We Need a New Business Model

Open Thread Image.jpg

The US war economy is driven by the MIC (AIPAC, oil, pharma, big AG, etc.) lobby. The ownership is on display. Last Saturday our purchased representatives financed more genocide, destruction, and global chaos, along with the suppression of free speech banning TikTok, plus the theft of Russian assets (bound to undermine the USD)...and this is our business model. What a failed system! The "deep state" mafia carrot and stick persuaded Johnson (and Trump) to flip on their stated priorities...they obviously caved.

Blinken threatens China over Russia ties

Washington is ready to introduce more sanctions against China over its alleged transfer of dual-use goods and components, which it claims can be used by the Russia...
Earlier this week, the Wall Street Journal also reported that the US was drafting sanctions that could cut off some Chinese banks from the global financial system unless Beijing severs its economic ties with Russia.
...Xi suggested that the US and China “should be partners, not rivals” and should strive towards achieving “mutual success and not harm each other.”
“I proposed three major principles: mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation. They are not only a summary of past experience, but also a guide to the future,” the Chinese leader was quoted as saying. Beijing has maintained a policy of neutrality on the Ukraine conflict, with Chinese officials repeatedly stating that the country is not selling weapons to either Russia or Ukraine

While we're on the topic of Israel, People are Outraged by Israel's War on Gaza - Israel is Losing | Michael Hudson (41 min)

Many college campuses are protesting US support for Israel. Many students are being manhandled and arrested for peacefully protesting. Dissent will not be allowed, and the false narrative that Zionism is Judaism continues to be propagated.

Jill Stein speaks out against assault on pro-Palestine student protesters (8 min)
US presidential candidate Jill Stein said students are being “brutalised” at pro-Palestine protests in universities across the country by American police officers who are trained in crowd control techniques by the Israeli military, in an act she says is an “assault on democracy”.
Speaking outside Columbia University, she praised students for protesting and “standing up” for all Americans and their right to free speech. She said students are defending “our right to protest this genocide that is being committed in our name”.
Stein criticized Israel’s war on Gaza and the US’ unconditional military funding to Israel. “We must support the right of the Palestinian people to freedom, justice and dignity,” she said, reiterating the findings of the International Court of Justice that there is a plausible case for genocide in Gaza.

University students across the country, facing mass arrests, suspensions, evictions and explusions are our last, best hope to halt the genocide in Gaza. Chris Hedges

Not one university president has denounced Israel’s destruction of every university in Gaza. Not one university president has called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire. Not one university president has used the words “apartheid” or “genocide.” Not one university president has called for sanctions and divestment from Israel.
Instead, heads of these academic institutions grovel supinely before wealthy donors, corporations — including weapons manufacturers — and rabid right-wing politicians. They reframe the debate around harm to Jews rather than the daily slaughter of Palestinians, including thousands of children. They have allowed the abusers — the Zionist state and its supporters — to paint themselves as victims. This false narrative, which focuses on anti-Semitism, allows the centers of power, including the media, to block out the real issue — genocide.

It always gets back to "follow the money".

Empire managers and propagandists are losing their minds about student protests against the genocide in Gaza on university campuses, so naturally we’re seeing a mad push to frame this as the result of interference by Russia, China, Iran and Hamas. These demented conspiracies of foreign influence come even as Israel’s prime minister openly calls for the US government to quash the university protests by any means necessary.

What's the Solution to the Israel-Palestine Issue? w/ Abby Martin (25 min)

As protests in support of Palestine grow across American campuses, people unite in demanding an end to this US empire-backed genocide against Palestine. The cry for the liberation of the Palestinian people grows louder. Is ceasefire the ultimate goal? How much longer will politicians sheltering Israel persist? In this episode of Overlap, Zephyr, a political commentator from China, and Abby Martin, an American journalist, activist, and director of Empire Files, engage in a heartfelt discussion.

What About Ukraine and the proxy war with Russia?
Looks like the foam core is breaking...

FoamCore.jpg

The ink has yet to dry on the signed Ukrainian aid, but it has finally passed both House, Senate, and the final Biden rubberstamp. As predicted here, the list of new items is “long” but mostly constitutes the secondary munitions types which aren’t as easily expendable and therefore still exist in some quantity. The primary ones, i.e. artillery shells and such, are still heavily backlogged. ...
just days ago Ukraine’s head of the aerial reconnaissance support center, Maria Berlinskaya, stated that “most Western systems have proven to be [worthless]” because Russian EW neutralizes them all.

Much more at the link above.

Some "demonkrazy" we're supporting...
The slave trade in Ukraine has become one of the most serious problems of our time. Since the 2014 coup d’état, Kiev has been a key player in modern slavery, particularly for human trafficking and sexual exploitation networks. The political and social instability that has affected the country since the Western-led regime change operation is one of the main factors for the growth of such human rights violations.

Two years ago the US and it's lackey the UK scuttled a peace deal that would have saved hundreds of thousands of lives.
Details emerge of failed Russia-Ukraine peace treaty

Russia and Ukraine were close to reaching a peace deal in the spring of 2022, under which Kiev was ready to commit to neutrality...
Ukraine would have committed to “permanent neutrality,” would have agreed not to allow foreign weapons and troops into the country, and would have pledged not to “receive, produce or acquire” nuclear weapons. Kiev would also reportedly have guaranteed not to hold military drills with other countries.
In return, Russia would have pledged not to attack Ukraine again, while agreeing that Kiev could receive security guarantees from the US, UK, France, and China. If Ukraine came under attack, its guarantors would support its right to self-defense within three days, with the relevant agreements being ratified by each participating state, making them legally binding.

NATOstan simply couldn't (and still can't) let go of the grift.

Ukraine receives emergency aid for most of the day from EU power systems for 4th day in a row

The subjugation of the EU was always part of the purpose of the Ukraine proxy war. At least that goal of the mission appears to be successful.

There was no compelling national security interest to justify the destruction of the Nord Stream pipeline, which has inflicted significant economic pain on the people of Germany.
This attack accomplished nothing in terms of helping bring an end to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and Ukraine's NATO facilitators. It made matters worse.

Perhaps if the Ukies are so short on soldiers

saw this one coming

Northeastern University had around 100 peaceful protesters arrested on Saturday at its Boston campus’ pro-Palestine encampment, claiming that there had been reports of protesters using antisemitic slurs; but according to witnesses, the protester who spewed hate speech was a pro-Israel counter protester.

On Saturday morning, Northeastern Vice President for Communications Renata Nyul released a statement, announcing that the protest on Centennial Common would be cleared by campus police and local law enforcement. In the statement, she explained that the reason they were clearing the encampment was because of the presence of hate speech at the site.

“What began as a student demonstration two days ago, was infiltrated by professional organizers with no affiliation to Northeastern. Last night, the use of virulent antisemitic slurs, including ‘Kill the Jews,’ crossed the line,” she said. “We cannot tolerate this kind of hate on our campus."

(Reuters) - Nord Stream's insurers have denied that their policies provide cover for gas pipelines damaged by blasts in 2022 because the damage was caused by war, in their written defence to a lawsuit filed at London's High Court.

Nord Stream is seeking more than 400 million euros ($427 million) from its insurers over the explosions which ruptured pipelines designed to transport Russian gas to Germany.

So it was destroyed by war, yet no investigation has determined who did it.

Per: http://www.oldiesmusic.com/news.htm

Ronnie Gilbert, contralto singer with the influential Weavers folk quartet, died of natural causes Saturday (June 6th, 2015) at a retirement home in Mill Valley, California. She was 88.

The group-- including Pete Seeger, Lee Hays (who had performed together earlier in the Almanac Singers) and Fred Hellerman-- formed in 1948 in Greenwich Village, New York where they appeared at the Village Vanguard club. Their name came from an 1892 play about the uprising by Eastern European weavers nearly 50 years earlier. They were quickly signed to Decca Records where they succeeded with traditional American folk tunes like "Goodnight Irene" (#1-1950), "So Long It's Been Good To Know You" (#4-1951) and "On Top Of Old Smoky" (#2-1951)-- the latter with Terry Gilkyson.

When Pete and Lee were identified as members of the Communist Party and called to testify before the House Committee on Unamerican Activities in 1955 (Lee pleaded the Fifth Amendment, Pete refused to answer on First Amendment grounds though he had left the party in 1949 and was indicted for contempt of Congress), the group's success was over. Decca had already dropped their contract in 1952, they were blacklisted from radio and television and the group eventually split up.

Ronnie went on to tour solo but with little commercial success. However, the Weavers' influence in the folk boom of the late '50s and early '60s on such groups as the Kingston Trio; Peter, Paul and Mary and Bob Dylan was undeniable. The group reunited in 1980 for a documentary film, "The Weavers: Wasn't That A Time," which was released two years later. They were given a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammys in 2006 and inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001...

The Vast Pharmaceutical Conspiracy to Silence Online Dissent

Story at a Glance:
•There has been a coordinated campaign to attack and defame anyone who has spoken out against the COVID-19 response. This has primarily been restricted to social media (e.g., getting people deplatformed) but it has also been weaponized in real life (e.g., getting medical licenses revoked).

•This coordinated campaign was the result of a “non-profit” known as The Public Good Project (PGP), which was actually directly linked to the pharmaceutical industry. The PGP used the industry funding it received to defend industry interests.

•Vaccine safety advocates were able to get into the group where these campaigns were coordinated. There, they discovered numerous public figures working hand in hand with healthcare workers to descend like a hive of bees on anyone “promoting misinformation.” Likewise, we learned that the most belligerent doctors we keep encountering on Twitter belonged to these groups.

•Some of the influencers advancing PGP’s message through “Shots Heard” (and its sister United Nations initiative “Team Halo”) were hucksters who faked their own credentials. My overall impression from looking at everything was that this group operated in a very similar manner to many of the sleazy internet marketing operations I’ve seen in the past. Fortunately, the public appears to be seeing through what they did.

This had the authorization of the federal health agencies and probably by the White House too. Biden pressured social media companies to censor everyone who went against the government propaganda. 2 courts have ruled against Biden’s massive censorship, but last look at the Supreme’s questions they might let him continue doing it. If not then how long until congress authorizes presidents to do it?

FYI…Biden is thinking of declaring a climate emergency which will give him unconstitutional power to do whatever the hell he wants and every president after him.

The founders created the Constitution to hold the government in check….the government has nullified most of it. This is what people should have long ago protested. Instead people yawned when the TSA got cart blanch to do unauthorized search and seizure without a warrant. No wonder government keeps taking away our rights. No one seems to care when they do it.

4. Equivocate melanomas (which are rare, dangerous, and caused by a lack of sun exposure) to basal cell carcinomas (which are common, never fatal, and caused by sunlight) since both are “skin cancers” so people can be corralled into regular skin examinations where those skin cancers are identified and quickly surgically removed.

Unfortunately he paywalled the ending and comments. I gave him hell for doing it because I had questions and I like reading the comments. But he gives enough information for you to get gist.

I’m pretty sure I had a basal cell removed and boy did I have a gnarly incision from a. 6 inches long, but fortunately it healed really well. No keloid scar either.
