Even Think Progress is in on the act
What do I mean by this?
https://thinkprogress.org/al-gore-dont-vote-third-party-15711ce062e7#.s9...
Read the article, but basically, they use words from Al Gore, who as a party elite is used to scare people to vote for Hillary as bad as she is, ignoring how pro-corporate she is, and that Gore is not a true climate activists with his mine companies and other pollution corporations with his name attached.
First of all I understand their feelings and misgivings. But if they are interested in my personal advice. I am voting for Hillary Clinton. I urge everyone else to do the same.
Basically he feels he is still relevant today as he used to be then, and that he acts as if he understands that people are pissed, disappointed and angry at the DNC since they stole a primary election for the coronation prospects of Her Heinous. Of course he, a party apparatchik will vote for her.
I particularly urge anyone who is concerned about the climate crisis, sees it as the kind of priority that I see it as, to look at the sharp contrast between the solar plan that Secretary Clinton has put forward, and her stated commitment to support the Clean Power Plan, and the contrast between what she has said and is proposing with the statements of the Republican nominee, which give me great concern.
Yeah right! like she won't turn back to her pals at Fossil Fuels Inc and trash alternative funding as she is so Pro-Corporate and he thinks he can fool folks into voting for the knowledgeable evil named Hellery. And that to woo the Republicans, she is likely to do so, and more swiftly than Obama the other corporate puppet has done to us.
Then, the author like many of the MSM have done is to ignore the WAPO article that said Nader had nothing to do with Gore's Florida defeat, but still he trots out:
Readers may recall that in the 2000 election, Democrat Al Gore actually won the popular vote but narrowly lost the Electoral College to a guy named George W. Bush in part because of votes lost to third-party candidates — intentional votes for Green party candidate Ralph Nader (and, tragically, unintentional votes for Reform Party candidate Pat Buchanan).
Author totally ignores that 300,000 Democrats were so inspired by Al that they voted for Bush directly! that Nader had actually taken votes away from Bush as WaPo stated, and the fact that Republican Florida SoS also colluded for Bush.
Certainly, given the closeness of the election, many other factors influenced its outcome, including the untimely intervention of the Supreme Court to stop the vote recounting in Florida. But a 2006 “ballot-level” analysis concluded votes for Nader in Florida “did indeed spoil the 2000 presidential election for Gore.” For more, see this recent analysis and this mea culpa from a Nader voter
WaPo exonerated Nader at a much later date, so use a 10yr old analysis which was still too close to 2000 and the Dems still sought a scape goat (which will always be 3rd parties as far as they are concerned why they lose), the Dem Party in my mind cannot see that they are the ones responsible for their own loses and lack luster enthusiasm for their candidates.
Hmmmm, Hillary was having trouble in polls, and seen as most untrustworthy, Bernie fired up folks, got the enthusiasm sparked, and even polled strongly,,,who did they pick? Yep, Hellery was picked before the Primaries started, the game was rigged from the start, but it is looking like the Dems are worried, they pushed the candidate that had the people going ho-hum, and stealing and rigging an election is supposed to make people desire to vote for your criminal organization? Puhlease!
And some one they pulled to say they are sorry they voted 3rd party is another touch to push some away from a 3rd party just so they can keep us enthralled to the duopoly of the corporate parties.
“Clinton’s margin over Trump among this age group is lower than we’d expect given how Obama did in the last two election cycles,” explains Enten. A key reason is the “unusually high share of under-30 voters saying they’ll vote third party.”
Of course nothing ab out that fact that the DNC and DWS helped do everything that was not legal this primary and people are holding the party to that, the DNC is going to pay dearly for the illegal primary crap they pulled and they deserve it, I for one would love to see a 3rd party crack that fence around the Beltway and shock the shit out of the Establishment.
The bottom line: As Gore told me, he understands the “feelings and misgivings” of anyone considering voting for a third-party candidate this time around. He just considers it a mistake — especially if you care about the climate crisis.
If folks care, we need to galvanize the voters again and get Jill elected as she actually cares about the environment, Hillary is in bed with Fracking and other Fossil Fuel FatCats, Trump and Hellery are no good for the Environment! also, a vote for Hillary is bad for the environment as she foments regime change and more wars, wars which impact the environment in a negative way. I am not falling for the MSM tactics of playing on our fears, I am sad to see that even Think Progress is getting in on the MNSM Fear-train for the Dems. They should be getting called Think Regress.
No Thanks Al, my conscience will be clear as I send my ballot Jill not Hill 2016, fuck Hillary and the horse she rode in on!

see, I'm loyal until I'm crossed and/or lied to
if someone is going to treat me like I'm stupid then they don't deserve to get my vote. I'm sure "they" are well aware of the 300,000 Florida Dems who voted for Bush, the Dems who get a free pass. You'd think they'd value those Bush voting Dems since there are so many of them and try to get them to vote for Hills, rather than go after the smallish number who will vote for Jill.
I wonder if it's just some nasty malevolent streak of theirs.
Yeah, makes me think they
Yeah, makes me think they love avoiding the bitter truth, Gore did not inspire as much as he needed to in Florida, on top of the WaPo finding that Nader bled votes from Bush-baby, not Gore, but they still have to use Nader as a scape-goat for their inadequacies. they let the 300k who went to Bush from Gore off the hook, what's with that?
So long, and thanks for all the fish
So what grade does Gore give Barack Obama re climate change? n/t
I wonder too. Gore being part
I wonder too. Gore being part of the party elite, I wonder if this is a way for him to land a position on Her cabinet if she wins as climate advisor? or Environment Czar?

Think Propaganda has been part of the Dem Spin machine
for years. I don't read them anymore. So no surprise.

so yeah, ^that. exactly. tp was the first place i started seeing really hateful clinton shills descend on bernie supporters, months before it happened anywhere else. not much of a surprise, considering they work hand in hand with the democratic party and the clinton campaign in particular.
prop-uh-gander.
another sad tale is crooks & liars, they have a known shill on their writing staff to run damage control on anything clinton, and the rest of the staff has stopped writing about anything but trump. that's not hyperbole. no downballot races, no coverage of clinton other than EMAILS WHAT EMAILS from shelly p (who's been in the bag for clinton according to her own freaking blog since last year[..?]), just trump this after trump that after trump trump trump. did i mention trump?

np! =)
it's frightening how quickly basically all of my own outlets of political frustration turned on progressives. i'm glad c99 is here, for sure, but i'm disheartened enough that i rarely hop online looking for any political discussion anymore. it's made me sick.

Crooks and liars
That site was a joke after it allowed editor Susie Madrak to openly troll, insult and incite Sanders supporters, and then have her girlfriends ban the Sanders supporters for daring to respond in kind.
I see they also changed the rules on that site to make sure that the fact-free Clinton supporters never have to endure a real challenge to their empty arguments.
I was (under a different name) one of the very first to flee that site, before the semi-official 'purge' took place.
John Amato is a coward for what he let happen on and to his site.
Thanks all for that info, I
Thanks all for that info, I will pass it along to my roomies as we get their propaganda emailed to us, good to know why they are so anti-3rd party/pro Clinker.
So long, and thanks for all the fish
I think its time we have a list of websites that are shills
I am going to make a new essay where we can all see which websites are shills, and why they are shills. Then do not give them the traffic that they do not deserve.
Capital idea! list of shill
Capital idea! list of shill sites would help so much, and may make for sad realization how much our media is under corporate rule.
So long, and thanks for all the fish
i don't believe,
by the way, that c&l has gone full shill. i think john amato is probably trying to retain party relevance but i don't think they've been bought off by the clinton campaign like king orangewater or think progress. it's frustrating that they've got an obvious shill, but obvious shill is obvious, and i doubt she's going to be around long after the coronation (should it occur). it's not like orangewater where half the frontpagers started showing up to troll sanders pieces like 12 year olds.
that being said, they're certainly not reporting on clinton, clinton's policies, the clinton foundation & pay to play & the current lawsuits, sanders, the campaign bullshit, the voting irregularities, the dnc money laundering, etc etc etc. what they report about trump is boilerplate left-wing outrage which i actually can buy into in a lot of instances... what's disturbing is the vacuum where left-leaning news should be, as opposed to anti-conservative pieces.

This might help as a start...
I got this spreadsheet link from WA state Bernie groups of which I am a member. Some of the groups are still very active and have moved (even renamed) to more general Progressive politics. Still get a ton of Shillary trolling. The spreadsheet is a start:

A vote for Hillary won't do anything about climate change
What nonsense to think Hillary is ready to do something about climate change. She won't even propose a ban on fossil fuel leasing on our public lands that we own!
This is the PERFECT election to vote Green Party. #JillNotHill

The Nader flogging is definitely past its 'sell by date'.

Just finished reading
a Counter Punch article about 3rd party's and the Democratic establishment. It fits right in with this essay.
http://www.counterpunch.org/2016/08/23/will-progressive-democrats-ever-s...
Will Progressive Democrat's Ever Support a Third Party Candidate?
The article then covers the 2000 election through this 2016 electoral farce. The Greens and the Nader spoiler myth are alive and well.
Yep, and they still flog him
Yep, and they still flog him for the 2000 election, and it is 2016.
I do however like the conclusion of the CP article.
