Reddit and TikTok are supporting Kellogg's strikers

The workers at Kellogg's have been on strike for months. Three days ago the union and management came to an agreement.
The workers rejected it.

For months, the labor dispute has focused on details of the company's proposals for a two-tiered wage and benefit system. Since 2015, the company has had a system in which new workers receive lower wages and benefits than more established workers.

Bradshaw said the strike will go on. "The message we're trying to send and the message that we are saying is that we will last one day longer than them and one day stronger than them."

In response to the down vote, Kellogg's decided to try and break the union, in the traditional way - hiring strikebreakers.

"The prolonged work stoppage has left us no choice but to hire permanent replacement employees in positions vacated by striking workers . . . While certainly not the result we had hoped for, we must take the necessary steps to ensure business continuity. We have an obligation to our customers and consumers to continue to provide the cereals that they know and love."

That's when one of my favorite subreddits, antiwork, got involved. If you haven't seen antiwork before, it's worth a few minutes of your time.

In a Reddit post in the r/antiwork subreddit—which recently mobilized to hack businesses’ receipt printers to send out anti-work messaging—the user BloominFunions listed each of the job application sites and suggested that spamming the systems would throw some grit into Kellogg’s gears.

“It’s time to clog their toilet of an application pipeline,” they wrote. “Using the job posting links above, submit an application for one or more sites. When you apply, pretend you’re a resident of one of the cities with a Kellogg strike (Omaha, Battle Creek, Lancaster or Memphis) and make up an address and phone number using the zip codes and area codes listed below. This way they can’t filter out our apps easily.”

Then the kids on TikTok got involved. After all, why bother to fill out the applications one at a time when you can automate it.

After that, the activist and developer Sean Black, who uses the handle black_madness21 on TikTok, told his followers how he'd made the application process even easier.

"Apparently Kellogg are planning to replace workers who are fighting for better workplace conditions and better pay," Black said. He added, "You know what I had to do."

Demonstrating the code in process, Black said it automatically creates an account, fills in all personal details, and uploads a résumé on the company's site. "Not bad for a day's work, I'd say," he said.

Yes, we do know what you had to do, and we thank you.

I also approve of never eating Kellogg's products again.
Average pay for production at kelloggs in Battle Creek is $13.77.
CEO pay with bonus worth $11,000,000 in 2020.
Makes the same in one day as his average workers are paid in 279 days or basically one year of 5 days a week.

Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.

I've seen lots of changes. What doesn't change is people. Same old hairless apes.

I worked for them in direct delivery for 8 years. They treated us very very badly. The sales reps I worked with were working 12 to 16 hours a day. When sales weren't great they would cut my hours and make them work more. 7 days weeks were frequent for them, 6 day weeks were normal.

I was NOT aware Musk had overtaken Bezos.

This whole thing is eye-poppingly ridiculous - and can you say 'obvious death threat'??? I mean, online "death threats" have always struck me as a disease far less hazardous than the 'cures' they typically elicit (and are NOTHING new), but either be consistent or admit you're full of it. Apparently Twitter values the lives of mosquitoes over our worthiest movie stars ( https://www.newser.com/story/247967/death-threat-against-mosquito-gets-g... ). Leo should sue just so we can all see what happens.

How are those two both still alive???
