Protest Song Delegates Should Sing As Hillary Is Nominated: One More Charade(Parody Of One More Parade Anti-War Anthem By Phil Ochs)

Phil Ochs was a socialist, anti-war marcher, civil rights activist, and protest singer. He killed himself in his mid 30s due to a psychotic break brought on by, justified, paranoia that the FBI was tracking him.

Hup, two, three, four, marchin' down the street Rollin' of the bums and the trampin' of the weak Congress salutes and the voters rave and weep Here comes the big charade Don't be amazed, price is paid One more charade
CHORUS (So young, so strong, so ready for the war So willin' to go an' die for a corporate score All vote together, everybody looks the same So there is no one you can blame Don't be ashamed, light the flame One more charade)
Listen for the sound and listen for the noise Listen for the shilling of the corporate toys Few years ago their funds were only ploys Here comes the big charade Don't be amazed, price is paid One more charade
CHORUS
Media on their hooks and guns in their hands Trained to shill as they're trained to stand thousand seventy-six ears need only one command Here comes the big charade Don't be amazed, price is paid One more charade
CHORUS
Cold hard stares on faces so proud Kisses from the boards and digital cheers from the crowd And the widows from the last war cry into their shrouds Here comes the big charade Don't be amaazed, price is paid Don't be ashamed, war's a game World in flames So start the charade

Phil Ochs was far from the only one harassed by the FBI and other law enforcement agencies. Buffy Sainte-Marie had her career suffer because her records didn't make it into the shops. Her getting her FBI files showed why.

Billy Bragg updated the words to The Internationale - good job Billy - and on that EP is a song about Phil to the tune of Joe Hill. I think both are worth checking out.

"The justness of individual land right is not justifiable to those to whom the land by right of first claim collectively belonged"

One form involved small and subtle, but numerous and concerted, actions whose cumulative effect was to undermine a target’s self-confidence and mental health.

would never receive them. Airplay evaporated although Buffy Sainte-Marie remained a strong concert draw. Yes, thanks: numerous small attacks against her ability to earn a living in her chosen field was what it amounted to.

Sainte-Marie became a pioneer in computer generated art and invented "pow-wow rock" in response. Later, she became a regular on Sesame Street because "sometimes it's important just to let them know that you're still here."

Thanks for the information about Stasi - welcome, and new to me.

Other than that trick, I often create my posts on a word processor and then copy and paste to c99.

"Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realize we cannot eat money." --Nineteenth century Nēhilawē (Cree) proverb

Soldier. If no young men and women voluntarily joined the military, things would change greatly for the better.

Many thanks for posting these songs.

Cheers
