It's California. Yup.

The most expensive race for a nothing congress seat. This is what happened.

From the NYT?

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/06/20/us/politics/georgia-6th-m...

Most of the itemized contributions to Mr. Ossoff were from large Democratic states like California and New York. Just 14 percent came from Georgia, compared with 56 percent of Ms. Handel’s contributions. Among open-seat House candidates who raised at least $100,000 in 2016, the median in-state percentage of contributions was 82 percent.

And this.

http://dailycaller.com/2017/06/19/ossoff-has-nine-times-as-many-donors-i...

Georgia Democrat Jon Ossoff raised funds from 8.9 times as many donors in California than donors in Georgia between March 29 and May 31, according to his latest campaign finance reporting.

He reported 7,218 donations from the state of California and 808 donations from Georgia over the past two months, according to the Mercury News. Ossoff had over 3,000 donors in the San Francisco Bay area alone, nearly four times as many donors as he had in Georgia.

Georgians? Atlanta? Repug seat? Whoa. What a f'g shock.

You think those voters liked the national attention?

He was a milquetoast with no message.

They smeared him with SF and Nancy. Really? You've got to be hosing me. Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!

He had no response. $$$ rules. Not.

This is why we lose.

There are stats, that I can no longer find, that say eliminating CA would mean Drumpf won the popular vote by 1 Million.

CA has been in a death spiral since the passage of Prop 13

Proposition 13 (officially named the People's Initiative to Limit Property Taxation) was an amendment of the Constitution of California enacted during 1978, by means of the initiative power. It was approved by California voters on June 6, 1978. It was declared constitutional under federal law by the United States Supreme Court in the case of Nordlinger v. Hahn, 505 U.S. 1 (1992). Proposition 13 is embodied in Article XIII A of the California Constitution.[1] Proposition 13 has been part of the California Constitution for 39 years and 14 days.

Can't wait for the big one that sets them adrift...

While you wait, John Mayall - California. Good times.

No worries, they'll invest in even more lipstick.

Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.

A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.

seems he has all the qualities progressives like in a candidate, right?
Wait, what's that? He's a centrist and ran on centrist values with the backing of Nancy Pelosi who once promised us in 2006 that if we elected more democrats to congress that they would roll back the Bush abuses. Remember that? I certainly do. And I remember what Pelosi told us after we did just that.
Here are a few of the issues that Ossof was running on:

Ossoff even went out of his way to disavow single-payer health insurance coverage and ruled out increasing taxes for the rich.

When Handel slipped up, stating during a debate that she did not support increasing the minimum wage to a “livable wage,” Ossoff drew a clear contrast, insisting on his support for a higher minimum wage. But he has declined to say how high he would raise it or to use the issue in any of his ads.

This is what is acceptable now to people who are willing to vote for anyone who has a D after their name.
