Donald Trump and Wall Street

Remember when "a Trump White House strikes fear at the heart of capitalism"?
Remember when "Wall Street’s wealthiest tycoons are spending millions to thwart Trump"?
Remember when "The real threat to Wall Street is not Bernie Sanders — it’s Donald Trump"?

It all sounded so believable...as long as you didn't think about it too hard.
The Billionaire who is the nightmare for billionaires, because Reasons!
The angry conservative base of the Republican Party sure ate it up.

So how does Wall Street feel now that Trump is the nominee? Pretty good.

I spoke with over 50 financial professionals across the board. And the overwhelming majority said they were planning on voting for Trump at the election.
"He fights very hard to pay as little taxes as he can," a hedge fund manager said referring to recent Trump comment. "I say amen. He's just like us."

He's just like us

Why does this not surprise me?
Oh, yeah. Because I'm not a moron.

Earlier this month Trump made a Goldman Sachs man his finance manager.
Then he promised to dismantle Dodd-Frank.

“I would say it’ll be close to a dismantling of Dodd-Frank,” he said, naming the financial reform package. “Dodd-Frank is a very negative force, which has developed a very bad name.”
Trump’s comments are in stark contrast to his previous positioning of himself as a candidate who will be tough on the financial sector. Earlier this week, he criticized Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton for her ties to big banks, saying, “She’s totally controlled by Wall Street.” A longtime adviser has also promised that Trump will crack down on the industry, saying recently, “Who’s been tougher on bankers than Donald Trump?” And Trump has promised to go after “hedge fund guys” who he says are “getting away with murder.”

Donald Trump is so obviously full of sh*t that only those seeking to be deceived would fall for it.
And guess what? His audience desires being deceived. It's all a circus act! All of it!

It's Kayfabe people.
It's exactly what you would expect from a WWE Hall of Fame member.

None of it is real, and that includes all his talk about banning Muslims and building a wall. Trump couldn't give a sh*t less about that stuff. Build it, ban them. He doesn't care one way or another.
His interests are limited to power and money.
He's simply playing to his audience, and it worked.
And it continues to work on Democrats, goading them into overreacting.

Americans are used to politicians lying to us, but never so blatantly. Trump took it to the next level, and no one, not the media, not the pundits, not the Clinton campaign, and certainly not mainstream liberals, has caught up to this yet.

True, that.

His interests are limited to power and money.

Pretty much, BUT… what Trump wants and what he reveals in his speeches, is to play the money game on behalf of the United States. He wants to use the The Art of the Deal to make the world pay for the services that the US already provides for free. It's just good business. He's not buying in to the Neocon wetdream of US Empire. Humanitarian intervention ain't free anymore. And what's up with those stupid battle fleets and the new bomber that doesn't fly worth a shit? Cut the losses, people, and move on.

Keeping the world's shipping lanes open? "Pay up, world. Or get your own navy and guard your own sea lanes."

Fighting wars for Israel? "Pay for your own strategic wars against your neighbors. If you want US help, you got it. But you pay for the entire operation up front. And about that chunk of aid you get from us every year? That's not happening any more."

Keep NATO on the boil and growing? "The US is not picking up the tab for your toy armies any more. Take off the training wheels and pay for it yourself."

Our closest ally in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia? "No more weapons for you morons. Go fix all that shit you broke, and maybe we'll talk. And round up your terrorists and take them home. You fuckers bombed my home town."

Trump is a show off. He plans to take those winnings and use them to "make America great again." He wants to multiply it inside the US economy through infrastructure investment. And he doesn't want to asset-strip the nation by privatizing the infrastructure in order to catapult the corporate vampires into even greater wealth and power. He wants to maximize the investment as Public money so he can show Americans the big fat bankroll he made for the country. And he wants to show off all the jobs he created by building out the United States of Trump Infrastructure.

Because he's the smartest guy in the room.

For Trump, it's that simple.

I think that Pluto's comment is exceptional. I have been saying for a long time to take trump seriously, and the only responses that I get is that he is a clown with such huge negatives that he will never get elected, It's time to wake up now folks, he is on his way to be the next President of these United States, President Trump. Say it a few times every day and you'll eventually get it. He is very clever, you can't fight his policies, since doesn't have any real policies. He has an overall philosophy, make America great. His strategy is to make a few outrageous policy statements as examples to that goal and allow you to self flagellate over them. There was one other significant candidate that espoused a simple goal with no substance, and that was Gary Hart. He was stopped with the "where`s the beef" commercial. That will not work with Trump, he has too much experience in the real business world-- he will bury you.

Here's how to stop Trump: Nominate a candidate with enormous appeal, character and personality. It's too late for that. Hillary has gamed the system. The most repulsive candidate for President in my lifetime is about to get the Democratic Party nomination.

Watch Trump's numbers rise like a meteor. He has already gained public awareness with his "Apprentice Series". Check out the awards nominated and won http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0364782/awards.

Republicans are falling in line like toy soldiers. Reagan Democrats will again surface. Indies hate Hillary.

I am currently vacationing in St Petersburg Russia. That's right. I'm writing this comment from the heart of Russia's cultural and intellectual city. Today is the celebration of the city's Birthday. I could not get through the airport without three serious conversations about the US election. Russians follow our politics really closely. Hillary -- Nyet. They feel that she would polarize the world and that Russia could not work with her. But they think that Trump is somewhat off of his rocker. Yet they support Trump because they feel that he will be a rational businessman, and that's where they want the US (and Russia) to go. They also state that they don't really believe his wild policy statements, that he will have to become much more rational, very quickly.

As a Progressive there are tons of things that I don't like about Trump. but I feel compelled to report what I hear, and to stimulate conversation about possible outcomes.

Capitalism has always been the rule of the people by the oligarchs. You only have two choices, eliminate them or restrict their power.
