Markos is just as stupid as ever

So I was curious how the GOS was reacting to Sanders dominating the primaries.
Even after multiple purges of hundreds of Bernie supporters, the rec'd list had plenty of pro-Bernie diaries (with an equal number of pro-Warren).

The front page OTOH was a different story.
One FP diary praised the ACA, because that's what the grassroots is talking about.
The real gem though was a podcast interview of Markos.

Moulitsas expressed frustration at former Vice President Joe Biden’s continued candidacy:

“Not only did [Joe Biden] eat up a lot of oxygen, but he basically was the singular reason both Kamala Harris and Cory Booker weren’t able to gain traction … he created this meta-narrative that a white male was necessary to defeat Donald Trump, thus damaging people like Elizabeth Warren, and then he goes and runs one of the most god awful campaigns in the history of presidential campaigns. So he has done nothing but wreak havoc and destroy the diversity of the field, and leave us with a field that is bereft of the stronger candidates we would need to move forward.”

Moulitsas also shared concerns that Michael Bloomberg has bought the support of a significant number of superdelegates, many of whom are mayors, explaining, “He has been racking up endorsements from mayors because he’s been seeding millions of dollars into cities for years now, and mayors are going to be a big crop of the superdelegate pool.”

Despite the popularity of Senator Bernie Sanders, Moulitsas believes the only viable candidate is one who can truly unite the party.

So Booker and Harris were such "stronger candidates" that they are no longer in the race.
Why? Because they were black. No other qualification matters to Markos.
Policies, vision, competence and character don't even register. Only race and gender.

Meanwhile, Bernie with the most diverse support, "can't unite the party".

DKos is sinking in the rankings even in middle of the primaries, they are so irrelevant.
Check out where DKos was ranked at this time during the last election. Note the numbers.

Okay I'll play this game. If Harris was such a great candidate then why didn't people support her? Centrists say that sexism and misogynism were the creatures that took her down, but she admitted that she folded her campaign because she didn't have money to keep it going. Did sexist people not donate money to her. Scratches head...

A front page diary has a petition for the media to quit not covering Warren. Funny though she used to get much more media coverage than Bernie did. But do go on...

You all know who is responsible for once great candidates to no longer be in the race. Y'all know what I'm talking about...yeppers it 'twas Russia.

@snoopydawg Someone did a Harris postmortem video on YouTube and, sure enough, Harris blamed racism and sexism on some talk show or another. Sorry I can't find the clip at the moment, but I'm sure it's out there.

Great comeback. DoV is very busy these days blocking Russian bots and reporting them to Twitter jail. She goes out of her way to post some graphic showing how they are probably trolls. Good thing Twitter doesn't have a rule on calling people out for shilling with no evidence.

This from the article gjohnsit posted about the ides of March.

“Bernie Bro”—irritatingly fanatical men on social media who supported Sanders and opposed Clinton based on sexist cultural biases.

This is a dead giveaway that she is a Hillary dead head. Again for those at the back. I did not vote for Her because of her past votes and policies and not because she is a woman. Period.

Combine the words competence and character in a search term with "Democrat" as third modifier, you will retrieve only a few names, of which Bernie will be one. But, really, sir, are you a masochist or simply leading a reconnaissance into enemy territory.

I took advantage of the last day before the opening salvo of hostilities to exit DK and have never regretted doing so. Then, perhaps out of wistful yearning, I would go back to tease the goldfish. But confusing a goldfish yields rapidly diminishing pleasure; whereas eating many goldfish--well, that's another subject.

So, thank you for venturing into Crazy Town, a journey upon which I will no longer embark.

But Sanders’ most dogged grassroots supporters have not disappeared.

They might have left the Daily Kos, but instead they’ve dispersed to more obscure, leftist corners of the Internet, where they are plotting their next moves. Taking up the hashtags #StillSanders and #NeverHillary, Sanders’ staunchest allies—who range from Democrats to Greens to unaffiliated renegades—are lurking in Reddit forums like “Kossacks_for_Sanders,” on emerging niche blogs such as Caucus99Percent and The Progressive Wing, and on YouTube vlogs like “The Sane Progressive,” where their fervor for the candidate and his progressive ideals is still very much alive.
...
The purists among these online activists describe their movement principally as one of populist ideals, including mass political mobilization, combating income equality, creating a more progressive tax system and stopping climate change. But a large faction of the movement is also made up of political misfits united in contempt for core elements of today’s Democratic Party: superdelegates, the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement, Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, corporate media and money, what they believe to be widespread election fraud—and, of course, Clinton herself, despite her pending nomination. “What I hope Sanders’ fight does is mobilize the base to organize outside of the Democratic Party, which is and has been for years and obstacle to progressive change,” Joe Shikspack, founder of Caucus99Percent, told me in an interview in the days ahead of Sanders’ endorsement of Clinton.
...
The profile of Caucus99Percent users is further left. Evolving from mailing lists, Google groups and primitive webpages, Caucus99Percent was started as a non-partisan progressive blog in January 2015 with a few hundred active community members. But the site grew suddenly to over 2,100 users following Daily Kos’ endorsement of Clinton in March, when “word got out that our site would allow people to advocate for Bernie,” says Joe Shikspack, a Maryland-based co-administrator of the site. Although the site does not endorse any candidate, its community is largely composed of Sanders supporters who do not affiliate with a party, including many who have been involved in the 2011 Occupy movement, anti-war protests and environmentalism efforts. “The two major parties monopolize the political space and present us with choices that are completely unacceptable in terms of creating the better world that we are looking for,” says Shikspack, who will join the ranks of Sanders progressives at the Philadelphia convention.

Shikspack’s skepticism, much like that of patrons of his site, is rooted in the belief that the Democratic primary was “rigged” in more ways than one. He says DNC chairman Wasserman Shultz “went out of her way to make the rules to favor Clinton”; that the primary debate schedule gave Clinton more exposure; that electronic voting systems have resulted in voter roll purges; and that the Hillary Victory Fund, a joint fundraising venture of Clinton’s presidential campaign, the DNC and 32 state party committees, is a giant “fundraising scam.”

Sure 2,100 people just up and decided to leave DK on their own without any help from the site owner's banning them left and left...heh

My read is that Markos wants Biden gone because he's rooting for Pete to coalesce the anti-Bernie Dems and sees Biden blocking Pete's rise. Kos is probably not wrong about that dynamic.

But what Markos misses is that Biden voters' second choice in most states is Bernie - not Pete. So while Pete may get some bounce from Joe's inevitable demise, Bernie will get a bigger one, and even more importantly reduce the number of potentially viable opponents Bernie has to deal with come convention time.

Bernie being roasted for saying something nice about Cuba. But Obama did the same thing.

Obama’s not running for President now, Sanders is.

Ain’t it cute how Obama is suddenly fabulous to some supporters on Twitter when it’s convenient. Some times he is just a centrist, neoliberal blablabla.

The defense here of Sanders praising Castro is pretty rich coming from the same crowd who screamed about Chris Matthews oblique reference to Nazis (in which he neither praised or even mentioned Nazis).

On how the hideously flawed ACA is very popular.

The ACA has never been more popular, and we are about to nominate a candidate who vows to eliminate the ACA.Just brilliant.

Looks like a few people on the orange swamp are nervous about Bernie's chances of winning.

@snoopydawg I beg to differ.

Chris Matthews apologizes to Sanders for Nazi reference

MSNBC host Chris Matthews apologized Monday to Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders for comparing his campaign victory in Nevada to the Nazi takeover of France.

Matthews has been under fire from the Sanders camp and from pundits in general over the reference.

Sanders' communications chief, Mike Casca, tweeted about the reference, "never thought part of my job would be pleading with a national news network to stop likening the campaign of a Jewish presidential candidate whose family was wiped out by the Nazis to the third Reich. But here we are."

Just another example of Dem mouthpiece anti-semitism. Or is a Nazi not a Nazi when the MSM talk about them?
