From The Guardian:
Vermont senator had trailed in polls by more than 20 points but opposition to free trade and growing African American support won votes in rust-belt state
Bernie Sanders pulled off his biggest win of the Democratic presidential race on Tuesday, defeating Hillary Clinton in the Michigan primary on a night which also confirmed strong anti-establishment support for Donald Trump in the battle for the Republican nomination.
In an industrial state hit hard by the decline of manufacturing, the Vermont senator’s consistent opposition to free trade deals appears to have been a decisive factor, but he also showed signs of weakening Clinton’s dominance among African American voters.

Pharmacological management of transgender patients
Submitted by Robyn on Tue, 03/08/2016 - 1:53pmMeghan Ross, Senior Associate Editor of Pharmacy Times, has written a call for Pharmacists to educate themselves on the "unique needs" of transgender patients: 5 Ways Pharmacists Can Help Transgender Patients
Transgender patients have unique health needs, but few health care professionals have received adequate training on how to best care for these patients.
--Ross
Bryan Bishop, PharmD, BCPS, clinical assistant professor at the University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, recently wrote about pharmacotherapy considerations in the management of transgender patients in Pharmacotherapy.
Not being a peruser of that no-doubt fine journal, I'm glad Ms. Ross is.

You've probably read the Philip K. Dick book, Minority Report, or saw the hit movie of the same name. He wrote it in 1956. I seriously doubt that he expected something like it to become a reality.

Go Michigan!
Submitted by seamusk on Tue, 03/08/2016 - 11:16amWhomever you support in the primary, it’s difficult to deny that there is a correlation between turnout and results thus far. Where turnout has been better than 2008, Sanders wins. Where turnout has dropped less than 20%, Sanders usually wins. When turnout has dropped more than 20% Clinton always wins. This table shows the relationship between turnout and results thus far:

I'm Here, I'm the Queen, and I Call It
Submitted by Nightprowlkitty on Mon, 03/07/2016 - 8:00pmSo how lucky can you little bloggers be that I have arrived at your little blog?
And how can I proclaim myself Queen?
I call it.
I am bringing back the age-old most primal power play in the book.
I encountered it as a child and frankly haven't found anything more ubiquitous in our grand culture.
I shall give an example.
I was probably around 7 or so, and my brother was around 13. We were playing Monopoly and I was winning.
