decreasing here, because it is soooo dang hot and humid here in so.cent. Texas. I think it was 1 min. 11 sec. shorter today than yesterday (but who is counting) and I am thrilled about it. Smile When it is baking hot all day, ya can't wait for that sun to go down and those temps to start dropping.

It would be good if folks could use this 'down' time to re-evaluate their values, especially regarding materialism, consumerism, and the value of community, spirituality and enlightenment.

We can dream can't we?

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.
