Brief Note

I revised my essay "What Admitting My Wife to the Hospital Taught Me About What's Wrong With America" into a longer, and I hope better version of what I wanted to say originally but failed to do. That is all.

and We can all "help" you two fill out the satisfaction survey that comes after a hospital visit. I hope you have that intake person's name and mention her poor behavior. I did that for one ER doc in particular one time. Nothing like arriving in an ambulance and being dismissed 4 hours later to get a taxi home. And blooming with shingles the next day. Ass.

Be well, both of you.

Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.

I also hope we have her back for Christmas. All I want to be honest.

We should no more after a "procedure she is undergoing now is completed.

Appreciate your support so much,

Steve

I just reread your article. I see that you handled yourself well under trying circumstances, as in "you are made of sterner stuff than I". From experience the "wait we need to slow this down" message is nearly impossible to communicate in these and certain other situations. Sadly, I think the situation (throughout our society) will get much worse before it gets better. I say this even as I know young people moving into these positions are determined to not make those same mistakes. But at the same time knowing that situational dynamics too often drive the unfolding of events. It's like it is too easy to allow sensory overload to become the norm, and if it is the norm, well then, "what can you do?"

So, once again we are faced with the truism: Constant vigilance is required for our (collective) survival. We can at least hope for a calmer next few days.
