Extended Susan Sarandon interview - Hear her words in context (Previously: Well, this may well get me banned over there)

As requested, here's my attempt to repost here:

Here’s the extended interview:

It is not as black and white as some are representing it to be. And she’s certainly not calling for a Trump win: “Some people think Donald Trump will bring the revolution immediately — if he gets in then things will really explode… Some people feel that” by heightening the contradictions, Hayes suggests, and she nods. She’s not advocating that that’s the way to go.

Here’s the line to which folks are objecting when Hayes asks whom she’ll vote for if Bernie is not the nominee:

I don’t know, I’ll see what happens.

Here is what I hear as the explanation of her resistance to pledging her vote now to Secretary Clinton while Bernie is still in the race:

If you feel it’s pragmatic to shore the status quo right now, then you’re not in touch with the status quo. The status quo is not working. And I think it’s dangerous to think we can continue the way we are with the militarized police forces, with privatized prisons, with the death penalty, with the low minimum wage, with threats to womens’ rights and think that you can’t do something huge to turn that around because the country is not in good shape. If you’re in the middle class, it’s disappearing…

She is where I am. Fact is, Bernie is still in the race, and he stands for a different America than the course we are currently on. While he remains in the race, he’s my guy. In the event that he does not get the nomination, ask me THEN whom I will vote for as my second choice. That’s all Sarandon is saying. I agree with her. She’s refusing to buy into the current iteration of the inevitability meme which now says all American subjects must take a loyalty oath to Clinton prior to the contest being decided since it has been proclaimed from on high that she will be our candidate.

No thanks. I’ll stick with my guy until, like he has said, the last vote is cast. After that, I’ll be happy to discuss my second choice candidate in the event he is not our nominee.

In 2008, Clinton stayed in the race after any path to the White House for her had been ruled out. She apparently felt one path for her still remained: Her assertion was unreasonable and unconscionable. If she’s your candidate, remember she repudiated the PARTY UNITY argument last time around...

As usual, Hillary's supporters picked and chose what Susan actually said. And I agree with her except for one thing. If Bernie doesn't win, I know for damned sure I will NOT vote for Hillary.
I am not voting for evil and I think Hillary, Bill and Obama have turned out to be the more evil, not lesser.
The trade deals that decimated the work force.
Deregulating the banks that decimated people's lives.
More wars than have decimated people's countries and killed over 250 thousand in Syria alone.
Hell no.
I am not voting for evil.

I hope you post it here so that those that don't want to go TOP see it. Great Post as i said.

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

in a swing state, I would probably hold my nose and vote for her, but I might as well take advantage of the only good thing about living in a dark red state. If Bernie doesn't get the nomination, and nothing has changed in my feelings, I'll be writing him in.

that changes my entire political philosophy! I was for the people, I was in favor of single payer healthcare where the money was in the actual care and not the insurance profits. I was in favor of seeing college as an extension of high school, i.e. enabling everyone to get a college education without an incredible financial burden on them. I was in favor of a lot of stuff that Bernie says but geez....Susan Sarandon said she isn't sure if she'd vote for Hillary if Hillary wins the nomination and boy, oh boy, that's really turned me off Bernie! Because.......um.....er....uh...

I'm a fucking idiot. or
I'm as dishonest as Hillary. or
Sarandon says she doesn't like Hillary's shit sandwiches but I'd love one. YUMMMY! That'll show her! or
I think you're too stupid to know I'm completely full of shit. or
I don't like her tone either! or

Take you pick or come up with another one. One thing for sure, Hillary isn't an idiot but she may be a carrier.

To be completely clear Shahryar's comment was the essence of this morning's TOP diary Sarandon Just Lost Me For Bernie.

One Susan Sarandon > infinite number of charter members of the Great Orange Lemming Horde (i.e, Kossacks For Klinton).

What a contrast between Susan busting her butt for Sanders out on the hustings, showing up in out of the way places, participating in caucuses, etc., versus George and Amal Clooney sitting like royalty at the head table at some tech billionaire's gaudy mansion, hosting a $353,000 a plate fundraiser for Hillary.

But not to worry, Hillary will always be the tireless champion of the little folk. I know, because the Great Orange Lemming Horde told me so!

You could feel the oxygen sucked out of the room. I looked around the room and saw the same sick look on everybody's face and realized I wasn't the only one who had been scared Obama would be assassinated.
