Midnight Mulling - building your own network - ad-free! (mostly)

I apologize for posting the earlier evening's Midnight Mulling. But that's part of the learning process I suppose. I hope? And while retracting the publishing and then re-publishing later was an option (thanks!) instead, you have in front of you a brand new "Midnight Mulling," titled "Midnight Mulling - building your own ad-free (mostly) network." The earlier effort, "Midnight Mulling - Susan Smokes (but you can't call her lazy)" is still there too. And the two topics are related yet not related.

"Commercialism" and "Quality" sometimes have a strong relationship; sometimes they don't. And sometimes, well you figure it out:

As for Ben Heck and crew, the show doesn't seem to have a strong political lean, except they like soldering. I mean they really like soldering. And while Ben started the show (I think), the people that have joined the cast are able to solder also.

The hidden puppet masters: These folks (I think) - https://www.element14.com/community/welcome So if you like people that like building things, they host the Ben Heck Show (except youtube technically hosts the show - I think).

And here is another youtube hosted show, actually a group of shows, all called TED something something. This one comes from Cambridge - England - you know, the one that is not Oxford.
[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0d_QDgl3gI]
Unlike many of the TED shows, this show is only 10 minutes or so in length. But remember, Cambridge has a reputation for condensing. For example this from 1687, "Isaac Newton publishes 'Principia Mathematica', establishing the fundamental principles of modern physics."

The hidden puppet masters: TED is not a nickname for a senator from Texas, nor is it a movie about talking bears. TED is - well I don't know - here, you can see what they do: http://www.ted.com/ They do have some interesting topics. But it's not all left (sort of like... nevermind).

Now an ad in this otherwise ad-free environment. But don't turn it off yet. It's called, "Africa" and it is around one minute long. And some of us will not be able to buy the item. And you only see the name of the item at the end after a quick heart-tugging glance from a baby giraffe.

And it starts at only $18,000! (But you need about $27,000 for making a real movie.}

The hidden puppet masters: Vimeo hosts the show. Panasonic builds the camera. And if you decide to visit Vimeo, it has non-ad content as well.

Back to the Midnight Mulling - network. And sticking with Vimeo, here is a strong entry - if you like table games. And who doesn't like table games. (No that was not a question. Besides, you may like it.) So Shut Up & Sit Down - no, not a command, it's the show title. Sort of. See there are some other shows that have similar names. And this one can be found at - well several sites. Sort of like the games, sometimes the more confusing the game, the more fun:

The hidden puppet masters: Vimeo hosts the show, but in this case the hosts seem to run things under "ShutUpShow." They do seem to have fun, and the production qualities are pretty decent,

And finally, here's the longest show. And a confession. I really like a good teardown. Especially when it results in a working thing that I wouldn't mind for my own use. And only $19 - Australian dollars I might add.
[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghQYRv68qrU]
The hidden puppet masters: Back to youtube, but with an Australian accent this time. The name is "Dave." My rip-off monitor says: 0.

But then all of the shows here tonight at Midnight Mulling have an ultra-low or zero rip-off monitor reading - at least in my opinion. And all of the products can be seen with no money - even the Panasonic Varicam. After all, the camera itself is not shown, only the name.

And the name here? It's "Midnight Mulling." Happy viewing.

Edit: Remember "Midnight Mulling - building your own ad-free (mostly) network?" Well now it's, "Midnight Mulling - building your own network - ad-free! (mostly)." However, the original wording is still there in the main story - tradition, you know.

You can still make comments all day - and there's at least one show in the group above that you will like.

That clip called "Africa" lasts 1 minute plus some seconds: and you can change the video quality to your choice. And if it takes longer than your Internet, click the lower-left of the picture, watch the bar grow gray (or grey) a little, and click again. The click button is also useful for catching the face of the little giraffe at the end. Those eyes.

best, john

Strange that a harp of thousand strings should keep in tune so long
