Have had a lot of things going on in the last few days, so have not had a chance to keep up with what is going on here at C99.
So I'll start with JtC and his battle with health issues. I want to add my best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery. We are all pulling for you, Johnny.
Some folks write you emails pretending to be President Trump.
I won’t do that to you.
Some folks pretend donations will somehow fund DOGE’s work.
I prefer to be honest with you.

I had lost all faith in the medical establishment the last few years, which created a conundrum with my diagnosis of rectal cancer. Do I put myself in the hands of those that I no longer trust? Or do I opt for alternative treatments?
I opted for conventional chemo and radiation therapy. To me that gave me the best odds of recovery.
I had several friends and relatives recoil when I told them I was going the way of conventional treatment.
"You know that you're being poisoned, right", said my brother.
"Are you letting them poison you?", said a good friend as he turned his head in revulsion.
I responded: "Before my diagnoses I would have said the same, but reality hits home when it happens to you personally".
December marks the start of meteorological winter, and so far that's been accurate. We had several days this week that didn't get out of the 30's. Here in NE Alabama we don't have severe winters typically. Last year we did have a week of teens and single digits. At least that helps control the insect population, but given the rate of insect extinction that may not be such a good thing. Today marks the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. My mother was there as a child. Only in the last decade or so have I come to understand that the Japanese attack was provoked. Plus a few news stories and more below the fold.
Germany goes down the tubes as militarism is revived. The author in the video below discusses how militarism is used as a means to attack the welfare state.

Another week of fun and excitement awaits! Starting out, we've got some of Sonny Boy (Rice Miller) Williamson's early Bluebird Records recordings, followed by a great album compilation of J.B. Lenoir's european recordings. After that, it's time for some zydeco-blues from Clifton Chenier followed by something completely different - some british blues-rock with Chicken Shack, a group with a great mostly unknown guitarist, Stan Webb, and piano and vocals from Christine Perfect (later Christine McVie). Finishing up there's a late 50's jazz album from Horace Silver to check out.

Well, it doesn't seem various and sundry countries are willing to send soldiers to peace keep (puke) some corridor in Gaza for the Greatest Peace Deal Ever(puke) done by Trump.
I am both shocked AND dismayed!
We used to know peace when we saw it, and understand cease fire put your firearms down.
My parents lived through all the hard times and good times from 1920 until the 2010s. They loved Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Hank Williams, Roy Orbison, just to name a very few, and they loved George for this song:

The nice weather is why so many birds spend their winter here.
