Sanders, Clinton to meet Tuesday
Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders said early Sunday that he plans to meet Hillary Clinton, the party’s presumptive nominee, late Tuesday.
The independent Vermont senator told NBC’s “Meet the Press” that he will do everything he can to make sure presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump is not elected president.”
“I will be meeting with Secretary Clinton on Tuesday evening, I believe,” he said. “And we will be chatting about her campaign.”

“After we have that kind of discussion and after we can determine whether or not we are going to have a strong and progressive platform, I will be able to make other decisions.”

Soooo, we'll fiind out Tuesday if this 'revolution' was for real or just talk.
Comments
Oh, the Revolution is real alright.
Teach a person to fish, etc. Sanders set our feet on the path. He has always said this is not about him. What he does is while not insignificant is what he must do in keeping with his belief that the Democratic Party can be saved. Many of us disagree with that assessment and will act accordingly. Others will try to effect changes in the Democratic Party. Either way, change is gonna come, and that is a revolution.

I thoroughly understand the revolution is not 'about' Sanders
But if he joins up with the enemy, how real can it have been?
It's like the laugh I got at Warren yesterday reading the article about her out on the circuit lecturing people about 'income inequality'.

obviously
Bernie is as sincere as they come. He'll demand a lot from $$Hillary for his support.
Whether Berners believe they can trust her to fulfill those promises is another matter.
I could never believe a serial liar like $$Hillary. Never.
The problem with that is that
The problem with that is that Bernie also knows that anything Hillary "promises" is lies. Her agenda is well set in accordance with the Project for the New American Century - as destructive as it gets.
Maybe that is part of his plan to help make his point?
Get as many promises out of her as we can, then when she inevitably breaks them it gives him a solid branch to stand on for the big push for the formation of a new party for the 2018-20 cycles?
I don't know his reasoning but won't engage in too much speculation about events that have yet to unfold but what I will say is that Bernie's long history of doing the right thing, political expediency be damned, leaves me no reason to think he will do anything other than what he at least believes will be the best choice for America.
Will I agree with him if his belief is that the Democratic party can be saved? Not in the slightest, but it wouldn't be the first thing I disagreed with him on and will not be enough to change my opinion of him in and of itself.
His history should bring us some solace, he almost always chooses the right decision, or at least the one he HONESTLY believes is right. That is good enough for me. I don't have to agree with someone on everything to respect them.

She will become anti-fracking?
She will appoint a Supreme to overturn Citizens United?
She will stop the TPP in it's tracks?
Neither Bernie his supporters have had any effect on her so far, so what in the world would make us think that, after handing Bernie his ass, she really REALLY wants him to influence her party?
She wants his email donor list, and for him, and for us, to stfu.

"After handing Bernie his ass"
Really? Is that how you describe the events that resulted in a little known Vermont senator taking nearly half the country's vote even with election fraud and voter suppression amidst a misinformation campaign and media blackout?
No, she is not going to enact or promote any of Sanders'/our policies, but she will be providing the proof of the pudding which will make a third party even more viable in the years to come. Apparently, Obama was not proof enough for some.

She didn't do as you say
she has internet trolls from India swarming website: she has international financing and has sold out the U.S. through her SOS position: and her husband recruited Hitler, Jr. to scare up votes for her: the media was immensely monopolised after these grifters enacted the "Telecommunications Act". They are financed by evil.
Bernie did a great job of showing us what a fraud it all is: and the world sees this too: now those you are not hynotized see it too.
The problem is, they still have a significant amount of voters who WANT to be hynotized and just want to shop.
see my explanation above
we are in agreement.

I read that as
I read that as being the way SHE perceives it and Im sure she does believe absolutely that she not only 'handed him his ass' but on a silver platter (made by the same company that makes the hackable diebold machines), under a shatterproof glass cover, the same shatterproof glass she uses to shield herself from FBI investigations and DoJ indictments.
Of course we don't see it quite the same way she does.
It is as real as the PEOPLE want to make it.
Warning: This is not a comparison of Christ to Sanders. It is about the message and the revolution.
Did Christ endorse the Romans? Yes, in many, many ways he did (e.g., Give unto Caesar...), but he still preached his message of revolution. So will Sanders. (Keep in mind Sanders' definition of revolution as something that changes the direction of the country or people's lives.)
Did Christ stage a revolt against the Romans? No, he did not. In fact, he gave himself up willingly to them. Sanders will not go so quietly. Even if he uses the word "endorse" in reference to HRC, does anyone believe that any stump speeches he may give will be anything other than we have to beat Trump and further exhortations on the needs of the country?
Did the revolution survive Christ even though his voice was silenced? Yes, it did (obviously). Forty days after Christ was crucified, he appeared to his apostles and basically told them to get out there and do his work--without him.

There are plenty of politicians involved.
However, a movement that addresses the issues that Sanders has spoken about does not require one.
No psychoanalysis was involved in my statement, just a description of a term I used. However your response was a good way to deflect from the issue. If you disagree with the ostrich analogy, then explain why or how. Was voting for or "being for" Sanders the be all and end all of your involvement in and commitment to change?

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." ---- William Casey, CIA Director, 1981
Let me put it this way. Bernie Sanders condemned every
single thing that the Clinton woman stands for. Now we're told it's not a think if he endorses her? I thought one of the major points of this movement is that this 'party' is being run by the wrong people for the benefit of a few people. The people that Clinton supports and gets millions from just for talking to.
Of course I could say "did Christ, after seeing how much corruption was in the world, jump in and join the other side?" but I won't.
I'm tired of this back-slapping "Isn't humanity neat?" bullshit. We're a virus with shoes, okay? That's all we are. - Bill Hicks
Politics is the entertainment branch of industry. - Frank Zappa
I agree. Now let me put it this way:
If you knew that the Clinton machine had managed to put the screws to Bernie Sanders in some way, and had managed to get him to stand up and endorse them, would that be a reason to fold the movement?
Obviously bribes and promises haven't been enough to stop Sanders--the establishment wanted him to stop about 3 months ago. If he were the type to take a bribe, it would have happened by now. If he were the type to settle for stupid empty words and promises that will never be kept, it equally would have been over by now.
The establishment really, REALLY wants him to fold his campaign. Nevada was the sign that they are really, REALLY serious about this--they want it to stop. Whenever they start doing hatchet jobs on people suggesting that they're violent thugs, that means they really want to stop whoever they're smearing.
So, at this point, I think it's a fair assumption that only two things would make Sanders fold his campaign 1)intimidation, or 2)he "gave his word" to support Clinton if he couldn't secure Dem nomination. Or, I guess, 3)an actual count was done which actually proved that Clinton actually won--which would be hard to get at this point, given how much fraud there's been.
In the context of massive fraud, I have a hard time buying #2 or #3.
So I repeat, if it turns out the Clinton machine can find a way to bring enough pressure to force Sanders to back down, is that a reason to fold the movement?
"More for Gore or the son of a drug lord--None of the above, fuck it, cut the cord."
--Zack de la Rocha
"I tell you I'll have nothing to do with the place...The roof of that hall is made of bones."
-- Fiver
Well, I'm afraid that if someone doesn't start showing that
they meant what they've been preaching to everyone that this 'movement' will fold up and blow away like Occupy. Regardless of what anyone believes, a rudderless movement just will not work. Where will we find this 'movement' if Sanders capitulates and endorses Clinton? Who will guide it? Lead it? A lack of those things led to the down of Occupy. Well, that and a loss of purpose.
I have never thought that the movement was all about Bernie. It was about the principles he espoused. And the fight against the greed and corruption. How does an endorsement of the woman that embodies all that and more help his 'movement'? And what does that say about belief and commitment to one's cause if the person who drives the 'movement' compromises his own position? Does that inspire faithful commitment from others?
I'll just wait to see what he says. Who knows what will happen?

There is no way Bernie can endorse her
His policies and beliefs are diametrically opposed to her. Additionally, he fully believes that she is dishonest so the Bernie who has energized the nation will not endorse her.

I'm not sure about that.
I'm not sure about that.
I do believe that he would make severe demands from her on behalf of his base, but I doubt that he would refuse to endorse her in the (imo) unlikely event she includes strong progressive elements in her platform.
Again, I think she'll offer weak tea, and demonize Bernie for refusing to accept said tea.

Her words are meaningless. Bernie knows this.

Oh well, have a nice chat with her, Sen. Sanders,
I mean Todd tried in so many ways to nail Sander in this stupid interview. I wonder why they can't let Sanders sleep in on a Sunday morning and why he can't let those talking heads hang dry.
Sanders ain't going to let a nice chat with a nice lady mess his mind. So, all of it is baloney. Wait and see and listen to what he has to say at the Convention and afterwards. Hopefully all other decent morally conscious people in various government agencies do their duty in between and keep this frigging sharade of an election primary from sinking the state's ship altogether.
Loose lips sink ships. Too many loose lips in the media.

OK Bernie
a few tips.
1. Put your wallet in your front pocket or better yet, leave it at home.
2. Don't believe a word she says. If her lips are moving she is lying to you.
3. Keep in mind. You won this charade of a primary. It was stolen from you by the person you're going to meet with. She's a low-life bottom dweller.
4. After the meeting take a long hot shower with a strong of disinfectant as you can stand.
5. and don't give her your donor list.

Doesn't matter if she ends up with his donor list, beyond a
mild annoyance. None of us are going to donate to HER.

I found the last quote interesting.
That wording leaves a lot of options open.
Life is strong. I'm weak, but Life is strong.
Yep, Bernie could easily argue that the numbers...
such as Clinton's favorability, and his stronger performance in polls against Trump necessitate that in order to keep his word to do everything possible to make sure Trump isn't president that he has no choice but to run 3rd party/Green ticket in November.

via K4S, here's Politico:
Don't underestimate Bernie. He has held his own in Congress against these neo-libs and GOPs for decades without compromising his sanity or essence. You think he's gonna cave now?
Do we forget all the talk about him from the articles about his being called "The Amendment King"? We admired his abilities to thread the needle when push came to shove, no?
He's going to the Convention and will push to strengthen the platform as much as he possibly can, he has told us this many times.
Bottom line, he's a Senator, a politician. Let him do the politicking the way he feels is best and we just keep on being activists and do whatever it is we feel and do best as progressives. He is not, and never has promised to be, our Savior.
They're gonna try to bury him and us along with him. Its up to us if we let them do that or if we morph into seedlings.
No offense intended but I don't think that it behooves us to
just sit down and shut up. I think that's a lot of what got us to where we are today.
We'll see what happens. Clinton is a snake. I'm an older never-missed-an-election female progressive and I've been watching the Clintons since the early 90s. I found them offensive and rather smarmy even when I was a young mother. Particularly after the 60 Minutes special where HillBillary went on t.v. and told the world that Flowers was basically a prostituting herself for money and lying about the poor Clintons. Why, she was a family friend they were trying to 'help' with some personal problems who turned on Bill and Shils 'knew all about it". It's on YOUTUBE. You can watch it.
The core of the woman is based on self-serving opportunism. And she's married to a jerk who probably preys on underage girls and who is one of the main reason we find ourselves up to our asses in alligators today. His political agenda was, is, and always will be slanted in favor of the rich. He and Shils have that in common. And she's talking about letting him 'run the economy'. Which, in reality, is a 1%ers wet dream.
***sigh***

Fair Warning
If Bernie does get behind the nominee of his own party, I am not going to throw him under the bus, nor will I suffer others doing so gladly. He may have lost this battle but I don't believe he will ever wave a white flag on the political revolution he started. Unless he decided to run third party, there is nothing that would ostracize him more than refusing to endorse Hillary at this point. We do not have that burden. We do not have to fall on that sword, and as such, can protest the convention, Hillary's candidacy, the DNC, the Media, and everything these god awful people put us through.
Bernie gave us a voice on a global scale and began a dialogue that WILL CHANGE policy if we keep pushing back on legislators in our own districts, in our states, and in Washington . My thanks and gratitude for what he risked and what he endured will not be to denounce him for doing what he must to remain viable both in the Senate and on his many important Committees.
Time to move to the next important battle and mobilize others to contact their congressmen about some of the provisions in the TPP that would allow corporations to sue us for hindering their ability to make FUTURE profits. Think about how this provision would effect any kind of environmental progress like the anti fracking movement? Many in congress are actually not aware of this provision. We CAN change things if we MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD.
So, perhaps instead of getting angry about what Bernie needs to do, maybe each of us could send him a postcard thanking him for the many tireless hours he's spent on the campaign trail for us speaking truth to power because it was the right thing to do.

Bernie has the power in this meeting.
Just remember, Hillary needs Bernie much more than Bernie needs Hillary. Bernie has the upper hand here. And Hillary hasn't forgotten how her weak campaign had to be propped up by questionable tactics, while Bernie's drew thousands in city after city on very short notice. Bernie had an organic energy that was sorely lacking in her campaign.
Bernie also knows she could be sidelined by the FBI/DOJ prior to the July Convention. And he knows that she hasn't been officially even nominated yet.
I trust him to do the right thing for our revolution.

No, no Bernie. Use her past behavior as your guide. Just this last week, she screwed you royally at the polls, with all the electoral irregularities, and the preemptive voter suppression crapola on Monday night.
