Friday Night Photos Damsels And Dragons Edition

Happy Friday everyone. Welcome to Friday Night Photos your once a week escape from the day to day insanity of the world we live in. Post any photos, memes, music or whatever else you find of interest that helps tune out the madness.

After a week of temps in the mid to upper 90s, things are supposed to start cooling off over the next few days. By this time next week it should be in the low 80s. That will be a nice relief.
Summertime and warm weather means Damselflies and Dragonflies, so Wednesday I stopped by Santee Lakes to see what I could find.

Wow that is quite the variety of dragon flies.

Did it take long to accumulate those images or are they that abundant?

I was there for an hour and shot 83 frames. I would have stayed longer but it was getting hot and I was getting hungry. The damselflies and dragonflies are in abundance but they tend to be camera shy and don't come close enough or sit still long enough to get good shots of them.

will eat 100 mosquitos per day.
And they go on to say it is impossible
for them to fly (aerodynamically) so
apparently they have developed
anti-grav skills. Must be tough on a belly full of
mosquitos?

If the eat 100 mosquitos a day, they must have missed a few because I got a half dozen bites while I was there. At least I didn't get malaria, dengue fever, or west nile virus.

I've been slowly healing from a vertebra fracture these past few weeks, but I'm on my way to full recovery. I've had little motivation to photograph recently, but I couldn't resist the beautiful light and patters on my hydration therapy.

Sorry to hear you were having problems with your back. Glad to hear you're on the mend. I'm currently dealing with a pinched nerve in my neck. I get a burning pain in my left shoulder and arm. Not fun. I saw the spin specialist on Wednesday. He wants me to get an MRI so he can determine a course of action. The soonest I can get that will be 3 weeks. In the mean time I soldier on.

My pain is from neves compressed between two vertebra, at the lower end of the spine. My hot water bottle is as effective as the pain medication I was given. Maybe give that a try on your neck and shoulder area?

with those cameras. When bugs look good, there are definitely artists in the house. Didn't this diary focus on spiders one weekend? I'm asking cos they are the one lifeform that has always freaked me out. Your flies are beautiful. I'm sorry to hear that you and jb (her image is exquisite as usual) are having vertebrae/spine troubles. You both get well!!! I'm very fortunate. I only have problems in my left hip. It's due to dysplasia which I was born with. I have an effective ortho pain regime involving specific exercises for it. I do not have any joint/back/neck issues. Well, it must be Irish luck cos I'm tall (3rd generation on my Dad's side). Our luck is holding so far in the hurricane area, too. Hope it keeps up as we still have 2 more months. Our crooked, stupid Tallahassee idiots have done it yet again. Now, parents are not required to get their kids vaccinated before school starts. It's really a sick joke. The religious nuts could already get exemptions for their kids. The maggot brained governor thinks he's going to outdo King Maggot Brained aka POTUS. I've said it before: If I didn't have family here, I would be long gone. Anywho, hope all is well with you all. Rec'd!!

In the past I have posted photos of spiders along with other bugs but I haven't devoted a FNP to just spiders. It is possible that when Janis was hosting FNP I might have posted a few spider photos by them selves. Hope your luck holds out for the rest of hurricane season.
