Posted last July, this site has just about everything we might want to know about who they are and how they destroy economies around the world. It makes it much easier to connect the dots to their political donations and what is to me, rampant corruption with impunity. I am putting it on speed dial.

Hedge funds and billionaire hedge fund managers have swooped into Puerto Rico during a fast-moving economic crisis to prey on the vulnerable island. Several groups of hedge funds and billionaire hedge fund managers have bought up large chunks of Puerto Rican debt at discounts, pushed the island to borrow more, and are driving towards devastating austerity measures. At the same time, they are also using the island as a tax haven.
The hedge fund billionaires active in the Puerto Rican debt crisis are the same characters pushing austerity and privatization in New York and across America.

Constitutionally, Puerto Rico is a colony and its status
is governed under the "territorial clause" - Article IV section 3 - of the US Constitution.
It has been a colony for 500 years: 400 under the Spanish and 100+ under the USA. Puerto Rico's debt cannot be paid off or even serviced and the so-called vulture funds are demanding the continued improverishment of the population and the giveaway of commons like the water system to bondholders.
One of the deans of the Pontifical University of Ponce(and author of the bishops' study on the crisis) concludes that neoliberal policies have resulted in a withering of local industry and agriculture.
