Bernie

And the system grinds on

Once again systems theory had the answer but we could not totally believe it. The system is very stable and it eats anything that tries to change that.

Bernie had to be beaten and he was. It really does not matter how it was done. At least he is still alive. He has made a choice which probably shows a deep understanding of the system and how it works.

From Athens to Burlington: The Line Not Crossed

I started writing this as we awaited the joint Bernie-Shillary 'rally' in NH on 7/12….torn between posting it this very evening before, or waiting until just after the ...Event.

Odd to begin a piece with a Digression, but in this circumstance it seemed warranted. So, I wish to remind us of something which happened (ironically) almost exactly one year ago: the rise of the Greek Socialist Syriza Party, and their challenge to the EU.

Does anyone else notice?

Our sham elections have no longer any resemblance of democracy. I have been silently watching for a while. What is there to say that is not being turned into a drum beat.

I am 80 years old and it is quite clear that having participated in elections all those years only shows how much the system has the power to totally boggle otherwise functioning minds. Once one sees through the con game there is no going back.

2016 Election--scenario #2382

To understand this election debacle and all its ramifications, interconnections, subterfuges, and downright crap, one has to be a master of 9-dimensional chess. I have a hard enough time with the common 2-D version. I thought I pretty much understood how this nomination thingy was going to work out--at least in my own mind. But then Bill Clinton totally clusterfucked the situation. He could easily be the smartest politician on the the planet--or undergoing senile dementia changes.

Bernie, the Convention, and Glass-Steagall

Maybe I heard this wrong--because that's been a problem. Although I didn't actually "sell my soul for rock and roll" I certainly paid for it with my ears. At any rate, I had the pleasure of seeing Bernie address an extremely enthusiast audience inNew York City on June 23, 2016. My apologies to any c99'ers who many have commented on this speech already, although I didn't perceive any essays whose title referenced that event.

The Berniemobile at Bisbee's Pride Parade

My partner, sphinxmoth, has been the leader of Bisbee for Bernie, Democratic precinct captain and assistant chair in our county, poll watcher, vote-counting watcher and helper, and addressed the County Board of Supervisors, urging them not to certify the Primary vote here in Arizona until some issues were cleared up. No dice; they had a deadline. I have helped her however and whenever I could, around the margins of my job. This campaign is certainly not over, for either of us.

Some questions and thoughts in preparation for the Bernie town hall

So, I threw my back out and couldn’t sit for long at the computer—and on the same day, my computer started turning itself off abruptly every time it booted up! (I think there may be a fan/overheating problem). I’m now relegated to my laptop, and relatively short stints at keyboard.
