I am now officially "Steven V" per the DNC Survey I Just Received

My name has changed.

Well, at least according to the Democratic National Committee, who did me the great honor of sending me their "OFFICIAL 2017 DEMOCRATIC PARTY SURVEY" for which I am eternally grateful. They actually want my opinion about what their priorities should be. I even have a DNC Membership number. Funny, I don't remember joining the DNC, but it is nice to know they want me so badly.

Moving On.

Democrats should not be fist pumping about the events of yesterday the marches were about something more fundamental than political parties, it was about rights hard won over a century or more. Democrats have helped feed the current system where income inequality has damaged our very democracy and as always women are on the front line to be kicked first and hardest.

Standing Rock and DC: Violence and More Violence from Cops

While mainstream media decried a little property destruction during the inauguration (see #disruptj20 for tweets, images, and videos), they simultaneously ignored the unrelenting aggression directed at the protesters in DC and at the water protectors in Standing Rock. The uniformed thugs acting as agents of the oligarchy continue to deploy teargas, pepper spray, water cannons, percussion grenades, rubber bullets, and other “less-lethal” tools in attempts to shut down the people’s voices and to prop up authoritarianism.

DNC = Democrats Never Change; the sad story of Keith Ellison

It's been raining profusely in my part of the swamp, which is personally pleasing. It also gives DT (delirium tremens) a chance to drain Obama's swamp and restock it with his own. The more things change, etc.

The provocation for today's comment was an email received jointly from Keith Ellison and Social Security Works. I don't know the connection, but I have had my opinion of KE change dramatically with one short debate.

Neo-Liberal Centrists Cant Win This Fight

They had their chance and royally blew it.

  • Continuing foreign wars.
  • A half arsed attempt at universal health care.
  • Increasing income inequality.
  • Accompanied with the stench of bipartisan selling out when given the chance to change.

Watching the Pussy Grabber's inauguration show with its American Exceptionalism on steroids, I expect the mushy centre [on both sides] to fold as per usual.

Because a plutocracy is what America needs

“January 20th 2017, will be remembered as the day the people became the rulers of this nation again.”
- Donald Trump

One thing Obama taught me was to look at the cabinet choices to see how the Administration will govern. You should simply ignore the inauguration speech, except to use it as contrast.

Trump "Transfers Power to the People", Undemocratically

The new President of the United States, Donald Trump, had this to say in his inaugural speech.

“Today, we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another, or from one party to another, but we are transferring power from Washington, D.C., and giving it back to you, the people,” Trump said.
