“My vote will be no and I urge my colleagues to do the same,” Sen. Chuck Schumer said in a floor speech today. And with that, Democrats have officially decided to give their base the fight it wants, a filibuster of Judge Gorsuch.
“Judge Gorsuch was unable to convince me that he’d be an independent check on a president who has shown almost no restraint from executive overreach,” Schumer said. He added that Gorsuch appeared to have a “deep-seated conservative ideology.”

Many of us left (got my DNC questionnaire in the mail)---what snarky responses other than shims have been sent back by no-longer Dems? the 60 votes instead of waiting for the GOP to do it, just think at what might have been accomplished in the last 8 fucking years. Manchin, of course, is not on board. Not only do they need a 2 x 4 for the GOP, they need one for party traitors. Let Manchin be a republican if that is what he has to do to win in WVA. The tent needs fewer conservatives, centrist, corporatists, and defecting Republicans and more socialists and FDR Democrats.
