Hope all is well in NZ and Germany!
“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
I first heard
L. Cohen songs in the late "60's but I heard the versions sung by Judy Collins, Joan Baez, Tom Paxton, etc. I didn't know they were Cohen's songs until college... my roommate had Cohen's records.
I finally saw Cohen in concert in Austin. It was one of his concerts towards the end of his life and it was phenomenal. I loved Cohen when I was young but his work in late life is my favorite now. [video:[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zjLBWnZGTU]]

Always liked this one
They say that there's a broken light for every heart on Broadway
They say that life's a game and then they take the board away
They give you masks and costumes and an outline of the story
And leave you all to improvise their vicious cabaret-- A. Moore
An interesting version of Chelsea Hotel
be well and have a good one
That, in its essence, is fascism--ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. -- Franklin D. Roosevelt --
Thank you everyone for your musical additions and memories.
I also enjoyed the very different covers.
I guess it’s obvious that I love Leonard Cohen. I have never seen him live, not even when he was here in Auckland which was his last concert. But when I watch his Live in London, 2008 concert, I feel like I’m pretty close. He always seems to bring so much depth of feeling and inspiration, and invitation to join in a place of intimacy.
Have a good evening all.
One more ...
