Greenwald on today’s theater of the absurd on the 1/6 insurrection

The Histrionics & Melodrama Around 1/6 Are Laughable, But They Serve Several Key Purposes

As Kamala Harris compares 1/6 to 9/11 and Nancy Pelosi introduces the cast of Hamilton to sing about democracy, today's inanity should not obscure its dangers...

The number of people killed by pro-Trump supporters at the January 6 Capitol riot is equal to the number of pro-Trump supporters who brandished guns or knives inside the Capitol. That is the same number as the total of Americans who — after a full year of a Democrat-led DOJ conducting what is heralded as “the most expansive federal law enforcement investigation in US history” — have been charged with inciting insurrection, sedition, treason or conspiracy to overthrow the government as a result of that riot one year ago. Coincidentally, it is the same number as Americans who ended up being criminally charged by the Mueller probe of conspiring with Russia over the 2016 election, and the number of wounds — grave or light — which AOC, who finally emerged at night to assure an on-edge nation that she was “okay" while waiting in an office building away from the riot at the rotunda, sustained on that solemn day.

E53100C2-B65A-4204-8EAE-8CCD28956F3B.jpeg

That number is zero. But just as these rather crucial facts do not prevent the dominant wing of the U.S. corporate media and Democratic Party leaders from continuing to insist that Donald Trump's 2016 election victory was illegitimate due to his collusion with the Kremlin, it also does not prevent January 6 from being widely described in those same circles as an Insurrection, an attempted coup, an event as traumatizing as Pearl Harbor (2,403 dead) or the 9/11 attack (2,977 dead), and as the gravest attack on American democracy since the mid-19th Century Civil War (750,000 dead). The Huffington Post's White House reporter S.V. Date said that it was wrong to compare 1/6 to 9/11, because the former — the three-hour riot at the Capitol — was “1,000 percent worse.”

Indeed, when it comes to melodrama, histrionics, and exploitation of fear levels from the 1/6 riot, there has never been any apparent limit. And today — the one-year anniversary of that three-hour riot — there is no apparent end in sight. Too many political and media elites are far too vested in this maximalist narrative for them to relinquish it voluntarily.

The orgy of psychodrama today was so much worse and more pathetic than I expected — and I expected it to be extremely bad and pathetic. “House Democrats [waited] their turn on the House floor to talk to Dick Cheney as a beacon for American democracy,” reported CNN's Edward-Isaac Dovere. Nancy Pelosi gravely introduced Lin-Manuel Miranda and the cast of Hamilton to sermonize and sing about the importance of American democracy.

(Lin: "we must never take our rights and liberties for granted" as Biden’s trying to force people to get a medical procedure against their will. You can’t make that up!)

The Huffington Post's senior politics reporter Igor Bobic unironically expressed gratitude for “the four legged emotional support professionals roaming the Capitol this week, helping officers, staffers, and reporters alike.” Yesterday, CNN's Kaise Hunt announced: "Tomorrow is going to be a tough one for those of us who were there or had loved ones in the building. Thinking of all of you and finding strength knowing I’m not alone in this." Unsurprisingly but still repellently: Kamala Harris today compared 1/6 to 9/11.

The Democratic Party, eager to cling to their majoritarian control of the White House and both houses of Congress, knows it has no political program that is appealing and thus hopes that this concocted drama will help them win — just as they foolishly believed about Russiagate. With the threat of Al Qaeda and ISIS faded if not gone, and the attempt to scare Americans over Putin a failure, the U.S. security state, always in need of a scary enemy, has settled on the claim that right-wing “domestic extremists" are the greatest threat to U.S national security; though they claimed this before 1/6, casting 1/6 as an insurrection allows them to classify an entire domestic political movement as an insurrectionary criminal group and thus justify greater spying powers and budgetary authorities.

C88C68AA-1160-4AFD-AA33-171349B88764.jpeg

The pettiness and absurdity of this Democrat/media narrative, laughable as it often is, does not mean it is free of danger. Asserting that the U.S. suffered an attempted coup by a still-vibrant armed faction of insurrectionists is a self-evidently inflammatory claim. It has been used to allocate billions more to the Capitol Police and to radically expand their powers; justify the increased domestic use of FBI tactics including monitoring and infiltration; and agitate for the mass imprisonment of political adversaries, including elected members of Congress. Hapless defendants who are not even accused of using violence have been held in harsh solitary confinement for close to a year, then sentenced to years in prison — while self-styled criminal justice reform advocates say nothing or, even worse, cheer. If one genuinely believes that the U.S. came close to a violent overthrow of American democracy and still faces the risk of an insurrection, then it is rational to sanction radical acts by the U.S. security state that, in more peaceful and normal times, would be unthinkable.

Where is this “insurrection"? What happened to it? Where did it go? The January 6 protest barely lasted four hours until it was easily subdued. Copying the Bush/Cheney model of keeping fear levels high by constantly issuing vague warnings of looming violence and doom, the Department of Homeland Security issued at least six separate "heightened threat” warnings last year, not a single one of which materialized. There were no violent protests in Washington, D.C. or in state capitols on Inauguration Day; no violent protests materialized the week after Biden's inauguration; no violent protest erupted once COVID lockdowns were eased due to social media provocations; none happened on the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attack; there was no right-wing violence perpetrated in connection with the commemoration of the 100th year anniversary of the Tulsa massacre. Each time such a warning was issued, cable outlets and liberal newspapers breathlessly reported them, ensuring fear levels remained high.

What is really going on here is as tawdry as it is obvious. Democrats have no governing program on which they can run and win. The complete collapse of the party was temporarily obscured by the once-in-a-generation talent in Barack Obama and the very narrow win in 2020 of a banal, empty septuagenarian, thanks to the incumbent-killing double crisis of a devastating pandemic and economic shutdown. But the edifice of this party collapsed under Obama — “the Whole Democratic Party is Now a Smoking Pile of Rubble,” warned supreme Democratic partisan Matt Yglesias at Vox in 2016 — and it is collapsing once again under Biden. Its only ideologies — neoliberalism, corporatism, militarism — are widely despised failures, but they are imprisoned by their donor base from offering anything else.

8684BB61-A783-4C05-9998-AC2D3661CE8F.jpeg

A party that does not believe it can win politically often tries to criminalize its adversaries. That is what Democrats did during the Trump years: focused not on defeating his legislative agenda but obsessing on the fantasy that FBI Superman Robert Mueller was going to come and round up Trump and his family members and associates and haul them off to prison. The Democrats’ beloved former CIA Director, NBC News star John Brennan, all but promised that was going to happen two weeks before Robert Mueller closed his investigation by announcing he found no evidence to establish the core crime of conspiring with Russia.

67A1BA59-4B81-4D60-9ADC-7177DF6603D9.jpeg

When that four-year-long prison fantasy collapsed, they quickly switched to a new one: Merrick Garland was going to come and round up Trump and his allies in Congress like Josh Hawley and Matt Gaetz and haul them off to prison as traitors and seditionists. After a full year of producing nothing but banal trespassing and assault charges — no sexy allegations of insurrection or sedition let alone the arrest of Trump and his relatives — Democrats, who spent four years pretending to revere an apolitical DOJ, are now intensifying their political pressure on Garland to deliver. In a press conference on Wednesday, the beleaguered Attorney General addressed those political attacks directly and urged Democrats to have patience, implying that people not present at the Capitol on 1/6 could and would be criminally charged. Fantasies of Trump in handcuffs once again danced in the heads of Adam Schiff, Laurence Tribe, and Eric Swalwell.

As demonstrated by the glee universally expressed by Democrats over Twitter's banning this week of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (D-GA), it is not an exaggeration to say the top priority for Democrats is to turn their opponents into criminals who are silenced, censored, rounded up by prosecutors and then imprisoned. That is why they are so content to see Julian Assange (an actually persecuted and traumatized journalist) rotting in prison: to them, his real crime is that he helped elect Donald Trump and, for that, he deserves prison. That is why this Insurrection narrative surrounding 1/6 is so vital to Democrats: it ensures that they are not facing a different ideological camp but rather a band of criminals and domestic terrorists who deserve not a defeat at the ballot box but censorship by a union of state and corporate power, followed by a prison cell.

As usual, the prime beneficiaries of all of this, and the most dangerous one, is the U.S. security state. They need, above all else, an existential threat to justify their endless growth and unchecked power. All of the old villains are largely vanquished and stale (Communism, Al Qaeda, ISIS), while the proposed stand-ins never really panned out (Americans never woke up thinking about Putin). That is when they began claiming that the most serious threat was a domestic one: fellow American citizens who harbor “extremist” ideologies. Though they claim that it is right-wing extremists who pose the greatest threat — white supremacist extremists to be exact — the lists they disseminate of who falls under this rubric — encompasses essentially anyone left, right or in between — who sees the world differently than Wolf Blitzer, Joe Scarborough and Chris Hayes see it: meaning dissidents, those who distrust the decrees of authority and wish to subvert rather than submit to establishment power. Claiming that the U.S. is facing an Insurrection and barely survived a "coup” is a script that could not be better suited to their interests.

There are genuine unresolved questions surrounding the 1/6 riot that are genuinely important and merit scrutiny. It is proven that the FBI had at least two informants on the ground with whom it was communicating as the protest unfolded, but the full extent of the FBI's role — whether it replicated what it repeatedly did during the first War on Terror and then again in engineering the attempted kidnapping of Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer — remains unknown. That is because the only bodies capable of discovering the answers — the DOJ and the Congressional 1/6 Committee — have no interest in finding out. The contrary is true: they have a strong interest in suppressing those facts because it undermines rather than advances their fear narrative.

There are a lot of unanswered questions regarding that day. Did the FBI help setup the riots? One guy named Epps told people the night before that they should enter the capital the next day and was seen trying to rile people up, but even though he’s been recognized by the FBI he hasn’t been arrested. One guy who worked for the FBI said that he recognized a few guys that were still agents.

Pelosi was in charge of security for the capital and even though the whole world knew about the Trump speech and others saying that they were going to be at the capital that day she didn’t deem it fit to beef up extra security. U. S. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund tried to get the national guard to be there or on hand if needed only to be turned down. Lots of other things happened that day that makes me wonder if it was a setup for a false flag so that there could be new laws for domestic terrorism. And other things if you want to look at this article.

...of cutting through all distraction and noise and displaying the historic moments and ensuing attitudes that are going to impact the People's lives and determine their future. He offers many enlightening revelations in the article that are worth remembering, because they will answer many question about things that Americans are going to experience in the very near future. I pulled out the three passages that struck me as most important.

THE PERMANENT STATE:

The edifice of the [Democratic] party collapsed under Obama ... and it is collapsing once again under Biden. Its only ideologies — neoliberalism, corporatism, militarism — are widely despised failures, but [Democrats] are imprisoned by their donor base from offering anything else.

.

THE HYPOCRITICAL STATE

A party that does not believe it can win politically often tries to criminalize its adversaries. That is what Democrats did during the Trump years [and what they] demonstrated this week [with their] universal glee over Twitter's banningof Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (D-GA). It is not an exaggeration to say the top priority for Democrats is to turn their opponents into criminals who are silenced, censored, rounded up by prosecutors and then imprisoned. That is why they are so content to see Julian Assange (an actually persecuted and traumatized journalist) rotting in prison.

.

THE SECURITY STATE

As usual, the prime beneficiaries of all of this, and the most dangerous one, is the U.S. security state. They need, above all else, an existential threat to justify their endless growth and unchecked power. That is when the [Security State] began claiming that the most serious threat was a domestic one: fellow American citizens who harbor “extremist” ideologies. .

Political Parties stopped representing the interests of the American people when they started lining their pockets with generous "donations" from US Corporations and the wealthy elite. The interests of these Donors actually harm the well being of the People, and they have actively denied Americans many important Human Rights. But for decades, Americans believed the government propaganda and lies pushed by Corporate media sources. The People denied the steadily declining quality of their lives, and they closed their eyes to the blight and neglect that was visible throughout the nation's ugly and dangerous infrastructure.

Thanks for posting this, Snoopydog. I've been reading so much lately, but this one was a true standout for me.

Lots of other things happened that day that makes me wonder if it was a setup for a false flag so that there could be new laws for domestic terrorism.

.

Now that I think about it, I've been referring to a lot of things as a "false flag" lately. It certainly describes just about every diplomatic gesture that the US makes. I also look back on recent Presidential elections as "false flags."

From day one, I laughed at anyone who over-reacted to January 6th. I saw the event as stupid and petty. Besides, there was something very fake about it. How were a small group of delusional unarmed people going to overthrow the government? It was a joke, right? We could laugh at their stupidity, or perhaps pity them for their horrible mental health conditions.

But when people in Washington pretended to take it seriously — and actually brought in the National Guard to protect something, something that was never under attack in the first place — I knew it was a false flag.

Every American should recognize a false flag by now. No more excuses. Their survival depends on it.

Any other passages in Greenwald's article that should be highlighted?

But when people in Washington pretended to take it seriously — and actually brought in the National Guard to protect something, something that was never under attack in the first place — I knew it was a false flag.

People had a problem with Trump using the national guard for protection during the BLM riots slash protests, but then had no problem with them patrolling the capital and building fences to wall off congress from we the people for months on end? I couldn’t believe how they just accepted it.

As for the drama and celebration of the anniversary it was definitely the theater of the absurd. Emotional support dawgs for congress a year after? A musical rendition of something made up for money? Boy those congress critters are pampered aren’t they? Imagine if every school shooting had celebrations like this on their anniversary? Imagine bringing in the worst school bully back to the school who had terrorized people and was despised only for them to get special treatment like Cheney did. So congress had a taste of what millions of school kids go through every year since Columbine back in 1997 or 98. Those children haven’t gotten the same type of protection that congress is getting. Congress doesn’t have to worry about a cop throwing them to the ground or violently arresting them. Also school shootings are one and done unless congress wants to make something from them. But for this event we’re getting daily reminders of how bad congress reacted and everything else we have been subjected to for a year.

Yesterday the HuffPost was full of articles about the past and present kabuki surrounding this and today there are still more. Gotta drive the fear of those Trump supporting Nazi-white supremists home. Just take a look at the wreck list today or yesterday or tomorrow or weeks from now. It makes me wonder if anyone there is getting motivated to keep writing about it and Trump bad, republicans beholden to Russia-Putin and Russia is a poor backward country and so many other falsehoods.

From Blue Republic:

The MSM have cranked up the hysteria to 11 on this one - suggests a certain desperation on their part - certainly wouldn't do to have people start to take an interest in what really took place (or didn't) on 1/6, and what has (and hasn't) happened subsequently.

Another snippet:

Democrats’ media allies — the axis of the The New York Times, NBC News, CNN, The Atlantic, The New Yorker, and the undifferentiated and rapidly disappearing mass of Brooklyn-based digital outlets (HuffPostGizmodoBuzzFeedDailyBeastIntercept MotherJonesViceVultureVox, who churn out the same content with just a few more curse words and radical poses) — now speak only to and for one another when they are not failing completely. Keeping Americans hooked on fear — of Putin's takeover of the U.S., of COVID, of an imminent fascist coup — is their only hope for relevance, profit, and purpose.

Not only for that event, but they did it daily for every day Trump was president and made him seem to be a way different type of president from the previous ones who committed just as bad or worse heinous crimes that Trump did. Every day it was another level of fear and loathing geared toward Trump until people had rehabilitated them into kind, caring men who had gone just a little astray.

I hope people read it at the source cuz of course I had to leave a lot out. I might have stretched fair use too. I agree, Glenn really nailed what actually happened that day and why it was allowed. One of his best points is pointing out that Americans who have been found guilty of no crime whatsoever are being held in solitary confinement and stripped of their rights and the prison reformers are cheering for it. Oh well, they’ve given democrats a pass for not doing police reform that is long overdue. But with Biden as president I never expected them to…

Is telling me that we have to ban the evil insurrectionist-supporting congress critters or the Republic is doomed...

This came in literally two e-mails behind Greenwald's from Substack linking to the article above - as if to prove his point:

Today is the anniversary of Trump's violent attempt to overthrow democracy. As the threat has only grown worse over the last year, we're teaming up with Free Speech For People to launch a new and urgent campaign to demand Secretaries of State bar politicians who engaged in the January 6, 2021 insurrection from appearing on any future ballot.

Enacted in the wake of the Civil War, Section 3 of the 14th Amendment disqualifies from public office any individual who has taken an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution and then engages in insurrection or rebellion against the United States or gives aid or comfort to those who have.

Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Mo Brooks of Alabama, Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs of Arizona, Madison Cawthorn of North Carolina, and Louie Gohmert of Texas all must be banned.

Sorry, this is a bit scattered but it's late here..

Thank you for posting, Snoop.

The MSM have cranked up the hysteria to 11 on this one - suggests a certain desperation on their part - certainly wouldn't do to have people start to take an interest in what really took place (or didn't) on 1/6, and what has (and hasn't) happened subsequently.

Consider the spin on this - on Yahoo! from Business Insider:

Guy Reffitt is awaiting trial in jail after his son turned him in to the FBI after the Capitol riot.

His 19-year-old son, Jackson, told Vice News he fears his dad is radicalizing more in jail.

The Capitol riot and Guy Reffitt's arrest have torn the family apart, Vice reported.

A college student who turned his father in to the FBI after the Capitol riot told Vice News' David Gilbert he fears his dad is becoming more radicalized in jail.

Guy Reffitt, a Texas man and member of the far-right Three Percenters group, was arrested at his home on January 19 after his son, Jackson, tipped off the FBI.

According to court documents, the elder Reffitt was charged with five counts, including possession of a semi-automatic weapon on Capitol grounds. He has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial with dozens of other Capitol riot defendants at the Central Detention Facility in Washington, DC.

Well, yeah - being thrown in solitary confinement for going on a year in sub-Gitmo conditions might not tend to imbue you with warm and fuzzy sentiments toward your captors. But hey, this guy must be a violent rioter, no? After all, look at that gun charge!

Well, maybe not. The statement about him "charged with... possession of a semi-automatic weapon on Capitol grounds."

Is not alleged at all in the Fed Affidavit in support of his arrest. (Refitt admitted taking two firearms on the drive from Texas to DC, but stated he disassembled them to comply with DC law - neither he, nor anyone else have been charged with having a gun at the Capitol that day).

In any case there is much to suggest that key elements of that day's events were engineered, likely by Feds, to discredit conservatives and to disrupt Congressional challenges to certifying the election result. This would be very much in keeping with how they entrapped numerous young Muslims in 'terrorist plots' of their own devising and, more recently have been revealed as doing in the supposed right-wing white supremacist plot to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer.

In which it is now revealed that most of the participants were FBI assets.

Ray Epps - Oathkeeper leader, clearly involved in 1/6 events and urging people into the Capitol goes from being on the initial wanted list to off it - remains unindicted and un-interrogated...

Good work on this also from American Greatness:

The FBI is a corrupt body that has lost the trust of many Americans, including Republicans who’ve historically supported the bureau. If the FBI infiltrated political groups months ahead of the protest, orchestrated travel plans, and instigated criminal behavior as the FBI apparently did in the Whitmer plot, the American people deserve to know.

More questions demand answers, including:

Why does the government continue to conceal 14,000 hours of surveillance video taken inside and outside the Capitol building on January 6? If the “attack” was indeed an act of domestic terror, as Wray concluded, the public should see every minute of the footage. Instead, the Justice Department continues to petition the court to keep every clip under a protective order with limited access even to defendants and their attorneys.
Who planted the alleged pipe bombs outside the headquarters of the Republican National Committee and Democratic National Committee on the evening of January 5? That scare prompted the first set of evacuations right as Trump finished his speech at the Ellipse the next day. Considering the excessive powers the FBI has used to hunt down Capitol trespassers, including geofence warrants to collect cell phone data of everyone in the city that day, it’s inexplicable that the perpetrator has not been caught and charged—unless, of course, the perpetrator was a fed.
Who gave the orders to D.C. and Capitol police to assault protesters with explosive devices such as flashbangs, pepper balls, rubber bullets, and chemical spray? The unwarranted attacks led to most of the confrontations between police and protesters, resulting in more than 100 charges of assaulting police officers against Capitol protesters. At the same time, the government is concealing the names of officers involved in the alleged attacks, contending they are crime victims and require privacy.
Who are the officers who beat, punched, stomped, and maced women inside the lower west terrace tunnel that afternoon? One of the women, Victoria White, faces numerous criminal charges but her brutal attackers have not been identified or charged. In any other case of police brutality, the names of the officers would be released almost immediately. But once again, the rules are different for January 6.
Where is the report on the internal investigation into Michael Byrd, the Capitol cop who shot and killed Ashli Babbitt and who remains on the force to this day?
Who are the officers who let hundreds of people into the building that afternoon?
Why did House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser reject offers for thousands of National Guard soldiers to assist with security on January 6?
Where is the full autopsy report on Rosanne Boyland, one of two women who died on January 6? The D.C. coroner claimed she died of an accidental drug overdose but video and eyewitness accounts support a more sinister culprit: that police contributed to—if not caused—her death at the age of 34. Capitol police officers Aquilino Gonell and Harry Dunn testified that they handled her body before she was officially pronounced dead that evening around 6:00 p.m. What did they do?

Thanks for highlighting Ray Epps. The FBI put him on the list of people to identify and once he had been all of a sudden everything against him disappeared. Which brings up another thing. Democrats started working with the FBI instead of remembering what they had been their whole lives. I got whiplash from how they embraced them.

Let’s not forget that someone ran a psyops against republican voters too that was just as bad as democrats ran Russia Gate against theirs which caught up a lot of people. In fact it might have had worse consequences. People were told that democrats were doing heinous things to kids at the same time as the Epstein saga was in the news. Lots of people who went to Washington that day were believers and only after being separated from the information have they started seeing it for what it was. People went down rabbit holes I bet they would have laughed at before.

ETA that psyops was the Q phenomenon that might have been done by the FBI. Hopefully someone gets to the bottom of it some day.

One video showed people just being outside nice and peacefully and boom! cops started using tear gas and shooting smoke grenades. Reminded me of the BLM protests during Obama when they were peaceful until the cops showed up and then all hell broke out.

It's an interesting question: if one party or another is evil, does it matter if it gets overthrown? By overthrown I'm including not counting certified electoral votes. If the dems don't offer anything of value is it ok for Congress to decide that they won't acknowledge the vote?

if so, then there's no point in voting. Well....there's no point now, anyway, but is the illusion of democracy of any use?

the real coup d' etat that is going on right now, the coup the oligarchs in the Geneva School set up to create a government of by and for the oligarchs. Many Americans can see something is going on and they should be understood to be in some small way right. They can see that the vast majority of American are being consigned to an underclass where they have no future, especially the poor. They didnt vote for that, and indeed, no real Democrat I have ever met would vote for thet.

Ive been reading quite a bit about the events of 1945 and I see why many connect the neoliberal hijack with fascism, that seems like a valid connection to me.

I just found another connection. It seems that the final 1945 speech of Churchill, the one that was blamed for his loss, was inspired by the teachings of F. W Hayek, as expressed in his "The Road to Serfdom" which Churchill read around that time and was enthralled with. This gives the event huge relevant today for indeed hayek is often cited as the shining light of the very same neoliberal cult that today has successfully displaced the democracies of the world with rigid trade ideologies. No I am not kidding. But when confronted with the actual ideologies espoused by neoliberals and given a chance to vote on them they always lose, perhaps because the vast majority of people see some major problem with neoliberals thinking. I am just putting that out there. It must be true. As Democrats we believe in some intrinsic wisdom being present in the people of the world who lack the specialized brainwashing of elites.

Hayek inspired a speech by Churchill in 1945 that clued many Britons into the direction he was going in, and they decided that it was NOT what they wanted at all. Before the war was even totally over they soundly rejected him and his new agenda and picked Labour and its agenda in large numbers at the ballot box, voting in the Labour Party and Clement Atlee. Shorly after that (in 1947) the UK's NHS which is now under attack, thanks to their WTO membership and its rules based system with the coming of the New Year is likely to be - is being subjected to the 1000 cuts of its inflexible neoliberalism, was created. But the Briish ruling class claims they were coerced into doing this in the post world war II era, now. And they fully intend to dismantle it. Churchill was in some ways truly evil. Not my hero in any way. Our Anglophile "leadership" doesn't get it.

By the way, the Nazi CULT admired the British Empire greatly and tried to emulate their quasi mystical bullshit royalist strategy doing their best to imitate them and their cult of entitlement, which was struggling with (the logic of post Enlightenment Europe). As neoliberalism (which in my opinion is fundamentally dishonest) is not what we the people want or need its hidden The rigid mindset was promoted endlessly by advocates of the colonialist resource extraction by colonialism.. people like CecilRhodes and the so called Round Table organization. It still exists. (the creation of Cecil Rhodes, that was explained by Caroll Quigley, political science professor much lauded by Bill Clinton, in a video one can watch on Youtube.) Neoliberalism has a horrible track record, BTW, which they also cant bring themselves to ever be honest about.

After weeks of extensive reading I cant shake a horrible feeling that we in the West did not win World War II, we only postponed it.

Its atrocities were all the work of the worst kinds of psychopaths and sociopaths, and their cults of greed, mysticism and cruelty, in a number of illuminating ways. Well, people are wising up to this. And rejecting it.

We are told that many Americans believe that the nation is actually run by some kind of antidemocracy cult. Our friends try to blow this off as a "conspiracy theory" but the evidence is quite solid easy to find proof of. What the WTO has enabled is for one crooked government to ruin our country's policy futures forever, as has happened with South Africa, to many's distress.

Despite them having voted for a NHI more than a decade ago, because of the expansive commitments they made to services in the WTO in 1994, its roadblock has been successful in completely blocking them. I am particularly distressed how a bad contract the WTO has been used to overrule democracy, leaving voters with no real power to change anything.

This exact thing was its intent, I am sure. To leave the post apartheid government in a trap that would be impossible to extricate themselves, putting them in thrall to the big international firms, with no way out. They had made a deal which was carved in stone.

To allow them to escape would allow any country that had a revolution an easy way out of their trade obligations. They couldn't allow that, could they?

So we did the same thing, we promised away the right to regulate in those areas.

So nomatter how many die it cant be changed without buying our way out. Otherwise everybody would do it. The powers that be say that is what we wanted. And that its final. But its quite clearly not what we wanted, its intent has been always to block what we wanted. And to sell us and our rights downriver in every way. Thats what our country stands for now, the rigid Hayekian neoliberal ideology.

So we should have more compassion for others when the path is so murky and unclear.

The worship of power is a disease. This is why I would never trust these people. All the worst decisions and mistakes in human history have been by people like them. both their works and mistakes of people like them. The vampire myth is based on NPD people, who were commonly members of the ruling classes in rich and powerful European families. Europe, which never really had a middle class llke we did in the early and mid 20th century, after World War 2 destroyed much of the rest of the world. We had always rejected their feudalistic power structure and the UK and Europes bizarre, incestuous, and ridiculous monarchistic systems AND STILL DO. They need to get that. They are like devils. We all revolted against them and it FOR A REASON.

Obsessed with deception. I think its time that all these shadowy organizations be dissolved and democracy be restored. We should require full disclosure of whats going on, and what the motives for things like the Punte Del Este Declaration was, what could possibly be gained by trading away the nations jobs for higher drug prices, for example. to the people who made the poorest nations in the world so poor. As you likely see we are at best run by truly horrible and detestble liars and phonies. We have them to thank for the barrage of hand written signs begging for contributions for sick people that accost us whenever we are in local stores. Go Fund Me is not our national healthcare plan.

A curse on all of them, may they wake up to the ruin they have caused. Someday. They are intentionally depriving millions of poor people of all the gifts of science which are for everybody.

In the years since the last World War, almost In many of the OCED (rich)except the US, health outcomes, lifespans and healthcare has steadily been getting better, much better. Fast, with the result that people live longer, but we're mad with them because we claim that its unfair to US. We claim healthcare prices are high here, BECAUSE ITS THE EUROPAN NATIONS FAULT. For what reason? Well, they have limited prices, we cant get away with charging THEM thousands of dollars a pill like OUR LEGISLATORS allow them to do here.. So we set up the WTO TRIPS agreement which gives them no choice.

I explained how (many) people are living longer now. But not here that does not hold true here. Sometime around 1981 here, progress seems to have stopped. Just stopped. IN fact that was according to plan, as that is (approximately) the year of the first pre-WTO standstill.(source Chakravarthi Raghavan, personal communication). More than a million have died because of that standstill clause. What the fuck are we voting for if not the future that prevents needless deaths?? Not for everything to stay the same and for the global pillage to go on. Forever. No stock dividends are worth 200 lives a day.

Look at the huge mess of lies that has caused our healthcare mess! (if I post URLS, you may not be able to see my post, Ive posted them many times before, read my old posts. Somebody seems to be deleting many at the network level.) but, my point is, As far as I know all that I post is fact. And easy to verify. I post nothing that is not true knowingly, ever.

How do I know that? Its a rule I try to live by, as I have found life is immeasurably easier if I am real to people I interact with.

Although IMHO, somebody would have to be pretty evil to destroy property in the Capitol.

I think our system does itself a disservice to cry wolf. If indeed it is.

I posted the Rome Open City film so people could see what real traitors did in Italy, in the closing months of WWII. After the war a lot of them didn't fare well. But this was because everybody had suffered at their hands, lost family members, been tortured, etc. They needed closure, and justice. Fascism was truly evil in the truest sense of that word. Yes, evil does exist. Millions of innocent people had been tortured and killed. This film was made in the immediate aftermath of the war, the blood of many real martyrs of the conflict had barely dried.

I spent time there (in Italy) not so long after the war as a small child, and I still remember the stories people like our landlady told.

I still understand Italian, kind of. Its amazing how fast children learn languages when immersed in it.

they can. Yes, I said it, I believe they are actually fake moles, who are actually right wingers. They are trying to take the unity from our country that everybody deserves and turn alol against one anhther, then while we are at one anothers throats, they literally steal it. They steal us blind.

Certainly, everybody can see this.

I don't hate Republicans. I do hate what many of them do and in fact I believe they have had a secret alliance with the GOP to secretly use GATS to destroy this country and take away our right togo back to school and get your PhD, be he best in the world at something. They have de regulated and oit locks in, like ratchet or noose thats the word thats used. stealing it all for mega corporations behind our backs.

I have cooperated with Republicans on a very important human rights issue. And I dont think they were fakes, I realized that they just came to it from a different place, but not that different. It was something we all had to agree about, something that bad.

But I do believe there is a false flag attack of sorts going on where leading Dems are trying to alienate the whole country against "progressives" This is why - This is a case of identity theft, people are pretending to be us, to represent us, when they dont. Again this was so very much planned out, and it shows. I wish people would recognize all this. Because its been all so very slick a trick.

so they can steal the country behind our backs, and make a dirty deal so that we cant get it back, because a deals a deal, right. Touch luck kids. Now go play in traffic.

I have to tell right wingers this all the time, when defending my progressivism. And they end up agreeing with me. Or at least admitting that I am real. I have been a real progressive my entire life and do not intend to change now letting real fasicts steal democracy from me and all of us. We're being tricked by slimeballs who fully know what they are doing. They have gotten away with far too much so many times, They are not us. Dont blame us for what these creeps do, they don't represent us. They are bought people.

Guess what real Progressives do want to do? All the things that people agree on, all the things that make sense. But they have been pushed out by the crooks at the top of the Democratic Party who have weaseled their ways into jobs twisting the truth and deliberately dividing the country.

(not the ones who pretend to be "progressive" fully intending to do an intentionally bad job.
to do an intentionally half assed job.)

This is what state capture looks like. Regulatory capture is endemic, its the most deep sated kind of corruption.

Why is this being done? To take our rights by an inside job.

You will be told the reason at 5:55 of the video "GATS what is it", on Youtube. Professor Stumberg, a real expoert tells the California legislature in sworn testimony. So, its not fake news, how could it be. Its as close to fact as things get in this extremely difficult subject maze.

the real progressives (ARE THERE ANTY NOW?) (that arent lying) Am I telling you who they are? No. Maybe there are no hinest ones YET. But when this story is well known there will be. But will they be real? We dont know. But right now if they were rel the DNC would be going berserk trying to snuff them out. Trying every trick in the book.

This is what they have been doing all this work to do for decades, preparing their global grab. (Which has nothing to do with Trump, its all about taking all the property and rights they can as fast as they can, which is prohibited by the Constitution. Theyare knowingly committing a huge crime. are the only real Democrats. How do you tell if they are real? They are telling people about GATS and TISA, even if thats like telling people that most high level Dems are traitors.

WHop are the heroes who are telling us this is being done? Those are the real ones.

Only One Senator ever did. And she is not the one people invariably think would be the one. That person is misleading us. While our young peoples future is being stolen right out from under them..

This is factually showable and its very easy to document. This is what they are trying sooo hard to hide. The history of this theft can be traced back to the 1930s. Why so long? Because they are trying, literally to steal the entire world, thats why.

Watch this webinar video to see how unconstitutional what they are trying to do REALLY is.

So now Ive proved what I am saying to you, hopefully, you see how they misled you. and why.. Dont hide it, it explains whats going on in this country and in this party. And it has nothing to do with idiot Trump. He's just a (paid?) reality TV actor trying to divert the peoples attention in order to hide whats being done, nothing more. They know he's great at making issues that sound identical but which just sound similar, but arent, to give the media an excuse to hide the ugly theft of everybody's futures..

capitalize on the fact that some crooks are doing bad things, so later he can say "I told you so" Thats all he's got, he's willing to tell people something that he knows makes them go nuts, that we're being ripped off in the WTO. Not for the reasons he says, Because services, and the selling out of our young people's and working peoples future jobs. The approximately 60-80 % of jobs that are services. All the things you cant drop on your foot. The desk jobs, by and large. The jobs that NAFTA didnt get. The remaining jobs. The public sector jobs, The jobs that are not corporate executives . Like (Princeton University economist) Alan Blinder says but he left out a large percentage the quasi-public jobs and unionized jobs and things like teaching, nursing and IT. which I think will be heavily impacted. His estimate is 60% but I suspect that is too low. Don't forget this has been being planned since the 80s. So pay off your debts, and dont get mortgages. Dont go into debt. Pay off your debts. You'll lose them, you'll lose everything. To the bankers. When all these once good jobs vanish overseas for good, the economy will implode. Its natural because the marginal cost of labor is higher here than ion the labor exporting countries. Those jobs will never come back. Deal with it. We've lost, we've been conned.. start over, find another career, this is the capitalist system, and they are free to do what they want, our democracy has been taken. Its gone its all run by Geneva now. .the market is everything, buy low sell high. This is what they do.

...Americans are so heavily armed, and why gun ownership is a right rather than a privilege. Back in the old days, there were quite a few countries where gun ownership was a constitutional right. But they are all gone, now. Failed states. Yemen was the last to go.

Clearly, free-wheeling gun ownership is part of Plan A. It is a simple matter for the corrupted media to let the dogs out — so to speak — by triggering brainwashed Americans to kill each other. Just as they did during the Civil War. That will thin the herd and slash the number of sociopaths and dimwitted fools running free.

In my opinion, it's long past time to cash out and leave the US, while one still can.

Really, all you need is a country that is currently pleasant, with a strong sense of community. The south of France sounds nice. Some people like Panama. Many love Switzerland. The last twenty years have been hell in the US. The next twenty years could be far worse. No matter where you go, you can be back in the US in less than a day. If that's what you want.

There are a number of places that will be protected from the immediate effects of climate change. Learn a simple skill and become a digital nomad. There are quite a few expat forums whose participants live all over the world describing their lives and how they did it.

charge US prices, en masse, wouldn't you? Say you were having food riots?

Even having to pay all your essential employees who you brought from home $9/hr (if that was 20 times what such a job paid at home)

Look at it this way, ultimately, there will likely be a customs union of all North American countries, like Europe. A single labor market. What happens then, who moves where? And why? Sure, there arent enough affordable places to live, now for everybody where the jobs are, but they could change that. IF THEY WANTED TO.

Lots of Third World cities have insanely high rents. And there are no public schools, either.

If you want to be a parent, you have to have the money to pay thousands of dollars a year out of pocket for your child's schools, au pairs, bodyguards, babysitters, whatever. Thats where its heading. Lots of people employed as servants, for almost nothing.

And taxes may be lower. Or they may not.
And lots of corruption.

A single labor marketis great for business, becuse people will go where the jobs are, and people who are not employed who are living in places with jobs will have to move. Many wont want to work for such low wages and will have the money saved away, so they will have to spend it, fast. Others will do whatever they can, sell blood, whatever, live in a closet, or a car.

Its like that already in many places. People renting out their garage or tool shed. Or a tent in their back yard with an extension cord. for $1500 a month.

There was somebody who set up a household (illegally) under the front stais in the house I was living in (renting an apartment) In this little area that long ago had been used to keep the buildings garbage cans.

In another building I lived in for a short time, two ladies were living together in a garage they had rented. 24/7. It had no bathroom or anything like that. It had electricity. You could see a light in there. Basically they just slept there, that's what I was told. In the same apartment building, around 17 Latin American (I think Brazil?) restaurant workers were living in a one room studio, right above my wife and I, every night, around 2 am when they all got home, they would watch TV, eat, play soccer, etc, for around an hour, and then go to sleep. During the daytime, all day long, from 8 am to 5 or 6 pm, the owners were renovating the building lots of hammering and dust in the empty apartments. This building was the last place I lived in San Francisco, before we decided to bail. Previously, for many years we rented a nice looking, poisonous (literally) flat that later sold as a condo for $1.5M Our rent was much less than the $2000 a month for the studio we were temporarily renting after we were driven out of the first place by a toxic mold situation so bad that the building department revoked the certificate of occupancy making it illegal for the owner to rent it until they fixed "the problem". So they evicted us. And they never did what we had told was required, Which would have involved emptying the entire building and bringing in special equipment to dry ice blast the structural members of the building and suck the debris up. Then replace all the sheetrock, and floors. They also had several other issues that I suspect never got cleaned up. So the new tenants are likely to have the same health issues. This is what the best experts we could find, anywhere, told us. (The one bright spot in this real nightmare was how nice the scientific community was to us. I learned a great deal from this nightmare. The biggest thing is, people are on their own in this country. Big problems re rarely if ever fixed in any kind of satisfactory ways. Instead the victims are blamed, especially if they let a problem fester and dont complain at the beginning. As the country is doing now with jobs and housing. This is a huge mistake, that will cost our people big. In cities the only way to fix housing is to build lots more housing that people OWN. Which is currently forbidden by the G-thing.

Just like any public healthcare system is unless its pre-existing (already existed in 1995) and also healthcare also would have to be completely noncommercial like Canada, and already there, obviously. It cant be something thats started now and be compliant unless we are willing to pay other countries that claim entitlement to those jobs their lost expected profits which will be very large numbers of jobs or other concessions (like extending drug patents even more) It cant be started if a country already has commercial health insurance for the rich like the UK. (it can stay if they change absolutely nothing but if they touch it it has to be updated to the new code which means privatized. Members of the EU have a vague exclusion for "public utoilities" that are completely noncommercial, so if country that had such in 195 has public hospitals for the destitute and a private system for everybody else that can continue if its not changed at all, but if the system is generous and has a wider scope that scope will have to be reduced until it is demed "minimally trade restrictive" and its likely it will also ge globalized to very cheap Eastern European workforce can be brought in or patients may be outsourced to other countries where the cost is lower, probably in Eastern Europe. This is the main point of all this, lowering the cost of delivering medical care to the Baby Boom generation ofr something to prevent what otherwise would mean rising taxes on the wealthy. Its the same here. The wealthy have talked about what they call the Baby Boom Entitlements Crisis for a long long time. Its a major topic of their cocktail conversations. Like anything having to do with tax evasion its a subject dear to their hearts. And has been since I was a child.

They are remaking the world in the way they want it now, sensing a power shift has occurred du to globalization and the highly mobile nature of employment over borders do to "cross border data flows" . Why hire a worker in the US to take your orders when one in some dollar a day country is cheaper and it arguably "helps the poor" more. That is the "elephant chart" argument and you will se it a lot. Also global warming. Because a large middle class means more CO@ would be used. Imagine if everybody rode bikes, or scooters, maybe buying a $1500 Chinese scooter with half years earnings, and using it to carry their entire family. Low wages will mean much less energy is used by Americans too.

The smaller areas have jobs but many perhaps most of the "desk jobs" answering telephones and executing various busines processes and rules at a computer terminal on an internal web application etc. at businesses are soon likely to go elsewhere, hence the PR campaign lamenting workers quitting and an alleged COVID-19 labor shortage, all hammering in the fact that jobs can be done anywhere now. the subtext is of course, because of the sky-high costs of buying everything here. The desk jobs will likely go to India, the services Mecca - and self-described "Back Office of the World" . (also a country "without a middle class" which is what the labor buyers want. In India, Entire cities function on US time, oriented to providing subcontracting clerical staff to replace entire departments in US and EU companies. They are open at night, with workers doing everything on US time. Factory work has already gone to China. The desk jobs are going overseas soon. Do to trade rules giving their firms equal rights to our own. This is what Princeton's Alan Blinder, is predicting. Blinder was formerly an important labor economist in the Clinton Administration, which is when the huge job shift was put into a treaty. in exchange we have gotten longer terms on patents, and copyrights, and agreements limiting manufacturing of generic drugs to sales in their own countries in many cases. Some drugs like HIV and cancer medications might only costa few cents to make but sell for tens of thousands of dollars to the governments or in some cases individuals who buy them. We see this happening with COIVID-19 vaccines. If a drug saves a person's life it is now proposed by the US - at least supposed to be priced according to new rules that have nothing to do with the cost to make it and everything to do with how much competition it has. Also its based on the severity of the illness if left untreated. Basically, how much is a human life worth. This of course is determined by income and quality adjusted life years. (QALY) Is it worth saving a life?

Of course, it matters a lot of the person is employed, for whom and whether they can replace that person with somebody who works for less.

HWhen Blinder says that we could lose as many as 40 million jobs we should also consider the fact that p[eople without job prospects are viewed as "dead weight" buyy advertisers, city planners, and sometimes, even politicians. (after all, if wealthier people move in to replace them, thir ratables may rise)

Stability is also important. In the past public jobs were considered to be the most stable ones, however more and more public jobs are temporary. New categories of employees such as political operatives or "special government employees" come and go, and outsourcing is on the rise. So Blinder made a huge mistake when in his landmark study which estimated a decade ago that we could lose 26% of our jobs to offshoring, left out the huge quasi-public sector jobs which he did not consider to be offshoring prone. But in the new world order, because those jobs involve tax money, those are the jobs most controlled by government regulation, or rather de-regulation. Now deregulation under the new rule, invariably means subcontracting or privatization. Government jobs usually came with benefits, but the biggest selling point of the subcontracting jobs is the low wages they propose to pay. The pite, "three workers for the price of one" is one that I myself have been the recipient of at employers that I had in the past. Simply because my name and email address was visible, those pitching their services assumed that I had the authority to hire their subcontractors. To cash strained businesses struggling making payroll, it might sound attractive. BUt what if all businesses did this. People would stop buying from them or other businesses. The existnce of a healthy economy in the US, outside of a few places, is mostly dependent on a middle class. Which I define as a class of workers who have discretionary income to spend, more than the simple cost of maintaining their family, rice and beans, etc. The cost of the most basic food here is very little, but the other things, especially housing, healthcare and education are rapidly growing and may soon be totallyout of reach to most people. At that point, they will have to move away, perhaps to the places the subcontractors working here originated, pushing up all costs there. So the money the guest workers send home will be worth much less. Making so little, will they be able to save enough to return "home"? Or retire, ever? They cant organize because they are kept in limbo by an immigration status that depends 100% on their being employed and essential in aforeign corporation entitled to bring in its own essential workers.

If they quit or lose their job they have to leave - or get another job and have that change allowed by the relevntauthorities within a fairly short window of time. The visas they seek are explicitly deemed not immigration visas and if they seek other employment here, they are violation of the terms of the visa and supposed to leave.
Their employers are only allowed to bring them here after they have documented failing to find a qualified American worker, say by holding interviews for the job that their company has here. And not finding somebody who makes sense for their business. (this regulation applies to business who consist of more than 50% guest workers)

This is why they hire some US workers, to meet this quota.

What stable jobs can exist, and still remin? Well, national security or secretive jobs involving security clearances. But they will be on a very short leash because of the difficulty of finding other jobs in an economy dominated totally by foreign labor under guest worker visas in many areas. Why did Blinder leave out the biggest category, the quasi-public sector? teaching, nursing, public works, etc. Which are definitely committed to in our trade commkitments, so are indisputedly on the table?

Maybe he didnt want to alarm people? After all, millions of Americans may go back to school, to get a second or third degree. Also, there is youtube, and ebay and other digital services. Some may start million dollar businesses. I have known several of these people. They literally created entire new kinds of businesses, which were perfect jobs for them, and did well. Of course they are atypical, to put it mildly, but its not impossible. For every 100 jobs lost, some new ones are created especially in the businesses that replace workers the most, displacing still more workers, by making it possible for people to be much more productive with fewer people. In fact, doing exactly that using the web is fun, and usually pays well, because one can do so very many things to save labor and end drudge work that way. Many jobs are trmendously bring. Using free web tools its possible to eliminate them. Why hire these subcontracting companies, when a business owner or small company can do all this themselves?

Creating businesses processes that literally run themselves, That way they can make everything the way they want it, and avoid the clutches of the subcontractors who take advantage of the lack of technical knowledge, successfully convincing dumb politicians that what they do is irreplaceable and requires a lot of expensive skills and training when the fact is, it is easily self taught and the tools that are used to do this are available to everyone and - shhh!
Free.

Free and open source software. Open hardware.. Open government. its free of the chains that bind nations, and its happening on a massive global scale. And its free.

Why man y of the proceses of government are quite amenable to these same kinds of initiatives. And once a process is open, its much less likely to be easy for politicians to corrupt. This is why they hve been trying to sard to gain the upper hand, now. They see their entire way of life, their turf, as being endangered by technologies they dont understand but many many others do and they cant control it as they always were able to before, with costly screens like the out of reach costs of all these things I have described. So they are very rapidly kicking away the ladders to the better jobs and opportunities. Trying to put them behind costly screens or give them away to other rich people elsewhere, others of means, others of their class.

To keep out the hoi palloi? It sure seems as if that is the goal of this trade push, which requires cross recognition of - for example, licenses, degrees and anything thatr is used to determine work qualifications for any reason, all around the world. In order to facilitate the desired lowering of wages everywhere.

The big coastal cities have offshoring resistant highly diverse high skill jobs but due to the great reset, as they call it, they won't always pay enough to both eat and be housed at the same time. They may but generally wages may be pushed way down by this "opening" as they call it of all Member economies. In the US, the laws that have been represented in artificially reducing the numbers of guest workers from their natural levels (which if based only on price would rapidly become astronomical, its postulated) are being challenged as discrimination.

In gfact, most US laws against disrimination itself have been accused formally as being discrimination, if they have the effect of keeping foreign corporations out. Lqws such as minimum wage and worker protection laws that do not exist in the so called work supplying nations, A string subtext is present and being repeated again and again that the laws in the US make its work environment "unsustainable".

Beware of that worrd becaus eit has a vastly different meaning to those in controil than to the controlled.

Sutainable to the lawmakers means deregulated, meaning "whatever employers want to pay" or do is the deregulated state.
Its afcat that many countries lack various laws that have become the norm in the US. These are the laws foreign businesses claim keep them out. Laws such as laws declaring that five day weeks are the norm or that eight hour days are financially preferred are deemed as discriminatory by Indian, in particular temporary staffing firms. Laws requiring so called "living" wages are particularly hated by the neoliberals who always, as a matter of principole claim they impede trade.

Suckh laws are now being demonized as standing in the way of "free trade" in services.
A little understood code word helps signal this global theft to the insiders. That word is sustainable. Its presence for some makes it clear that what currently exists in the rich countries, whatever it is is unsustainable. In their alternate universe almost all laws which improve workers lives are now being deemed unsustainable. The rich are basically saying, globally that its their way or the highway. It matters not one bit what people vote for, its been rigged so that too generous regulatory state, the world that existed in the 20th century, cannot be continued. Due to the WTO a change symnbolized by the WTO's installation in Centre William Reppard, the building formerlyhousing the ILO in Geneva.

It is totally closed to the public, they refuse to do it.

That is similar to what it might have been like if during the last century, governments around the world had made Congress and the Senate's deliberations totally secret, closing them off to all natural persons.

Thats what its like shutting the humn race out of the Congress that matters today. And that was totally their intent. So Wake up people.

We dont matter any more, our votes dont matter. Everything is required to only get better for corporations, in terms of profits and deregulation all deregulation is locked in all around the world. Its just incredible that they have gotten away with this but its true.

. So, dont be surprised if literally millioins of your, your friends and neighbors jobs vanish for good in the next few years. due to the planned increases in guest work. All around the world but especially in the richer countries, like the US and UK, and the EU and Australia.

And probably also South Africa. India will be the main beneficiary of many of these changes at the managerial level. For lower level jobs maybe less so, as wages there have risen recently. The lowest wage countries, many of which are in Africa, will benefit (or maybe lose because the firms that win will be the ones who have slased heir costs the lowest, which may be lass than $2/day - wage levels where cutthroat copmpetition means that contracts are shifted around the world based on a few pennies here or there.

THis is why buildings keep for example, collapsing at Bengladeshi copmpanies. Profits (which are still king in the world of business) are made or broken due to a few pennies here or there. This is why things like safety rules and minimum wages are so contentious.

Its all about yields, the poorest countries are where the largest increases in very low skill jobs, are supposed to go to reward them for their efficiency.

They are where the biggest profits are supposed to be made. Americans are intended toi be punished for wanting such unrealistic working conditions under the circumstances.

It seems like its all being coordinated at the top. Covid 19 is supposed to trigger a global recalibration that lowers wages for all.

The US made a large number ofWTO commitments which few other countries dove into, in what are often called "sensitive areas" Health care and higher/adult education are two. for example,

They illustrate the areas where government involvement is supposed to be greatly limited or prohibited, forever, unless we buy our way out in a way that designed to become prohibitively expensive with time. Locking us into a trap of our own making.

Politicians cant chage it. So what that means is the Executive and Legislative branches are supposed to be discimplied, limiting "domestic regulation" of all branches nof and "mesures" by government to the absolute most minimal possible to acheive goals.. That most minimal possible is literal. it does not mean they have wiggle room, otherwise the voters would just vote our way out of the trap, making it useless and the whole WTO meaningless.

Whats been planned? Our workers replacement?

Well, its uposed to be the repayment of a debt that we have incurred by benefiting so much from what they did, which is extend patents, and a umber of similar changes in the IP area, also they are supposed to let our banks and loan granting entities expand tremendouslky and of course foreclose on those who default on their loans. This is likely to mean huge windfalls for banks bost domestic anf foreign. ind of like 2008 for some mortgage lenders, perhaps. Nobody knows. Businesses will mkake a killing, you cvan bet on that. This is both the oligarchs and the banks "pay back" for the losses they have endured from every imaginary injury they have stoically endured for so long, or that how they frame it.

A huge boom is supposed to occur in employees working on L1 L2 (intra corporate transfer) and H1B (former and current students) visas.. (also higher pay than the others, and H1Bs are more likely to actually possess the claimed skills, although fake diplomas are very very common in some parts of the world. )

Certainly they are banking on big changes occurring or they would not have gone to all this trouble for so long.

The owners of the world are definitely on the offensive, and they are quite vocal about what they want and intend to get. And the cost of living, rent, healthcare is astronomical here in the US and there is no doubt on that so, now we will pay for being so lackadisical and ignorant of what been happening to the people in the rest of the world, the shoe will be on the other footso tospeak. We'll have to allow what we did to others to be done to us.

The war against people, especially conmstnt wars and the concommittant defunding of public education and banning of new public health care has been a huge mistake.,making it very difficult for us to bounce back. Educations historic role asa ladder into the middle and upper class has become unreachable for so many Americans. due to the lack of it being a priority. Bidens noffering bto forgiuve a tiny amount of the loans is likely to be problematic as it still leaves people without the jobs they hoped to be able to get with new skills and d egree. Thanks to the trade deals, nomatter what they do will leave us still losing the race into the future. by serving as a costly screen to keep our own young people out, which many consider good because of their allegedly "unrealistic expectations". How will homeles families save money for college which still cannot ever become free, because now that is framed as a theft from global educational corporations of profits they are now entitled to.

Many have won degrees despite the huge challenges, but they are in areas that might be in demand in a better world that does not and will not exist. But unfortunately are not, here now.
These graduates may have worked hard at whatever they did but they dont understand math, which is required to understand a lot of the technology thats used to make moneytoday. As a bridge to these jobs, mathematics is the best start. Math literacy will carry a student long way. The humanities wont give them the numeracy they need to understand how many new technologies work, although it will help them with the organizational and logistical part of the scientific process.
will have to accept worse, particularly lower wages due to the planned changes. Wages are determined by supply and demand. If supply is high, and demand low, they plummet. Also jobs in the US are in such demand people pay to be placed here. As much as $30,000. Soon to be married young men claim they will "make all that money back on the dowry", if they have a good US job. Watch this video (below) which is about housing costs, the large numbers of empty "ghost houses" kept unrented as investments by overseas owners. Who consider US real estate to be one of the safest investments. Especially in high rise buildings where there is no changce of any of the things that might destroy or diminish the value of other real estate investments elsewhere. This is why so many are being built. GATS has created a flow of money from the poor to the wealthy globally and there are a limited number of places to put that "global pool of money" This benefits US financial services , as long as the US is seen as a haven that sees everything their way by the ultra-rich The country least likely to tax them to reduce the burdens caused by the vanishing jobs and rising demands for social services. Additionally many US stetes, like Delaware, offer secrecy making it very difficult for their home governments to figure out their incomes - needed to tax them. Nicholas Shaxson, who is a british author whose background includes extensive experience in the UK offshore banking sector.. (also called the spiders web) His book "Treasure Islands" is a much needed backgrounder on the huge offshore wealth sector that is rabidly changing the world of finance. The US's various tax shelter states and laws, add up to our rapidly becoming one of the worlds biggest, and fastest growing secrecy jurisdictions. The more corruption, the more money is being driven to investments here, like in housing "the more expensive the better" buyers have been known to say. (The more fungible an investment is, the better because the oligarchs around the world don't trust their money in their own banks).

Why are we sending our children's jobs to India, by the millions, to support The RSS and BJP's terrorism and fascism?

When people voted for Biden, they did not vote for that, nomatter what Macron and the EU administrative state says

Giving all those essential workers jobs to foreign staffing firms is an act of insanity. We should not be propping Modi and his patronage system up.

Thats what people say. Its the neoliberal ideal a tax haven where the rich rule in every way. Many, perhaps Most of the former British colonies are places set up like like that.

Seems the DNC treated Trump similarly to how they treated Bernie Sanders (whose "platform" although it made sense was basically ALL things that were forbidden by GATS so none of it could have been implemented they had all been taken off the table in 1994) Many Democrats were falsely convinced that "his ideas" had all been soundly defeated when instead, the CHILLING EFFECT had taken them all off the table decades ago and some of the Congress and Senate knew that had anything like them passed the US would be sued in an international forum for breaking its WTO-GATS treaty obligations and would have to pay a kings ransom in compensation to foreign corporations. Sepecially in huge and costly areas like financial services, the cost of going through the required GATS Article XXI procedure would likely be huge since we had been holding out the financial services sector as bait to get poor cpountries to swallow the WTO which they often claim they get nothing from us otherwise.

Neoliberal totalitarian ideal is tolerable when its actually barbaric.

The Joe Rogan interview with the name Disneyland with the Death Penalty seems pretty good.

So that means they ALWAYS attempt to be (just) 1% better than the Repugnicans. But absolutely no more. Ever.
