Pathetic. "Moderate" Dems Beg Trump to Play Nice so They Can Compromise

Has any political party been more worthy of scorn than the Democrats. The Remora fish to Wall street sharks have outdone themselves with this absurd and farcical letter to Trump begging him to play nicer with them before his first address to Congress. Here's what the "representatives of the people" (well corporate lobbyists are people after all) had to say to Trump:

Dear President Trump:

As you prepare for your address to the Joint Session of Congress, we strongly urge you to stop advancing divisive policies and inflammatory rhetoric and instead focus on policies that will grow the economy, create more opportunity for all, and make government work better.

Last November, Americans across the political spectrum elected leaders to work together to strengthen our economy and increase opportunity for all. Upon your inauguration, despite being in opposition, we were hopeful that you would govern like the "dealmaker" you so adamantly claimed to be, seeking areas of consensus and compromise. Regrettably, since your inauguration, we have heard no specific proposals from you on improving our infrastructure, reforming our tax code, or bettering the Affordable Care Act, all things that you promised before and after the election.

As leaders of the 54 member New Democrat Coalition, a group with a track record of seeking bipartisan cooperation, we implore you to begin focusing on these issues. New Democrats want to work on a bipartisan proposal that would significantly increase investment in and modernize our infrastructure system. We also stand ready to work together to modernize our tax code, improve the Affordable Care Act, and pass comprehensive immigration reform. Unfortunately, the acrimonious approach you have taken to date is decreasing the opportunity for progress on these issues. If you adopt a more focused and conciliatory approach to policymaking, we all can get to work on the job the American people sent us to Washington to do.

Sincerely,

The New Democrat Coalition Team

And who are the New Democrat Coalition? The Obama/Clintion Corporate wing of the Democratic party, that's who. Here's their mealy-mouthed agenda. Not one progressive agenda item in it. And here's a list of their members. They describe themselves as "moderate," "centrist" and "pro-growth." They started out life as an affiliate of the Democratic Leadership Council in 1997. Read the centerpiece of their movement, the American Prosperity Agenda. It's filled with lots of pro-business policies and proposals, but nothing about increasing the minimum wage, strengthening labor unions or providing help to students burdened by debt.

Not surprisingly, they favor cashing in on America's energy boom (i.e. fracking deep well drilling in massive shale formations. Their job creation strategy? Fix the tax code to improve international competitiveness. When Obama was President here was what they supported:

The NDC has worked to craft and pass legislation, including Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) for the People's Republic of China, fast track Trade Promotion Authority, digital signatures, and H-1B visa reform and continues to work on matters such as privacy, broadband, expanding e-learning opportunities and making government more accessible and efficient through the use of technology. [..]

According to the Center for Responsive Politics, as of 2009 the top contributors to the New Democrat Coalition caucus members were the finance, insurance and real estate industries and in the two decades between 1989 and 2009 members of the New Democrat Coalition had collected $50 million from those industries.

That's right, they are the bought and paid for CorporateDems who advocated (and still support) neo-liberal trade policies such as the TPP. Shocker, I know.

These are the "bi-partisan" Vichy Democrats in the House of Representatives, my friends, who have been responsible for much of the harm done to the middle and lower classes over the last 20 years. And like all good lap dogs, they are begging for any crumbs they can get from Herr Trump. My guess is he raps them hard on their sensitive noses with a newspaper whereupon they go scurrying into a corner to complain to MsDNC about how badly they were mistreated by that mean old hair ball in the Oval Office.

I smell "Prosperity Jesus" perfume wafting from at least some of these folk, and as the kids say these days, it isn't the freshest.

They probably consider this overture a "win-win" because it signals to the idiots who worship at the font of unaccountable bipartisanship that they are devoted members of that cult, while they also secretly hope that whatever shitty cakes they can bake with Trump to stick it to the 99% will be evaluated for their flaws as "the best we could do to get something done for the people" and then double-coated with even more vomitous bipartisanship frosting, equal parts water-thinned bullshit and a vat of lardy greed and just a teaspoon of faux vanilla virtue flavoring. Tasty!

I would just say, "Hey y'all, if you help Trump drop-kick me into a big splat on the sidewalk, I'm just as dead as if he did it all by his lonesome. Please spare me the Disney character band aids."

The 3rd Wayers kicked out the New Dealers so that they can suck up to Trump. Like Obama, they come "pre-soldout."

had a piece on about the new DNC. Despite giving Ellison a participation trophy, they left him the list of leadership, who are all Obama/Clinton people. DNC and the NDC, same thing.

Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.

A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.

A truth of the nuclear age/climate change: we can no longer have endless war and survive on this planet. Oh sh*t.

insulting him will make him cooperate? Give me a break! It's just part and parcel of the Democrats' agenda to keep offending Trump. http://caucus99percent.com/content/frigate-ship-happens

The guy who should be DNC chair (no, not Ellison) said Democrats need to grow up and focus on the economic futures of Americans, instead of focusing on Trump. Made perfect sense to me, so of course, no one supported him. http://www.mediaite.com/online/grow-up-dnc-chair-candidate-says-democrat...

And the funny thing is, they get what they want anyway. Nobody is passing legislation to benefit is dirty prols. No one gives a damn about our rights. And the economic policies promoted and passed on BOTH sides always benefit the same people, the 1% and the MIC.

What they're really pissing and moaning about is that now that they're out of power, it's the other side who's getting the best pickings now. They have no more influence to sell. And they're losing millions of the people who used to foot their bills due to #Demexit. Poor babies are watching their gravy train go bye bye.
