How did we become ugly America? Not all Americans, or even a majority but enough that our society and the world has no escape from their megaphone. Alpha males unbound by civility, facts or rules.
Is it curable, containable, reversible? Can we agree on what is ugly - I'd nominate the "me-centric"; those with an expectation of being owed, I believe I deserve and 'other's don't (some just by birthright and feel they've been wronged.) Ugly souls, at the alter of Me.
Health is the greatest gift, contentment the greatest wealth, faithfulness the best relationship.

Hello, welcome to the Friday Open Thread, aka Funk Friday. I have been winging it for awhile now, and offer no excuses. The bottom line is I managed to get the Friday Open Thread and it's my funking Friday.
We just had a remarkably childish, mean-spirited troll "diary" posted, since we all know from under which bridge the troll scuttled out from.
I clicked on it, thinking someone was being snarky or funny, but nope, just a troll wanting to display for us all the reasons why there will be no unity.
I started to comment "yawn..." but then thought - why bother? Honestly, who gives a shit?
Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.

So, what's up?
I'll go first.
Day and Night Differences of Sanders and Trump Supporters - to Free Hugs
(You have to withstand a minute of a Trump rally, but then there is five minutes of hug love ...)
The Free Hugs Project is a movement to spread love, inspire change, and raise awareness of social issues.
As I embark on a journey tomorrow to fight cancer that you folks have generously made possible, I received news this morning that my dear friend, Jimmy, has passed on. His struggle with lung cancer has ended.

If i could tell you how being showered with a tsunami of love feels, I would. But I’ve not that great a gift with words, though wordsmith on occasion I attempt to be, this thank-you can not reach the heights of the largesse you good people deserve.
In deepest respect, the following has been composed in hopes I do not “overstep the bounds of modesty” as my foolish center-stage ego is wont do do on occasions. I’m leaning on great artists and metaphor to do the heavy lifting for me.
