One Reason I'm Glad I Don't Have Children: Charter Schools (Video)

So a couple of years ago I wrote about how I had a vasectomy because my wife and I made the decision that we wouldn't have kids of our own. Seeing the video below will tell you just one of the many reasons why:
There's a lot I could say about this subject, considering I live in Florida. But I think I'll just let the video speak for itself. Sure, it's pretty damn funny, but you'll probably want to vomit at the same time. But I suppose that's just the way it is with an extraction based economy.
See ya around,

State takeover of failing schools is on the ballot in Georgia
this November. It would allow private ownership of county and municipal property. Evil!

Florida did something similar with Voc Rehab years ago.
That happened in '03 and the results were awful. And it's even worse now because Rick Scott keeps slashing the state's disability services. It also doesn't help that many of Voc Rehab's employment vendors are run by corporate CEOs.

There is one in Ithaca, big fight, I don't like the concept
like you. It MAY be better where we spend, on average, (facilities + teacher compensation) $20 K/student per year. I pray each year that my 1/3 student does well. In public school.

Sounds about right. And to make matters worse...
these charter schools often poach 'the best' kids from other districts/public schools and they lose even more resources in turn. But hey, at least we have those nice looking expensive schools for political photo ops.

Public schools all the way for me, fortunately.
Kids start on Monday, and they are going to the Portland Public.
Not perfect compared to their last school district, but the last one gave them a lot of good skills for the new ones.
(And my daughter gets to take music! Yeeeaaaaay! )
So yeah, this dumb Idea started in the era of... oh look at that... King Bush I , is beyond redemption, but every single candidate since the Reagan Years has been convinced his policies work...
I do not pretend I know what I do not know.
Try explaining that to the average voter.
Most would never listen, of course. They still choose to be stuck in a paradigm that ceased to exist decades ago.

Careful. More and more are going the Diploma Mill route.
The school I finished 2 degrees in started offering 4 year programs after I graduated. Not sure if that's good or bad but usually that means they're going toward the whole Diploma Mill thing. Yipee.
