When the living memory of voters included Senate Democrats with the backbone to reject unqualified Nixon SC nominees and put Ford on notice not to nominate a hack for retiring SC Justice William O Douglas and we got John Paul Stevens. The message from the Democratically controlled US Senate to GHW Bush should have been that only an exceptionally well-qualified nominee will be confirmed for retiring Justice Thurgood Marshall's replacement. That would have avoided the circus hearings for the unqualified Thomas.
As 76th in his law school graduating class of 85, Biden as Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee was hardly in a position to talk about exceptionally well-qualified. Biden is responsible for tipping the balance in the SC.

This accurately sums up Biden's history in the senate. The crime bill alone should keep minorities from voting for him. The reason why younger people won't is because he made student loan debt nonchargeable. Asset forfeiture too is his baby as is the ramp up of the war on drugs and the police powers that came from it.
