Light Reading: $6 Trillion Unaccounted for at DOD in 2015

So here's the report of a $6 Trillion error, or slight-of-hand, or slovenly behavior, or kerfuffle. Probably just a goof-up.

Dated last summer when all the kerfuffle was going on about stuff.

U.S. Army fudged its accounts by trillions of dollars, auditor finds

By Scot J. Paltrow | NEW YORK
The United States Army’s finances are so jumbled it had to make trillions of dollars of improper accounting adjustments to create an illusion that its books are balanced.

The Defense Department’s Inspector General, in a June report, said the Army made $2.8 trillion in wrongful adjustments to accounting entries in one quarter alone in 2015, and $6.5 trillion for the year. Yet the Army lacked receipts and invoices to support those numbers or simply made them up...

UK GDP was 2.8 Trillion, GDP of Russia was 1.3 Trillion. So 2 UK economies or 4 Russian economies have been "lost" by the DOD.

Beware the bullshit factories.

This is not the first or even second time that the DOD has lost trillions of tax payer money.
Instead of being asked to account for these loses Trump and the GOP wants to give them billions more
while at the same time destroying the safety net. We cannot afford Meals on Wheels, but the DOD gets a free pass for incompetence or right out theft.

I'm sure that they know where a good portion of that cash is.

Might want to check with the pmc contractor's too. I mean those several thousand a day salaries don't appear out of hats.

I do not pretend I know what I do not know.

reported, I think it was three TRillion, missing. For some reason I remember the date: 9/10, 2001.

They've gotten so much more efficient over there.

Though I should have always known it, reading this essay here made it crystal clear: the Forever War is about sucking the resources out of us to line their own pockets and pursue their lunatic schemes just as much as it is about stealing other nations' resources. National Security down low on the list of priorities.

I think defense spending is the black hole that disappears as much money as can be imagined. It underwrites all that can be termed as "wealth" in our country and beyond. It is unaccounted for because so much of the line items are about secret things, projects that can't be described openly, or seen by the public, lest our ENEMIES know what we're building, designing, deploying, working on. The secrecy creates a potential for immense abuse, which then creates a need to perpetuate the secrecy.
